Amikor Szanballat meghallotta, hogy építjük a kőfalat, haragra gerjedt, nagyon bosszankodott, és gúnyolta a zsidókat.

Lőn pedig, mikor meghallotta Szanballat, hogy mi építjük a kőfalat, haragra gerjede és felette igen bosszankodék, és gúnyolá a zsidókat;

But it came to pass, that when Sanballat heard that we builded the wall, he was wroth, and took great indignation, and mocked the Jews.

Când a auzit Sanbalat că zidim iarăşi zidul, s-a mâniat şi s-a supărat foarte tare. Şi-a bătut joc de iudei

Now when Sanballat heard that we were building the wall, he was angry and greatly enraged, and he jeered at the Jews.

Ezt mondta testvérei és a samáriai sereg előtt: Mit művelnek e nyomorult zsidók? Vajon megengedték-e ezt nekik? Talán már áldozni is fognak? Még ma be akarják fejezni? Tán életre keltik a köveket e porhalmazból, holott azok elégtek?

És szóla az ő atyjafiai és a samáriai sereg előtt, és ezt mondá: Mit művelnek e nyomorult zsidók? Vajjon megengedik-é ezt nékik? Talán áldozni fognak? Hát bevégezik ma? Avagy megelevenítik a köveket a porhalmazból, holott azok elégtek?!

And he spake before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, What do these feeble Jews? will they fortify themselves? will they sacrifice? will they make an end in a day? will they revive the stones out of the heaps of the rubbish which are burned?

şi a zis înaintea fraţilor săi şi înaintea ostaşilor Samariei: „La ce lucrează aceşti iudei neputincioşi? Oare vor fi lăsaţi să lucreze? Oare vor jertfi? Oare vor isprăvi? Oare vor da ei viaţă unor pietre înmormântate sub mormane de praf şi arse de foc?”

And he said in the presence of his brothers and of the army of Samaria, “What are these feeble Jews doing? Will they restore it for themselves? Will they sacrifice? Will they finish up in a day? Will they revive the stones out of the heaps of rubbish, and burned ones at that?”

Az ammóni Tóbijjá, aki mellette állt, azt mondta: Bármit is építsenek, ha egy róka fölugrik rá, ledönti kőfalukat.

Az Ammonita Tóbiás pedig mellette [állván], mondá: Bármit építsenek, ha egy róka lép fel reá, összezúzza köveiknek falát.

Now Tobiah the Ammonite was by him, and he said, Even that which they build, if a fox go up, he shall even break down their stone wall.

Tobia, amonitul, era lângă el şi a zis: „Să zidească numai! Dacă se va sui o vulpe, le va dărâma zidul lor de piatră.”

Tobiah the Ammonite was beside him, and he said, “Yes, what they are building—if a fox goes up on it he will break down their stone wall!”

Halld meg, ó, Istenünk, hogyan tesznek csúffá bennünket! Fordítsd vissza gyalázásukat az ő fejükre, és add őket prédára a rabság földjén.

Halld meg, oh mi istenünk! hogy csúffá lettünk, fordítsad gyalázásukat az ő fejökre, és add őket prédára a rabságnak földében;

Hear, O our God; for we are despised: and turn their reproach upon their own head, and give them for a prey in the land of captivity:

„Ascultă, Dumnezeul nostru, cum suntem batjocoriţi! Fă să cadă ocările lor asupra capului lor şi dă-i pradă pe un pământ unde să fie robi.

Hear, O our God, for we are despised. Turn back their taunt on their own heads and give them up to be plundered in a land where they are captives.

Ne fedezd el hamisságukat, és bűnüket ne töröld el arcod elől, mert téged bosszantottak az építők előtt!

Ne fedezd el az ő hamisságokat és az ő bűnök a te orczád elől el ne töröltessék, mert [téged] bosszantának az építők előtt!

And cover not their iniquity, and let not their sin be blotted out from before thee: for they have provoked thee to anger before the builders.

Nu le ierta fărădelegea, şi păcatul lor să nu fie şters dinaintea Ta; căci au necăjit pe cei ce zidesc.”

Do not cover their guilt, and let not their sin be blotted out from your sight, for they have provoked you to anger in the presence of the builders.

Mi pedig tovább építettük a falat úgy, hogy már félig elkészült az egész fal, mert a nép nagy kedvvel dolgozott.

És építők a falat annyira, hogy elkészült az egész fal félmagasságban, mert a nép nagy kedvvel dolgozott.

So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work.

Am zidit zidul, care a fost isprăvit pretutindeni până la jumătate din înălţimea lui. Şi poporul lucra cu inimă.

So we built the wall. And all the wall was joined together to half its height, for the people had a mind to work.

Mikor azonban meghallotta Szanballat és Tóbijjá, továbbá az arabok, az ammóniak és az asdódiak, hogy folyik Jeruzsálem várfalának javítása, és a rések betömése megkezdődött, igen nagy haragra gerjedtek.

Mikor pedig meghallotta Szanballat és Tóbiás, továbbá az Arábiabeliek, az Ammoniták és az Asdódeusok, hogy javítgattatnak Jeruzsálem kőfalai, és hogy a törések betömése megkezdődött, felette nagy haragra gerjedének;

But it came to pass, that when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and the Arabians, and the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites, heard that the walls of Jerusalem were made up, and that the breaches began to be stopped, then they were very wroth,

Dar Sanbalat, Tobia, arabii, amoniţii şi asdodienii s-au supărat foarte tare când au auzit că dregerea zidurilor înainta şi că spărturile începeau să se astupe.

But when Sanballat and Tobiah and the Arabs and the Ammonites and the Ashdodites heard that the repairing of the walls of Jerusalem was going forward and that the breaches were beginning to be closed, they were very angry.

Mindnyájan egy akarattal összeesküdtek, hogy eljönnek, megostromolják Jeruzsálemet, és a népet megrémítik.

És összeesküvének mindnyájan egyenlő akarattal, hogy eljőnek Jeruzsálemet megostromolni és [népét] megrémíteni.

And conspired all of them together to come and to fight against Jerusalem, and to hinder it.

S-au unit toţi împreună ca să vină împotriva Ierusalimului şi să-i facă stricăciuni.

And they all plotted together to come and fight against Jerusalem and to cause confusion in it.

Mi azonban imádkoztunk Istenünkhöz, és éjjel-nappal őrséget állítottunk védelmül ellenük.

De mi imádkozánk a mi Istenünkhöz, és állítánk ellenök őrséget nappal és éjjel, mivelhogy féltünk tőlök.

Nevertheless we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night, because of them.

Ne-am rugat Dumnezeului nostru şi am pus o strajă zi şi noapte ca să ne apere împotriva loviturilor lor.

And we prayed to our God and set a guard as a protection against them day and night.

De azt mondták a júdaiak: Fogytán a teherhordók ereje, a rom pedig sok, képtelenek vagyunk építeni a várfalat.

És mondák a zsidók: Fogytán van ereje a tereh-hordónak, a rom pedig sok, és mi képtelenek vagyunk építeni a kőfalat.

And Judah said, The strength of the bearers of burdens is decayed, and there is much rubbish; so that we are not able to build the wall.

Însă Iuda zicea: „Puterile celor ce duc poverile slăbesc, şi dărâmăturile sunt multe; nu vom putea să zidim zidul.”

In Judah it was said, “The strength of those who bear the burdens is failing. There is too much rubble. By ourselves we will not be able to rebuild the wall.”

Ellenségeink pedig azt mondták: Nem is sejtik, nem is veszik észre, egyszer csak bemegyünk közéjük. Megöljük őket, és megállítjuk a munkát.

A mi ellenségeink pedig ezt mondották: Ingyen se tudják meg, se ne lássák, míg közikbe bemegyünk és őket leöljük, és megszüntetjük a munkát.

And our adversaries said, They shall not know, neither see, till we come in the midst among them, and slay them, and cause the work to cease.

Şi vrăjmaşii noştri ziceau: „Nu vor şti şi nu vor vedea nimic până vom ajunge în mijlocul lor; îi vom ucide şi vom face astfel să înceteze lucrarea.”

And our enemies said, “They will not know or see till we come among them and kill them and stop the work.”

Akkor eljöttek hozzánk mindenfelől a zsidók, akik körülöttünk laktak, és tízszer is figyelmeztettek: Térjetek vissza hozzánk!

És lőn, hogy eljöttek hozzánk mindenfelől a zsidók, a kik ő mellettök laknak vala és nékünk tízszer is mondották: Térjetek haza!

And it came to pass, that when the Jews which dwelt by them came, they said unto us ten times, From all places whence ye shall return unto us they will be upon you.

Şi iudeii care locuiau lângă ei, au venit de zece ori şi ne-au înştiinţat despre toate locurile pe unde veneau la noi.

At that time the Jews who lived near them came from all directions and said to us ten times, “You must return to us.”

Azért odaállítottam a népet a hely legalsó, nyílt részére, a várfal mögé nemzetségeik szerint, fegyvereikkel, dárdáikkal és íjaikkal együtt.

Azért állítám a hely alsó és nyilt részeire a kőfal mögé, odaállítám a népet nemzetségek szerint, fegyvereikkel, dárdáikkal és kézíveikkel.

Therefore set I in the lower places behind the wall, and on the higher places, I even set the people after their families with their swords, their spears, and their bows.

De aceea am pus în locurile cele mai de jos dinapoia zidului şi în locurile tari poporul, pe familii, i-am aşezat pe toţi cu săbiile, suliţele şi arcurile lor.

So in the lowest parts of the space behind the wall, in open places, I stationed the people by their clans, with their swords, their spears, and their bows.

Majd körültekintettem, megálltam, és így szóltam az elöljárókhoz, a főemberekhez és a többi néphez: Ne féljetek tőlük! A nagy és rettenetes ÚRra emlékezzetek, és harcoljatok testvéreitekért, fiaitokért, leányaitokért, feleségetekért és házatokért!

És körültekintvén, fölkeltem és így szóltam az előljárókhoz, a főemberekhez és a többi néphez: Ne féljetek tőlök! A nagy és rettenetes Úrra emlékezzetek, és harczoljatok testvéreitekért, fiaitokért, leányaitokért, feleségeitekért és házaitokért!

And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the LORD, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.

M-am uitat şi, sculându-mă, am zis mai marilor, dregătorilor şi celuilalt popor: „Nu vă temeţi de ei! Aduceţi-vă aminte de Domnul cel mare şi înfricoşat şi luptaţi pentru fraţii voştri, pentru fiii voştri şi fetele voastre, pentru nevestele voastre şi pentru casele voastre!”

And I looked and arose and said to the nobles and to the officials and to the rest of the people, “Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your homes.”

Amikor pedig meghallották az ellenségeink, hogy megtudtuk szándékukat, és hogy Isten semmivé tette a tervüket, mindnyájan visszatértünk a várfalhoz, mindenki a maga munkájához.

És lőn, hogy meghallották a mi ellenségeink, hogy megtudtuk [az ő szándékukat], és hogy Isten semmivé tette az ő tanácsokat: megtérénk mi mindnyájan a kőfalhoz, kiki az ő munkájához;

And it came to pass, when our enemies heard that it was known unto us, and God had brought their counsel to nought, that we returned all of us to the wall, every one unto his work.

Când au auzit vrăjmaşii noştri că am fost înştiinţaţi, Dumnezeu le-a nimicit planul, şi ne-am întors cu toţii la zid, fiecare la lucrarea lui.

When our enemies heard that it was known to us and that God had frustrated their plan, we all returned to the wall, each to his work.

De attól a naptól fogva embereimnek csak az egyik fele dolgozott, másik fele pedig dárdákkal, pajzsokkal, íjakkal és páncéllal volt fölfegyverkezve, a fejedelmek pedig ott álltak egész Júda háznépe mögött.

De azon naptól fogva legényeim egyik része munkálkodik vala, a másik része pedig tart vala dárdákat, paizsokat, kézíveket és pánczélokat, és a fejedelmek ott állának az egész Júda háznépe mögött.

And it came to pass from that time forth, that the half of my servants wrought in the work, and the other half of them held both the spears, the shields, and the bows, and the habergeons; and the rulers were behind all the house of Judah.

Din ziua aceea, jumătate din oamenii mei lucrau, iar cealaltă jumătate era înarmată cu suliţe, cu scuturi, cu arcuri şi cu platoşe. Căpeteniile erau înapoia întregii case a lui Iuda.

From that day on, half of my servants worked on construction, and half held the spears, shields, bows, and coats of mail. And the leaders stood behind the whole house of Judah,

A falon munkálkodók és a teherhordók egyik kezükkel a munkát végezték, a másik kezük pedig a fegyvert tartotta.

A kőfalon munkálkodók közül a tehernek hordói egyik kezökkel, a mely a munkát végezé, rakodának, másik kezök pedig a fegyvert tartja vala,

They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laded, every one with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon.

Cei ce zideau zidul şi cei ce duceau sau încărcau poverile, cu o mână lucrau, iar cu alta ţineau arma.

who were building on the wall. Those who carried burdens were loaded in such a way that each labored on the work with one hand and held his weapon with the other.

Akik pedig építettek, azoknak a fegyvere a derekukra volt kötve, és így építettek. A kürtös pedig mellettem állt.

A kik pedig építének, azoknak fegyverök derekokra vala felkötve és így építének; a trombitás pedig mellettem állt.

For the builders, every one had his sword girded by his side, and so builded. And he that sounded the trumpet was by me.

Fiecare din ei, când lucra, îşi avea sabia încinsă la mijloc. Cel ce suna din trâmbiţă stătea lângă mine.

And each of the builders had his sword strapped at his side while he built. The man who sounded the trumpet was beside me.

Majd így szóltam az elöljárókhoz, a főemberekhez és a többi néphez: A munka nagyon sok és kiterjedt, és mi a várfalon elszéledve, messze vagyunk egymástól.

És így szóltam az előljárókhoz, a főemberekhez és a többi néphez: A munka felette sok és messzeterjedő és mi elszéledvén a kőfalon, egymástól messze esünk;

And I said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, The work is great and large, and we are separated upon the wall, one far from another.

Am zis mai marilor, dregătorilor şi celuilalt popor: „Lucrarea este mare şi întinsă, şi noi suntem risipiţi pe zid, departe unii de alţii.

And I said to the nobles and to the officials and to the rest of the people, “The work is great and widely spread, and we are separated on the wall, far from one another.

Azért ha a kürt szavát halljátok, gyűljetek ide hozzánk mindenhonnan. Istenünk harcol értünk!

Azért oda gyűljetek hozzánk, hol a trombita szavát hallándjátok, a mi Istenünk hadakozik érettünk!

In what place therefore ye hear the sound of the trumpet, resort ye thither unto us: our God shall fight for us.

La sunetul trâmbiţei să vă strângeţi la noi, spre locul de unde o veţi auzi. Dumnezeul nostru va lupta pentru noi.”

In the place where you hear the sound of the trumpet, rally to us there. Our God will fight for us.”

Úgy dolgoztunk az építkezésen, hogy a fele dárdát tartott hajnalhasadtától fogva egészen a csillagok följöttéig.

Ekképen munkálkodunk vala; és [legényeimnek] fele dárdákat tart vala hajnalhasadtától fogva mind a csillagoknak feltámadásáig.

So we laboured in the work: and half of them held the spears from the rising of the morning till the stars appeared.

Aşa făceam lucrarea: jumătate din noi stând cu suliţa în mână din zorii zilei până la ivirea stelelor.

So we labored at the work, and half of them held the spears from the break of dawn until the stars came out.

Ugyanakkor megparancsoltam a népnek, hogy minden ember Jeruzsálemben háljon szolgáival együtt, és éjszaka őrködjenek, nappal meg dolgozzanak.

Ugyanekkor megparancsolám a népnek, hogy minden ember legényével Jeruzsálemben háljon, hogy éjszaka őrködjenek felettünk és nappal dolgozzanak.

Likewise at the same time said I unto the people, Let every one with his servant lodge within Jerusalem, that in the night they may be a guard to us, and labour on the day.

În acelaşi timp, am mai zis poporului: „Fiecare să petreacă noaptea în Ierusalim cu slujitorul lui; noaptea să facem de strajă, iar ziua să lucrăm.”

I also said to the people at that time, “Let every man and his servant pass the night within Jerusalem, that they may be a guard for us by night and may labor by day.”

Sem én, sem testvéreim, sem szolgáim, sem a kíséretemben levő őrök nem vetettük le a ruhánkat. Még vízért is mindenki a fegyverével ment.

És sem én, sem az én atyámfiai, sem legényeim, sem az őrizők, a kik én utánam valának, nem vetjük vala le ruháinkat; kiki csak mosódáskor teszi vala le fegyverét.

So neither I, nor my brethren, nor my servants, nor the men of the guard which followed me, none of us put off our clothes, saving that every one put them off for washing.

Şi nu ne-am dezbrăcat de haine, nici eu, nici fraţii mei, nici slujitorii mei, nici oamenii de strajă care erau sub porunca mea. Fiecare se ducea cu armele la apă.

So neither I nor my brothers nor my servants nor the men of the guard who followed me, none of us took off our clothes; each kept his weapon at his right hand.
