Amikor meghallotta Szanballat, Tóbijjá, az arab Gesem és a többi ellenségünk, hogy fölépítettem a várfalat, és hogy nem maradt azon semmi rés, bár még az ajtószárnyakat nem illesztettem be a kapukba,

És lőn, hogy mikor meghallá Szanballat, Tóbiás, az Arábiabeli Gesem és a mi többi ellenségeink, hogy megépítettem a kőfalat, s hogy nem maradt azon semmi romlás, jóllehet még az ideig ajtókat nem állíttattam a kapukra:

Now it came to pass when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and Geshem the Arabian, and the rest of our enemies, heard that I had builded the wall, and that there was no breach left therein; (though at that time I had not set up the doors upon the gates;)

Nu pusesem încă uşile porţilor, când Sanbalat, Tobia, Gheşem, arabul, şi ceilalţi vrăjmaşi ai noştri au auzit că zidisem zidul şi că n-a mai rămas nicio spărtură.

Now when Sanballat and Tobiah and Geshem the Arab and the rest of our enemies heard that I had built the wall and that there was no breach left in it (although up to that time I had not set up the doors in the gates),

ilyen üzenetet küldött hozzám Szanballat és Gesem: Jöjj, és találkozzunk Kefírimben, az Ónó-völgyben! Ők ugyanis gonosz dolgot terveztek ellenem.

Külde Szanballat és Gesem hozzám ilyen izenettel: Jer és találkozzunk a faluk [egyikében,] az Onó-völgyében; holott ők gonoszt gondoltak ellenem.

That Sanballat and Geshem sent unto me, saying, Come, let us meet together in some one of the villages in the plain of Ono. But they thought to do me mischief.

Atunci Sanbalat şi Gheşem au trimis să-mi spună: „Vino şi să ne întâlnim în satele din valea Ono.” Îşi puseseră de gând să-mi facă rău.

Sanballat and Geshem sent to me, saying, “Come and let us meet together at Hakkephirim in the plain of Ono.” But they intended to do me harm.

Ezért követeket küldtem hozzájuk ezzel az üzenettel: Nagy munkában vagyok, ezért nem mehetek le. Megállna ez a munka, ha abbahagynám, és hozzátok mennék.

Küldék azért követeket hozzájok ilyen izenettel: Nagy dolgot cselekszem én, azért nem mehetek alá; megszünnék e munka, ha attól eltávozván, hozzátok mennék.

And I sent messengers unto them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you?

Le-am trimis soli cu următorul răspuns: „Am o mare lucrare de făcut şi nu pot să mă cobor; cât timp l-aş lăsa ca să vin la voi, lucrul ar înceta.”

And I sent messengers to them, saying, “I am doing a great work and I cannot come down. Why should the work stop while I leave it and come down to you?”

Négyszer is küldtek nekem ilyen üzenetet, de én mindig ilyen módon feleltem nekik.

És küldének hozzám ilyen módon négy ízben, és én ilyen módon felelék nékik.

Yet they sent unto me four times after this sort; and I answered them after the same manner.

Mi-au făcut în patru rânduri aceeaşi cerere, şi le-am dat acelaşi răspuns.

And they sent to me four times in this way, and I answered them in the same manner.

Ezek után Szanballat ötödször is hozzám küldte az emberét ugyanilyen módon, kezében nyílt levéllel,

Küldé továbbá hozzám Szanballat ilyen módon ötödször az ő legényét, a kinek kezében egy felnyitott levél vala,

Then sent Sanballat his servant unto me in like manner the fifth time with an open letter in his hand;

Sanbalat mi-a trimis solia aceasta a cincea oară prin slujitorul său, care ţinea în mână o scrisoare deschisă.

In the same way Sanballat for the fifth time sent his servant to me with an open letter in his hand.

melyben ez állt: A szomszéd népek közt az a hír járja, és Gasmu is mondja, hogy te és a zsidók azért építitek a várfalat, mert pártot akartok ütni, és hogy te leszel a királyuk e szóbeszéd szerint.

Melyben ez vala írva: A szomszéd népek közt ez a hír és Gasmu is mondja, hogy te és a zsidók pártot akartok ütni, annakokáért építed te a kőfalat; és hogy te leszel az ő királyok, e beszédek szerint.

Wherein was written, It is reported among the heathen, and Gashmu saith it, that thou and the Jews think to rebel: for which cause thou buildest the wall, that thou mayest be their king, according to these words.

În ea era scris: „Se răspândeşte zvonul printre popoare, şi Gaşmu spune că tu şi iudeii aveţi de gând să vă răsculaţi şi că în acest scop zideşti zidul. Se zice că tu vei ajunge împăratul lor

In it was written, “It is reported among the nations, and Geshem also says it, that you and the Jews intend to rebel; that is why you are building the wall. And according to these reports you wish to become their king.

Sőt még prófétákat is rendeltél, hogy ezt hirdessék rólad Jeruzsálemben: Király van Júdában! Ezeknek a dolgoknak a híre a királyhoz is eljuthat, azért hát jöjj, és tanácskozzunk egymással!

Sőt még prófétákat is rendelél, a kik hirdetnék te felőled Jeruzsálemben, ezt mondván: Király van Júdában! És most e dolgoknak híre a királyhoz is elérkezik, annakokáért jer és tanácskozzunk együtt!

And thou hast also appointed prophets to preach of thee at Jerusalem, saying, There is a king in Judah: and now shall it be reported to the king according to these words. Come now therefore, and let us take counsel together.

şi că ai pus chiar proroci ca să te numească la Ierusalim împărat al lui Iuda. Şi acum lucrurile acestea vor ajunge la cunoştinţa împăratului. Vino, dar, şi să ne sfătuim împreună.”

And you have also set up prophets to proclaim concerning you in Jerusalem, ‘There is a king in Judah.’ And now the king will hear of these reports. So now come and let us take counsel together.”

Én pedig ezt az üzenetet küldtem neki: Nem történt semmi olyan, amiről te beszélsz, hanem csak magadtól gondoltad ki mindezt a szívedben.

Én pedig küldék ő hozzá ilyen izenettel: Nem történt semmi olyan, a minőt te mondasz, hanem csak magadtól gondoltad mindazt a te szívedben.

Then I sent unto him, saying, There are no such things done as thou sayest, but thou feignest them out of thine own heart.

Am trimis următorul răspuns lui Sanbalat: „Ce ai spus tu în scrisoare nu este; tu de la tine le născoceşti!”

Then I sent to him, saying, “No such things as you say have been done, for you are inventing them out of your own mind.”

Mert ezek meg akartak minket rettenteni, és azt gondolták: Kezük abbahagyja a munkát, és az félbemarad. Azért hát, ó, URam, erősítsd meg a kezemet!

Mert mindezek el akarnak vala minket rettenteni, ezt mondván: Leveszik kezöket a munkáról és az félben marad! Azért hát, [oh] [Uram!] erősítsd meg az én kezeimet.

For they all made us afraid, saying, Their hands shall be weakened from the work, that it be not done. Now therefore, O God, strengthen my hands.

Toţi oamenii aceştia voiau să ne înfricoşeze şi îşi ziceau: „Li se va muia inima, şi lucrarea nu se va face.” Acum, Dumnezeule, întăreşte-mă!

For they all wanted to frighten us, thinking, “Their hands will drop from the work, and it will not be done.” But now, O God, strengthen my hands.

Azzal elmentem Semajának, Delájá fiának, Mehétabél unokájának a házába, és őt bezárkózva találtam. Ő azt mondta: Menjünk be Isten házába, a templom belsejébe, és zárjuk be a templom ajtajait, mert eljönnek, hogy megöljenek téged, mégpedig éjjel jönnek el, hogy megöljenek.

És én elmentem Semájának, a Delája fiának házába, a ki Mehétabeél fia vala, és őt bezárkózva [találtam,] és monda: Menjünk az Isten házába, a templom belsejébe és zárjuk be a templomnak ajtait, mert eljőnek, hogy megöljenek téged, és pedig éjjel jőnek el, hogy megöljenek.

Afterward I came unto the house of Shemaiah the son of Delaiah the son of Mehetabeel, who was shut up; and he said, Let us meet together in the house of God, within the temple, and let us shut the doors of the temple: for they will come to slay thee; yea, in the night will they come to slay thee.

M-am dus la Şemaia, fiul lui Delaia, fiul lui Mehetabeel. El se închisese şi a zis: „Haidem împreună în Casa lui Dumnezeu, în mijlocul Templului, şi să închidem uşile Templului: căci vin să te omoare şi au să vină noaptea să te omoare.”

Now when I went into the house of Shemaiah the son of Delaiah, son of Mehetabel, who was confined to his home, he said, “Let us meet together in the house of God, within the temple. Let us close the doors of the temple, for they are coming to kill you. They are coming to kill you by night.”

Én azonban azt mondtam: Hát ilyen férfinak, mint én, illik-e elmenekülnie? Az olyan ember, mint én, bemehet-e a templomba úgy, hogy életben maradjon? Nem megyek!

Én pedig mondék: Avagy ily férfiúnak, mint én vagyok, [illik]-é futni? Hát ilyen lévén mint én, beléphet-é valaki a templomba, élvén? Nem megyek!

And I said, Should such a man as I flee? and who is there, that, being as I am, would go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in.

Eu am răspuns: „Un om ca mine să fugă? Şi care om ca mine ar putea să intre în Templu şi să trăiască? Nu voi intra!”

But I said, “Should such a man as I run away? And what man such as I could go into the temple and live? I will not go in.”

Mert felismertem, hogy nem Isten küldte őt, hanem ezt a próféciát azért mondta nekem, mert Tóbijjá és Szanballat fölbérelte.

És megismerém, hogy nem az Isten küldötte őt, hanem azt a prófécziát azért mondá nékem, mert Tóbiás és Szanballat felbérelték őt.

And, lo, I perceived that God had not sent him; but that he pronounced this prophecy against me: for Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.

Şi am cunoscut că nu Dumnezeu îl trimitea. Ci a prorocit aşa pentru mine, fiindcă Sanbalat şi Tobia îi dăduseră argint.

And I understood and saw that God had not sent him, but he had pronounced the prophecy against me because Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.

Éspedig azért bérelték föl, hogy megrettenve így cselekedjem, és vétkezzem, és így rossz híremet költhessék és rágalmazhassanak.

Azért vala pedig felbérelve, hogy én megrettenjek és akképen cselekedvén, vétkezzem, hogy így rossz híremet költhessék és rágalmazhassanak.

Therefore was he hired, that I should be afraid, and do so, and sin, and that they might have matter for an evil report, that they might reproach me.

Şi, câştigându-l astfel, nădăjduiau că am să mă tem şi că am să urmez sfaturile lui, şi să fac un păcat. Ei s-ar fi folosit de această atingere a bunului meu nume, ca să mă umple de ocară.

For this purpose he was hired, that I should be afraid and act in this way and sin, and so they could give me a bad name in order to taunt me.

Emlékezzél meg, Istenem, Tóbijjáról és Szanballatról cselekedeteik szerint, és Nóadjá prófétanőről és a többi prófétáról is, akik rémítgettek engem!

Emlékezzél meg én Istenem Tóbiásról és Szanballatról ezen cselekedeteik szerint, és a jövendőmondó Noádja asszonyról és a többi jövendőmondókról is, a kik rémítgetének engem.

My God, think thou upon Tobiah and Sanballat according to these their works, and on the prophetess Noadiah, and the rest of the prophets, that would have put me in fear.

Adu-Ţi aminte, Dumnezeule, de Tobia şi de Sanbalat şi de faptele lor! Adu-Ţi aminte şi de Noadia, prorociţa, şi de ceilalţi proroci care căutau să mă sperie!

Remember Tobiah and Sanballat, O my God, according to these things that they did, and also the prophetess Noadiah and the rest of the prophets who wanted to make me afraid.

A várfal Elúl hónap huszonötödik napján, ötvenkét nap alatt készült el.

Elvégezteték pedig a kőfal Elul hónap huszonötödik napján, ötvenkét nap alatt.

So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty and two days.

Zidul a fost isprăvit în a douăzeci şi cincea zi a lunii Elul, în cincizeci şi două de zile.

So the wall was finished on the twenty-fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty-two days.

Amikor ezt meghallották ellenségeink, megrettent minden nép, amely körülöttünk élt, és igen összeestek a saját szemükben, mert fölismerték, hogy Istenünk segítségével vittük végbe ezt a munkát.

És lőn, hogy midőn meghallák minden mi ellenségeink, megfélemlének minden pogányok, a kik körültünk valának, és igen összeestek a saját szemeikben, és megismerék, hogy a mi Istenünktől vitetett végbe e munka.

And it came to pass, that when all our enemies heard thereof, and all the heathen that were about us saw these things, they were much cast down in their own eyes: for they perceived that this work was wrought of our God.

Când au auzit toţi vrăjmaşii noştri, s-au temut toate popoarele dimprejurul nostru; s-au smerit foarte mult şi au cunoscut că lucrarea se făcuse prin voia Dumnezeului nostru.

And when all our enemies heard of it, all the nations around us were afraid and fell greatly in their own esteem, for they perceived that this work had been accomplished with the help of our God.

Néhány júdai elöljáró is ezekben a napokban sok levelet küldött Tóbijjának, és Tóbijjától is sok levél jött hozzájuk.

E napokban is sok levelet küldének némely zsidó előljárók Tóbiásnak, és viszont Tóbiástól sok jöve hozzájok.

Moreover in those days the nobles of Judah sent many letters unto Tobiah, and the letters of Tobiah came unto them.

În vremea aceea erau unii fruntaşi din Iudeea, care trimiteau deseori scrisori lui Tobia şi primeau şi ei scrisori de la el.

Moreover, in those days the nobles of Judah sent many letters to Tobiah, and Tobiah’s letters came to them.

Mert Júdában sokan szövetkeztek vele, mivel ő volt a veje Sekanjának, Árah fiának, és fia, Jehóhánán Mesullámnak, Berekjá fiának a leányát vette el.

Mert sokan Júdában ő hozzá esküdtek, mivelhogy ő veje vala Sekániának, az Arah fiának, és Jóhanán, az ő fia, Mesullámnak, a Berékia fiának leányát vette volt el.

For there were many in Judah sworn unto him, because he was the son in law of Shechaniah the son of Arah; and his son Johanan had taken the daughter of Meshullam the son of Berechiah.

Căci mulţi din Iuda erau legaţi cu el prin jurământ, pentru că era ginerele lui Şecania, fiul lui Arah, şi fiul său Iohanan luase pe fata lui Meşulam, fiul lui Berechia.

For many in Judah were bound by oath to him, because he was the son-in-law of Shecaniah the son of Arah: and his son Jehohanan had taken the daughter of Meshullam the son of Berechiah as his wife.

Sőt még jótetteit is fölemlegették előttem, az én szavaimat pedig gyakran vitték hírül neki. Tóbijjá pedig folyton leveleket küldözgetett, hogy megfélemlítsen.

Sőt még jó szándékait is emlegetik vala előttem, és az én beszédeimet megvivék néki. Leveleket pedig Tóbiás [folyton] küldött, hogy engem elrettentene.

Also they reported his good deeds before me, and uttered my words to him. And Tobiah sent letters to put me in fear.

Vorbeau bine de el chiar în faţa mea şi-i spuneau cuvintele mele. Tobia trimitea scrisori ca să mă înfricoşeze.

Also they spoke of his good deeds in my presence and reported my words to him. And Tobiah sent letters to make me afraid.
