Elment Abímelek, Jerubbaal fia Sikembe anyja testvéreihez, és így szólt hozzájuk, valamint az ő anyja apjának egész nemzetségéhez:

És elméne Abimélek, a Jerubbaál fia Sikembe, az ő anyjának atyjafiaihoz, és beszélt velök, valamint az ő anyja atyjának egész nemzetségével, mondván:

And Abimelech the son of Jerubbaal went to Shechem unto his mother's brethren, and communed with them, and with all the family of the house of his mother's father, saying,

Abimelec, fiul lui Ierubaal, s-a dus la Sihem la fraţii mamei lui şi iată cum le-a vorbit, atât lor, cât şi la toată familia casei tatălui mamei sale:

Now Abimelech the son of Jerubbaal went to Shechem to his mother’s relatives and said to them and to the whole clan of his mother’s family,

Mondjátok meg, kérlek, Sikem minden lakosának füle hallatára, melyik jobb nektek: ha hetven férfi, azaz Jerubbaal minden fia uralkodik rajtatok, vagy pedig ha csak egyetlen ember uralkodik fölöttetek? És emlékezzetek arra, hogy én a ti húsotok és a ti véretek vagyok.

Mondjátok meg, kérlek, Sikem minden férfiának hallatára, melyik jobb néktek, hogy hetven férfiú uralkodjék-é rajtatok, Jerubbaálnak minden fia, [vagy] pedig [csak] egy ember uralkodjék felettetek? És emlékezzetek meg [arról], hogy én a ti csontotok és a ti testetek vagyok.

Speak, I pray you, in the ears of all the men of Shechem, Whether is better for you, either that all the sons of Jerubbaal, which are threescore and ten persons, reign over you, or that one reign over you? remember also that I am your bone and your flesh.

„Spuneţi, vă rog, în auzul tuturor locuitorilor din Sihem: „Este mai bine pentru voi ca şaptezeci de oameni, toţi fii ai lui Ierubaal, să stăpânească peste voi sau un singur om să stăpânească peste voi?” Şi aduceţi-vă aminte că eu sunt os din oasele voastre şi carne din carnea voastră.”

“Say in the ears of all the leaders of Shechem, ‘Which is better for you, that all seventy of the sons of Jerubbaal rule over you, or that one rule over you?’ Remember also that I am your bone and your flesh.”

Amikor anyjának testvérei elmondták róla mindezeket a dolgokat az összes sikemi férfi füle hallatára, Abímelek felé hajlott a szívük, mert ezt mondták: Testvérünk ő.

And his mother's brethren spake of him in the ears of all the men of Shechem all these words: and their hearts inclined to follow Abimelech; for they said, He is our brother.

Fraţii mamei lui au spus toate cuvintele acestea pentru el în auzul tuturor locuitorilor din Sihem, şi inima lor s-a plecat spre Abimelec; căci îşi ziceau: „El este frate cu noi.”

And his mother’s relatives spoke all these words on his behalf in the ears of all the leaders of Shechem, and their hearts inclined to follow Abimelech, for they said, “He is our brother.”

És adtak neki hetven ezüstpénzt a Baal-Berít házából. Abímelek pedig ezen hitvány és haszontalan embereket fogadott föl magának, hogy kövessék.

És adának néki hetven ezüst [pénzt] a Baál-Beritnek házából, és ezzel [holmi] henyélő és hiábavaló embereket fogadott magának Abimélek, a kik őt követék.

And they gave him threescore and ten pieces of silver out of the house of Baalberith, wherewith Abimelech hired vain and light persons, which followed him.

I-au dat şaptezeci de sicli de argint, pe care i-au ridicat din casa lui Baal-Berit. Abimelec a cumpărat cu ei pe nişte oameni fără căpătâi şi neastâmpăraţi, care au mers după el.

And they gave him seventy pieces of silver out of the house of Baal-berith with which Abimelech hired worthless and reckless fellows, who followed him.

And he went unto his father's house at Ophrah, and slew his brethren the sons of Jerubbaal, being threescore and ten persons, upon one stone: notwithstanding yet Jotham the youngest son of Jerubbaal was left; for he hid himself.

And he went to his father’s house at Ophrah and killed his brothers the sons of Jerubbaal, seventy men, on one stone. But Jotham the youngest son of Jerubbaal was left, for he hid himself.

Ezután összegyülekezett Sikem egész lakossága és Milló egész háza, és elmentek, és királlyá választották Abímeleket a magas tölgy alatt, amely Sikemben az emlékoszlop mellett áll.

And all the men of Shechem gathered together, and all the house of Millo, and went, and made Abimelech king, by the plain of the pillar that was in Shechem.

Amikor elmondták ezt Jótámnak, ő elment, megállt a Garizim-hegy csúcsán, és fennszóval kiáltva így szólt hozzájuk: Hallgassatok rám, sikemi férfiak, hogy rátok is hallgasson Isten!

And when they told it to Jotham, he went and stood in the top of mount Gerizim, and lifted up his voice, and cried, and said unto them, Hearken unto me, ye men of Shechem, that God may hearken unto you.

When it was told to Jotham, he went and stood on top of Mount Gerizim and cried aloud and said to them, “Listen to me, you leaders of Shechem, that God may listen to you.

Egyszer elmentek a fák, hogy királyt válasszanak maguknak. Azt mondták az olajfának: Uralkodjál fölöttünk!

[Egyszer] elmenvén elmentek a fák, hogy királyt válaszszanak magoknak, és mondának az olajfának: Uralkodjál felettünk!

The trees went forth on a time to anoint a king over them; and they said unto the olive tree, Reign thou over us.

Copacii au plecat să ungă un împărat şi să-l pună în fruntea lor. Ei au zis măslinului: „Împărăţeşte peste noi!”

The trees once went out to anoint a king over them, and they said to the olive tree, ‘Reign over us.’

De az olajfa így felelt nekik: Elhagyjam olajamat, amellyel Istent és embereket tisztelnek, és elmenjek, hogy hajladozzam a fák fölött?

De az olajfa [így] felelt nékik: Elhagyjam az én kövérségemet, a melylyel tisztelnek Istent és embereket, és elmenjek, hogy ingadozzam a fák felett?

But the olive tree said unto them, Should I leave my fatness, wherewith by me they honour God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees?

Dar măslinul le-a răspuns: „Să-mi părăsesc eu untdelemnul meu, care îmi aduce laude din partea lui Dumnezeu şi a oamenilor, ca să mă duc să domnesc peste copaci?”

But the olive tree said to them, ‘Shall I leave my abundance, by which gods and men are honored, and go hold sway over the trees?’

Ekkor a fügefának szóltak a fák: Gyere te, és uralkodj rajtunk!

Akkor a fügefának szólottak a fák: Jer el te, [és] uralkodjál rajtunk!

And the trees said to the fig tree, Come thou, and reign over us.

Şi copacii au zis smochinului: „Vino, tu, de împărăţeşte peste noi!”

And the trees said to the fig tree, ‘You come and reign over us.’

De a fügefa is azt mondta nekik: Elhagyjam-e édességemet és jó gyümölcseimet, és elmenjek hajladozni a fák fölött?

De a fügefa [is] azt mondta nékik: Elhagyjam-é édességemet és jó gyümölcseimet, és elmenjek, hogy ingadozzam a fák felett?

But the fig tree said unto them, Should I forsake my sweetness, and my good fruit, and go to be promoted over the trees?

Dar smochinul le-a răspuns: „Să-mi părăsesc eu dulceaţa mea şi rodul meu cel minunat, ca să mă duc să domnesc peste copaci?”

But the fig tree said to them, ‘Shall I leave my sweetness and my good fruit and go hold sway over the trees?’

Azután a szőlőtőnek mondták a fák: Gyere te, uralkodj rajtunk!

Azután a szőlőtőnek mondák a fák: Jer el te, uralkodjál rajtunk.

Then said the trees unto the vine, Come thou, and reign over us.

Şi copacii au zis viţei: „Vino, tu, şi domneşte peste noi!”

And the trees said to the vine, ‘You come and reign over us.’

Azonban a szőlőtő is azt mondta nekik: Elveszítsem mustomat, amely isteneket és embereket vidámít, és elmenjek, hogy hajladozzam a fák fölött?

Azonban a szőlőtő [is] azt mondta nékik: Elhagyjam-é mustomat, a mely isteneket és embereket vidámít, és elmenjek, hogy ingadozzam a fák felett?

And the vine said unto them, Should I leave my wine, which cheereth God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees?

Dar viţa le-a răspuns: „Să-mi părăsesc eu vinul, care înveseleşte pe Dumnezeu şi pe oameni, ca să mă duc să domnesc peste copaci?”

But the vine said to them, ‘Shall I leave my wine that cheers God and men and go hold sway over the trees?’

Végül a fák mind a galagonyabokorhoz fordultak: Gyere te, és uralkodj rajtunk!

Mondának végre a fák mindnyájan a galagonyabokornak: Jer el te, uralkodjál mi rajtunk.

Then said all the trees unto the bramble, Come thou, and reign over us.

Atunci toţi copacii au zis spinului: „Vino, tu, şi împărăţeşte peste noi.”

Then all the trees said to the bramble, ‘You come and reign over us.’

A galagonyabokor azt mondta a fáknak: Ha igazán királlyá akartok kenni engem magatok fölött, jöjjetek el, nyugodjatok az árnyékomban, mert ha nem, úgy tűz csapjon ki a galagonyabokorból, és eméssze meg Libánon cédrusait.

És monda a galagonyabokor a fáknak: Ha igazán királylyá kentek engem magatok felett, jőjjetek el, nyugodjatok az én árnyékomban: [de] hogyha nem, jőjjön tűz ki a galagonyabokorból, és égesse meg a Libanonnak czédrusait.

And the bramble said unto the trees, If in truth ye anoint me king over you, then come and put your trust in my shadow: and if not, let fire come out of the bramble, and devour the cedars of Lebanon.

Şi spinul a răspuns copacilor: „Dacă, în adevăr, vreţi să mă ungeţi ca împărat al vostru, veniţi şi adăpostiţi-vă sub umbra mea; altfel, să iasă un foc din spin şi să mistuie cedrii Libanului.”

And the bramble said to the trees, ‘If in good faith you are anointing me king over you, then come and take refuge in my shade, but if not, let fire come out of the bramble and devour the cedars of Lebanon.’

Ti vajon igazán és becsületesen cselekedtetek, hogy Abímeleket tettétek királlyá, és jól bántatok-e Jerubbaallal és háza népével, úgy, ahogyan megérdemelte?

Hát ti is most igazán és becsületesen cselekedtetek-é, hogy Abiméleket tettétek királylyá, és jól cselekedtetek-é Jerubbaállal és házanépével, és úgy bántatok-é vele, a mint megérdemelte?

Now therefore, if ye have done truly and sincerely, in that ye have made Abimelech king, and if ye have dealt well with Jerubbaal and his house, and have done unto him according to the deserving of his hands;

Acum, oare cu adevărat şi cu toată curăţia aţi lucrat voi, făcând împărat pe Abimelec? Aţi arătat voi bunăvoinţă faţă de Ierubaal şi de casa lui? V-aţi purtat voi oare cu el potrivit cu slujba pe care v-a făcut-o? –

“Now therefore, if you acted in good faith and integrity when you made Abimelech king, and if you have dealt well with Jerubbaal and his house and have done to him as his deeds deserved—

Mert érettetek harcolt apám, és életével sem törődve mentett meg benneteket Midján kezéből.

Mert érettetek harczolt atyám, és még életével [is] semmit nem gondolván, mentett meg titeket a Midiánnak kezéből.

(For my father fought for you, and adventured his life far, and delivered you out of the hand of Midian:

Căci tatăl meu s-a luptat pentru voi; şi-a pus viaţa în primejdie şi v-a izbăvit din mâna lui Madian;

for my father fought for you and risked his life and delivered you from the hand of Midian,

Ti pedig most fölkeltetek apám háza ellen, és megöltétek gyermekeit, hetven férfit egy kövön, és királlyá választottátok a sikemi férfiak fölött Abímeleket, az ő szolgálója fiát, mert testvéretek.

Ti pedig most felkeltetek az én atyámnak háza ellen, és megöltétek gyermekeit, hetven férfiút egy kövön, és királylyá választottátok Sikem férfiai felett Abiméleket, az ő szolgálójának fiát, mert atyátokfia!

And ye are risen up against my father's house this day, and have slain his sons, threescore and ten persons, upon one stone, and have made Abimelech, the son of his maidservant, king over the men of Shechem, because he is your brother;)

şi voi v-aţi ridicat împotriva casei tatălui meu, i-aţi ucis fiii, şaptezeci de oameni, pe aceeaşi piatră, şi aţi făcut împărat peste locuitorii din Sihem pe Abimelec, fiul roabei lui, pentru că este fratele vostru. –

and you have risen up against my father’s house this day and have killed his sons, seventy men on one stone, and have made Abimelech, the son of his female servant, king over the leaders of Shechem, because he is your relative—

Ha igazán és becsületesen cselekedtetek Jerubbaallal és az ő házával, a mai napon örüljetek Abímeleknek, és örüljön ő is nektek.

Ha igazán és becsületesen cselekedtetek Jerubbaállal és az ő házával a mai napon, örüljetek Abiméleknek, és örüljön ő is néktek;

If ye then have dealt truly and sincerely with Jerubbaal and with his house this day, then rejoice ye in Abimelech, and let him also rejoice in you:

Dacă, în adevăr şi cu toată curăţia, v-aţi purtat voi astăzi faţă de Ierubaal şi casa lui, bine! Abimelec să fie bucuria voastră, şi voi să fiţi bucuria lui!

if you then have acted in good faith and integrity with Jerubbaal and with his house this day, then rejoice in Abimelech, and let him also rejoice in you.

De ha nem, tűz csapjon ki Abímelekből, és eméssze meg a sikemi férfiakat és Milló házát, és tűz csapjon ki a sikemi férfiakból és Milló házából is, és eméssze meg Abímeleket!

De hogyha nem, jőjjön tűz ki Abimélekből, és emészsze meg Sikem férfiait és Milló házát, és származzék tűz Sikem férfiaiból és Milló házából, és emészsze meg Abiméleket!

But if not, let fire come out from Abimelech, and devour the men of Shechem, and the house of Millo; and let fire come out from the men of Shechem, and from the house of Millo, and devour Abimelech.

Dacă nu, să iasă un foc din Abimelec şi să mistuie pe locuitorii din Sihem şi casa lui Milo; şi un foc să iasă din locuitorii Sihemului şi din casa lui Milo şi să mistuie pe Abimelec!”

But if not, let fire come out from Abimelech and devour the leaders of Shechem and Beth-millo; and let fire come out from the leaders of Shechem and from Beth-millo and devour Abimelech.”

Ezután elmenekült Jótám, és futva ment Beérbe, félve testvérétől, Abímelektől, és ott telepedett le.

És elfutott Jóthám, és elmenekült, és elment Beérbe az ő atyjafia, Abimélek elől, és ott telepedett meg.

And Jotham ran away, and fled, and went to Beer, and dwelt there, for fear of Abimelech his brother.

Iotam s-a dat în lături şi a luat-o la fugă; s-a dus la Beer, unde a locuit departe de fratele său Abimelec.

And Jotham ran away and fled and went to Beer and lived there, because of Abimelech his brother.

Abímelek három esztendeig uralkodott Izráel fölött.

Mikor pedig uralkodék Abimélek Izráel felett három esztendeig:

When Abimelech had reigned three years over Israel,

Abimelec stăpânise trei ani peste Israel.

Abimelech ruled over Israel three years.

Isten azonban egy gonosz lelket bocsátott Abímelek és a sikemi férfiak közé, és a sikemi férfiak ezért pártot ütöttek Abímelek ellen,

Then God sent an evil spirit between Abimelech and the men of Shechem; and the men of Shechem dealt treacherously with Abimelech:

And God sent an evil spirit between Abimelech and the leaders of Shechem, and the leaders of Shechem dealt treacherously with Abimelech,

That the cruelty done to the threescore and ten sons of Jerubbaal might come, and their blood be laid upon Abimelech their brother, which slew them; and upon the men of Shechem, which aided him in the killing of his brethren.

pentru ca şi cruzimea săvârşită cu cei şaptezeci de fii ai lui Ierubaal să-şi ia pedeapsa, şi sângele lor să cadă asupra fratelui lor Abimelec, care-i ucisese, şi asupra locuitorilor Sihemului, care-l ajutaseră să ucidă pe fraţii săi.

that the violence done to the seventy sons of Jerubbaal might come, and their blood be laid on Abimelech their brother, who killed them, and on the men of Shechem, who strengthened his hands to kill his brothers.

A sikemi férfiak lest vetettek neki a hegytetőkön, és kiraboltak mindenkit, aki elment mellettük az úton. Ezt tudtára adták Abímeleknek.

And the men of Shechem set liers in wait for him in the top of the mountains, and they robbed all that came along that way by them: and it was told Abimelech.

And the leaders of Shechem put men in ambush against him on the mountaintops, and they robbed all who passed by them along that way. And it was told to Abimelech.

Azután eljött Gaal, Ebed fia, és eljöttek az ő testvérei, és bementek Sikembe. A sikemi férfiak hittek neki.

And Gaal the son of Ebed came with his brethren, and went over to Shechem: and the men of Shechem put their confidence in him.

And Gaal the son of Ebed moved into Shechem with his relatives, and the leaders of Shechem put confidence in him.

Annyira, hogy kimentek a mezőre, leszüretelték szőlőiket, mindjárt ki is taposták, örömünnepet ültek, és bementek istenük házába, ettek és ittak, és szidalmazták Abímeleket.

And they went out into the fields, and gathered their vineyards, and trode the grapes, and made merry, and went into the house of their god, and did eat and drink, and cursed Abimelech.

And they went out into the field and gathered the grapes from their vineyards and trod them and held a festival; and they went into the house of their god and ate and drank and reviled Abimelech.

Gaal, Ebed fia ezt mondta: Ki ez az Abímelek, és kicsoda Sikem, hogy szolgáljunk neki? Nem Jerubbaal fia-e ő, és nem Zebul-e a kormányzója? Ti Hamórnak, Sikem atyjának az embereit szolgáljátok; de mi miért szolgálnánk őt?

És monda Gaál, Ebed fia: Kicsoda Abimélek és kicsoda Sekem, hogy szolgáljunk néki? Nem Jerubbaál fia-é ő, és [nem] Zebul-é az ő kormányzója? Ti szolgáljátok Hámornak, Sekem atyjának férfiait; de miért szolgálnánk mi?

And Gaal the son of Ebed said, Who is Abimelech, and who is Shechem, that we should serve him? is not he the son of Jerubbaal? and Zebul his officer? serve the men of Hamor the father of Shechem: for why should we serve him?

Şi Gaal, fiul lui Ebed, zicea: „Cine este Abimelec şi cine este Sihem, ca să slujim lui Abimelec? Nu este el fiul lui Ierubaal şi nu este Zebul îngrijitorul lui? Slujiţi bărbaţilor lui Hamor, tatăl lui Sihem; de ce să slujim lui Abimelec?

And Gaal the son of Ebed said, “Who is Abimelech, and who are we of Shechem, that we should serve him? Is he not the son of Jerubbaal, and is not Zebul his officer? Serve the men of Hamor the father of Shechem; but why should we serve him?

Volna csak az én kezemben ez a nép, majd elűzném Abímeleket! És megüzente Abímeleknek: Erősítsd meg seregedet, és jöjj ki harcolni!

And would to God this people were under my hand! then would I remove Abimelech. And he said to Abimelech, Increase thine army, and come out.

Oh! Dacă aş fi eu stăpânul acestui popor, aş răsturna pe Abimelec.” Şi despre Abimelec zicea: „Strânge-ţi oştirea şi ieşi!”

Would that this people were under my hand! Then I would remove Abimelech. I would say to Abimelech, ‘Increase your army, and come out.’”

Mikor pedig meghallotta Zebul, a város parancsnoka Gaalnak, Ebed fiának beszédét, nagy haragra gyulladt.

And when Zebul the ruler of the city heard the words of Gaal the son of Ebed, his anger was kindled.

When Zebul the ruler of the city heard the words of Gaal the son of Ebed, his anger was kindled.

Amikor kijött Gaal, Ebed fia, és megállt a város kapuja előtt, fölkelt a lesből Abímelek és a vele levő nép.

És kijött Gaál, az Ebed fia és megállott a város kapujának nyílásában. És felkelt Abimélek is, meg a nép is, mely vele volt, a lesből.

And Gaal the son of Ebed went out, and stood in the entering of the gate of the city: and Abimelech rose up, and the people that were with him, from lying in wait.

Gaal, fiul lui Ebed, a ieşit şi a stat la intrarea porţii cetăţii. Abimelec şi tot poporul care era cu el s-au sculat atunci de la pândă.

And Gaal the son of Ebed went out and stood in the entrance of the gate of the city, and Abimelech and the people who were with him rose from the ambush.

Amint Gaal meglátta a csapatot, ezt mondta Zebulnak: Íme, egy sereg vonul le a hegytetőkről! Zebul pedig ezt felelte neki: A hegyek árnyékát nézed férfiaknak!

And when Gaal saw the people, he said to Zebul, Behold, there come people down from the top of the mountains. And Zebul said unto him, Thou seest the shadow of the mountains as if they were men.

Gaal a zărit poporul şi a zis lui Zebul: „Iată un popor care se coboară din vârful munţilor.” Zebul i-a răspuns: „Este umbra munţilor pe care-i iei drept oameni.”

And when Gaal saw the people, he said to Zebul, “Look, people are coming down from the mountaintops!” And Zebul said to him, “You mistake the shadow of the mountains for men.”

De Gaal csak folytatta beszédét, és azt mondta: Íme, egy másik csapat meg az ország közepéről jön lefelé. A harmadik csapat pedig a jós tölgyfa útján jön.

And Gaal spake again, and said, See there come people down by the middle of the land, and another company come along by the plain of Meonenim.

And it came to pass on the morrow, that the people went out into the field; and they told Abimelech.

And he took the people, and divided them into three companies, and laid wait in the field, and looked, and, behold, the people were come forth out of the city; and he rose up against them, and smote them.

And Abimelech, and the company that was with him, rushed forward, and stood in the entering of the gate of the city: and the two other companies ran upon all the people that were in the fields, and slew them.

And Abimelech fought against the city all that day; and he took the city, and slew the people that was therein, and beat down the city, and sowed it with salt.

And Abimelech fought against the city all that day. He captured the city and killed the people who were in it, and he razed the city and sowed it with salt.

And Abimelech gat him up to mount Zalmon, he and all the people that were with him; and Abimelech took an axe in his hand, and cut down a bough from the trees, and took it, and laid it on his shoulder, and said unto the people that were with him, What ye have seen me do, make haste, and do as I have done.

And Abimelech went up to Mount Zalmon, he and all the people who were with him. And Abimelech took an axe in his hand and cut down a bundle of brushwood and took it up and laid it on his shoulder. And he said to the men who were with him, “What you have seen me do, hurry and do as I have done.”

And Abimelech came unto the tower, and fought against it, and went hard unto the door of the tower to burn it with fire.

Then he called hastily unto the young man his armourbearer, and said unto him, Draw thy sword, and slay me, that men say not of me, A women slew him. And his young man thrust him through, and he died.
