Közben pedig a köznép és asszonyaik erősen zúgolódni kezdtek zsidó testvéreik ellen.

Lőn pedig nagy kiáltása a népnek és feleségeiknek az ő atyjokfiai, a zsidók ellen.

And there was a great cry of the people and of their wives against their brethren the Jews.

Din partea oamenilor din popor şi din partea nevestelor lor s-au ridicat mari plângeri împotriva fraţilor lor iudei.

Now there arose a great outcry of the people and of their wives against their Jewish brothers.

Voltak, akik ezt mondták: Fiainkkal és leányainkkal együtt sokan vagyunk. Gabona kell nekünk, hogy együnk és élhessünk.

Valának, a kik ezt mondják vala: Fiainkkal és leányainkkal együtt sokadmagunkkal vagyunk, nékünk gabona kell, hogy együnk és éljünk.

For there were that said, We, our sons, and our daughters, are many: therefore we take up corn for them, that we may eat, and live.

Unii ziceau: „Noi, fiii noştri şi fetele noastre suntem mulţi; să ni se dea grâu ca să mâncăm şi să trăim.”

For there were those who said, “With our sons and our daughters, we are many. So let us get grain, that we may eat and keep alive.”

Voltak, akik meg ezt mondták: Mezőinket, szőlőinket, sőt házainkat is zálogba kell adnunk, hogy gabonát vehessünk, mert éhezünk.

És valának, a kik ezt mondják vala: Mind mezeinket, mind szőlőinket, mind házainkat zálogba kell adogatnunk, nékünk gabona kell, mert éhezünk.

Some also there were that said, We have mortgaged our lands, vineyards, and houses, that we might buy corn, because of the dearth.

Alţii ziceau: „Punem zălog ogoarele, viile şi casele noastre, ca să avem grâu în timpul foametei.”

There were also those who said, “We are mortgaging our fields, our vineyards, and our houses to get grain because of the famine.”

Mások pedig így szóltak: Mezőinkre és szőlőinkre pénzt vettünk föl kölcsön, hogy adót tudjunk fizetni a királynak.

Viszontag valának, a kik ezt mondják vala: Kölcsön vettünk pénzt a király adójáért a mi mezeinkre és szőlőinkre;

There were also that said, We have borrowed money for the king's tribute, and that upon our lands and vineyards.

Alţii ziceau: „Am împrumutat argint punând zălog ogoarele şi viile noastre pentru birul împăratului.

And there were those who said, “We have borrowed money for the king’s tax on our fields and our vineyards.

És íme, bár a mi testünk ugyanolyan, mint testvéreink teste, és a mi fiaink is olyanok, mint az ő fiaik, mégis rabságra kell adnunk fiainkat és leányainkat, sőt vannak is már szolgának eladott leányaink, és nincs erőnk arra, hogy őket megváltsuk, hisz mezőink és szőlőink már másokéi.

És ímé, bár a mi testünk épen olyan, mint a mi atyánkfiainak testök, s a mi fiaink olyanok, mint az ő fiaik, mi nékünk mégis rabság alá kell adnunk fiainkat és leányainkat, sőt vannak már rabszolga leányaink is, és nincs erőnk arra, [hogy őket megválthatnók,] hisz mezeink és szőlőink másokéi már!

Yet now our flesh is as the flesh of our brethren, our children as their children: and, lo, we bring into bondage our sons and our daughters to be servants, and some of our daughters are brought unto bondage already: neither is it in our power to redeem them; for other men have our lands and vineyards.

Şi totuşi carnea noastră este ca şi carnea fraţilor noştri, copiii noştri sunt ca şi copiii lor; şi iată, supunem la robie pe fiii noştri şi pe fetele noastre, şi multe din fetele noastre au şi fost supuse la robie; suntem fără putere, căci ogoarele şi viile noastre sunt ale altora.”

Now our flesh is as the flesh of our brothers, our children are as their children. Yet we are forcing our sons and our daughters to be slaves, and some of our daughters have already been enslaved, but it is not in our power to help it, for other men have our fields and our vineyards.”

Igen nagy haragra gerjedtem azért, amikor panaszukat és e dolgokat hallottam.

Felette nagy haragra gerjedtem azért, mikor kiáltásukat s e dolgokat hallottam;

And I was very angry when I heard their cry and these words.

M-am supărat foarte tare când le-am auzit plângerile şi cuvintele acestea.

I was very angry when I heard their outcry and these words.

Magamba mélyedve gondolkodtam erről, majd megróttam az elöljárókat és a főembereket. Ezt mondtam nekik: Ti saját testvéreiteket uzsorázzátok ki! Azután naggyűlést hívtam össze ügyükben,

És magamba [szállva,] gondolkodtam erről, és megfeddém az előljárókat és főembereket, ezt mondván nékik: Ti a ti atyátokfiaival szemben uzsoráskodtok! És szerzék ő ellenök nagy gyűlést;

Then I consulted with myself, and I rebuked the nobles, and the rulers, and said unto them, Ye exact usury, every one of his brother. And I set a great assembly against them.

Am hotărât să mustru pe cei mari şi pe dregători, şi le-am zis: „Ce! Voi împrumutaţi cu camătă fraţilor voştri?” Şi am strâns în jurul meu o mare mulţime

I took counsel with myself, and I brought charges against the nobles and the officials. I said to them, “You are exacting interest, each from his brother.” And I held a great assembly against them

és ezt mondtam nekik: Mi tehetségünk szerint megváltottuk zsidó testvéreinket, akiket eladtak a pogányoknak. Ti pedig el akarjátok adni testvéreiteket, hogy majd nekünk kelljen megvennünk őket?! Erre ők elhallgattak, és nem tudtak felelni semmit.

És mondám nékik: Mi megváltottuk a mi atyánkfiait, a zsidókat, a kik a pogányoknak eladattak vala, a mi tehetségünk szerint; és ti is meg akarjátok venni a ti atyátokfiait, s ők nékünk adják el magokat?! És hallgatának és nem tudának felelni semmit.

And I said unto them, We after our ability have redeemed our brethren the Jews, which were sold unto the heathen; and will ye even sell your brethren? or shall they be sold unto us? Then held they their peace, and found nothing to answer.

şi le-am zis: „Noi am răscumpărat, după puterea noastră, pe fraţii noştri iudei vânduţi neamurilor; şi voi să vindeţi pe fraţii voştri? Şi încă nouă să ne fie vânduţi?” Ei au tăcut, neavând ce să răspundă.

and said to them, “We, as far as we are able, have bought back our Jewish brothers who have been sold to the nations, but you even sell your brothers that they may be sold to us!” They were silent and could not find a word to say.

Akkor ezt mondtam: Nem jó dolog az, amit tesztek. Hát nem akartok Istenünk félelmében járni, hogy valahára ne gyalázzanak már minket a pogányok, a mi ellenségeink?

És mondék: Nem jó dolog ez, a mit ti cselekesztek. Hát nem fogtok a mi Istenünk félelmében járni, hogy [valahára] ne gyalázzanak [már] minket a pogányok, a mi ellenségeink?

Also I said, It is not good that ye do: ought ye not to walk in the fear of our God because of the reproach of the heathen our enemies?

Apoi am zis: „Ce faceţi voi nu este bine. N-ar trebui să umblaţi în frica Dumnezeului nostru, ca să nu fiţi de ocara neamurilor vrăjmaşe nouă?

So I said, “The thing that you are doing is not good. Ought you not to walk in the fear of our God to prevent the taunts of the nations our enemies?

Hiszen magam, testvéreim és szolgáim is kölcsönöztünk nekik pénzt és gabonát. Mi elengedjük e tartozást!

Hiszen én, atyámfiai és legényeim is pénzt és gabonát kölcsönöztünk nékik; engedjük el, kérlek, e tartozást!

I likewise, and my brethren, and my servants, might exact of them money and corn: I pray you, let us leave off this usury.

Şi eu, şi fraţii mei, şi slujitorii mei le-am împrumutat argint şi grâu. Să le lăsăm, dar, datoria aceasta!

Moreover, I and my brothers and my servants are lending them money and grain. Let us abandon this exacting of interest.

Ti is adjátok vissza nekik még ma mezőiket, szőlőiket, olajkertjeiket és házaikat! Sőt ezenfelül a kölcsönadott pénznek, gabonának, bornak és olajnak a kamatát is engedjétek el!

Adjátok vissza, kérlek, nékik még ma az ő mezeiket, szőlőiket, olajkerteiket és házaikat; ennekfelette, a kölcsönadott pénznek, gabonának, bornak és olajnak századát [engedjétek el.]

Restore, I pray you, to them, even this day, their lands, their vineyards, their oliveyards, and their houses, also the hundredth part of the money, and of the corn, the wine, and the oil, that ye exact of them.

Daţi-le înapoi astăzi ogoarele, viile, măslinii şi casele, şi a suta parte din argintul, din grâul, din mustul şi din untdelemnul pe care l-aţi cerut de la ei ca dobândă.”

Return to them this very day their fields, their vineyards, their olive orchards, and their houses, and the percentage of money, grain, wine, and oil that you have been exacting from them.”

Ők így feleltek: Visszaadjuk, és nem veszünk el tőlük semmit. Úgy cselekszünk, ahogy mondod. Ekkor összehívtam a papokat, hogy eskessék meg őket, hogy e beszéd szerint fognak cselekedni.

És felelének: Visszaadjuk és tőlök nem veszünk semmit; úgy cselekszünk, a mint te mondod. Ekkor egybehívám a papokat és megeskettetém őket, hogy e beszéd szerint fognak cselekedni.

Then said they, We will restore them, and will require nothing of them; so will we do as thou sayest. Then I called the priests, and took an oath of them, that they should do according to this promise.

Ei au răspuns: „Le vom da înapoi şi nu le vom cere nimic, vom face cum ai zis.” Atunci am chemat pe preoţi, înaintea cărora i-am pus să jure că îşi vor ţine cuvântul.

Then they said, “We will restore these and require nothing from them. We will do as you say.” And I called the priests and made them swear to do as they had promised.

Ruhámat is megráztam, és azt mondtam: Így rázzon ki Isten minden embert az ő házából és vagyonából, és ilyen kirázott és üres legyen mindenki, aki nem teljesíti ezt a fogadalmat. Az egész gyülekezet pedig rámondta: Ámen. És dicsérték az URat, a nép pedig e szerint a fogadalom szerint cselekedett.

Ruhámat is megrázám és mondék: Épen így rázzon ki az Isten minden embert az ő házából és vagyonából, és épen így legyen kirázatott és üres, valaki meg nem teljesíti e beszédet. És monda az egész gyülekezet: Ámen. És dícsérék az Urat, és e beszéd szerint cselekedett a nép.

Also I shook my lap, and said, So God shake out every man from his house, and from his labour, that performeth not this promise, even thus be he shaken out, and emptied. And all the congregation said, Amen, and praised the LORD. And the people did according to this promise.

Şi mi-am scuturat mantaua, zicând: „Aşa să scuture Dumnezeu afară din Casa Lui şi de averile lui pe orice om care nu-şi va ţine cuvântul, şi aşa să fie scuturat omul acela, şi lăsat cu mâinile goale!” Toată adunarea a zis: „Amin.” Şi au lăudat pe Domnul. Şi poporul s-a ţinut de cuvânt.

I also shook out the fold of my garment and said, “So may God shake out every man from his house and from his labor who does not keep this promise. So may he be shaken out and emptied.” And all the assembly said “Amen” and praised the LORD. And the people did as they had promised.

Sőt attól a naptól fogva, amelyen Júda földjére helytartóul rendeltek, Artahsasztá király huszadik esztendejétől fogva a harminckettedik esztendejéig, azaz tizenkét esztendeig sem én, sem az én testvéreim nem ettük a helytartónak járó kenyeret.

Sőt azon naptól fogva, melyen Júdának földére helytartójukul rendeltettem, Artaxerxes királynak huszadik esztendejétől fogva harminczkettedik esztendejéig, azaz tizenkét esztendeig, sem én, sem az én atyámfiai a helytartónak járó kenyeret nem evénk.

Moreover from the time that I was appointed to be their governor in the land of Judah, from the twentieth year even unto the two and thirtieth year of Artaxerxes the king, that is, twelve years, I and my brethren have not eaten the bread of the governor.

Din ziua când m-a pus împăratul dregător peste ei în ţara lui Iuda, de la al douăzecilea an până la al treizeci şi doilea an al împăratului Artaxerxe, timp de doisprezece ani, nici eu, nici fraţii mei n-am trăit din veniturile cuvenite dregătorului.

Moreover, from the time that I was appointed to be their governor in the land of Judah, from the twentieth year to the thirty-second year of Artaxerxes the king, twelve years, neither I nor my brothers ate the food allowance of the governor.

Holott a korábbi helytartók, akik előttem voltak, megterhelték a népet, és negyven ezüstsékelnél is többet szedtek be tőlük kenyérért és borért, sőt még az embereik is zsarnokoskodtak a népen. De én nem így tettem, mivel félem az Istent.

Holott az előbbi helytartók, a kik én előttem valának, terhelék a népet és vevének tőlök kenyérért és borért negyven ezüst sikluson felül; sőt még legényeik is zsarnokoskodának a népen. De én nem cselekedém így az Isten félelme miatt.

But the former governors that had been before me were chargeable unto the people, and had taken of them bread and wine, beside forty shekels of silver; yea, even their servants bare rule over the people: but so did not I, because of the fear of God.

Înainte de mine, cei dintâi dregători împovărau poporul şi luau de la el pâine şi vin, afară de cei patruzeci de sicli de argint; chiar şi slujitorii lor apăsau poporul. Eu n-am făcut aşa, din frică de Dumnezeu.

The former governors who were before me laid heavy burdens on the people and took from them for their daily ration forty shekels of silver. Even their servants lorded it over the people. But I did not do so, because of the fear of God.

Sőt még a várfalon is dolgoztam, és mezőt nem szereztem, és minden szolgám részt vett ott a munkában.

Sőt még e kőfalon is dolgoztam; mezőt sem szereztünk; s minden én legényeim egybegyűltenek ott a munkára.

Yea, also I continued in the work of this wall, neither bought we any land: and all my servants were gathered thither unto the work.

Ba, mai mult, am lucrat la dregerea zidului acestuia, n-am cumpărat niciun ogor, şi toţi slujitorii mei erau la lucru.

I also persevered in the work on this wall, and we acquired no land, and all my servants were gathered there for the work.

Ráadásul az én asztalomnál evett százötven zsidó főember, továbbá azok, akik a körülöttünk lakó népek közül jöttek hozzánk.

Annakfelette a zsidók, továbbá a másfélszáz főember és a kik jőnek vala mi hozzánk a körültünk lakó pogányok közül, az én asztalomnál [esznek] [vala.]

Moreover there were at my table an hundred and fifty of the Jews and rulers, beside those that came unto us from among the heathen that are about us.

Aveam la masă o sută cincizeci de oameni, iudei şi dregători, afară de cei ce veneau la noi din neamurile dimprejur.

Moreover, there were at my table 150 men, Jews and officials, besides those who came to us from the nations that were around us.

Ezt készítették naponként: egy ökröt, hat kövér juhot, valamint szárnyasokat is készítettek nekem, és tíznaponta bőségesen jutott különféle bor is. Mindemellett én nem kívántam beszedni a helytartónak járó kenyeret, mert nehéz szolgálatot végzett ez a nép.

A mit minden napra készítenek vala: egy ökröt, hat kövér juhot, és madarakat is készítének nékem, minden tíz napra vala mindenféle bor bőségesen; és mindemellett sem kivántam be a helytartó kenyerét, mert nehéz vala a szolgálat ezen a népen.

Now that which was prepared for me daily was one ox and six choice sheep; also fowls were prepared for me, and once in ten days store of all sorts of wine: yet for all this required not I the bread of the governor, because the bondage was heavy upon this people.

Mi se pregătea în fiecare zi un bou, şase berbeci aleşi şi păsări, şi la fiecare zece zile se pregătea din belşug tot vinul care era de trebuinţă. Cu toate acestea, n-am cerut veniturile cuvenite dregătorului, pentru că lucrările apăsau greu asupra poporului acestuia.

Now what was prepared at my expense for each day was one ox and six choice sheep and birds, and every ten days all kinds of wine in abundance. Yet for all this I did not demand the food allowance of the governor, because the service was too heavy on this people.

Emlékezzél meg rólam, Istenem, az én javamra, és mindarról, amit e néppel cselekedtem!

Emlékezzél meg rólam, én Istenem, javamra, mindarról, a mit én e néppel cselekedtem!

Think upon me, my God, for good, according to all that I have done for this people.

Adu-Ţi aminte de mine, spre bine, Dumnezeule, pentru tot ce am făcut pentru poporul acesta!

Remember for my good, O my God, all that I have done for this people.
