Néhány nap múlva történt, a búzaaratás idején, hogy meglátogatta Sámson a feleségét. Egy kecskegödölyét vitt neki, és ezt mondta: Bemegyek a feleségemhez a hálóházába. De nem hagyta őt bemenni az asszony apja.

But it came to pass within a while after, in the time of wheat harvest, that Samson visited his wife with a kid; and he said, I will go in to my wife into the chamber. But her father would not suffer him to go in.

După câtva timp, pe vremea seceratului grâului, Samson s-a dus să-şi vadă nevasta şi i-a dus un ied. El a zis: „Vreau să intru la nevasta mea în odaia ei.”

After some days, at the time of wheat harvest, Samson went to visit his wife with a young goat. And he said, “I will go in to my wife in the chamber.” But her father would not allow him to go in.

Ezt mondta az apósa: Azt gondoltam, hogy nagyon meggyűlölted őt, ezért hozzáadtam feleségül egyik társadhoz. De hát a húga nem szebb-e, mint ő? Legyen helyette most ő a tied.

And her father said, I verily thought that thou hadst utterly hated her; therefore I gave her to thy companion: is not her younger sister fairer than she? take her, I pray thee, instead of her.

And her father said, “I really thought that you utterly hated her, so I gave her to your companion. Is not her younger sister more beautiful than she? Please take her instead.”

And Samson said concerning them, Now shall I be more blameless than the Philistines, though I do them a displeasure.

And Samson said to them, “This time I shall be innocent in regard to the Philistines, when I do them harm.”

Azért elment Sámson, összefogott háromszáz rókát, csóvákat készített, a rókák farkait egymáshoz kötözte, és egy-egy csóvát tett minden két rókának a farka közé.

And Samson went and caught three hundred foxes, and took firebrands, and turned tail to tail, and put a firebrand in the midst between two tails.

So Samson went and caught 300 foxes and took torches. And he turned them tail to tail and put a torch between each pair of tails.

And when he had set the brands on fire, he let them go into the standing corn of the Philistines, and burnt up both the shocks, and also the standing corn, with the vineyards and olives.

Then the Philistines said, Who hath done this? And they answered, Samson, the son in law of the Timnite, because he had taken his wife, and given her to his companion. And the Philistines came up, and burnt her and her father with fire.

Then the Philistines said, “Who has done this?” And they said, “Samson, the son-in-law of the Timnite, because he has taken his wife and given her to his companion.” And the Philistines came up and burned her and her father with fire.

Sámson pedig ezt mondta nekik: Ámbár ezt cselekedtétek, mégsem nyugszom meg addig, míg bosszúmat ki nem töltöm rajtatok.

And Samson said unto them, Though ye have done this, yet will I be avenged of you, and after that I will cease.

Samson le-a zis: „Aşa faceţi? Nu voi înceta decât după ce mă voi răzbuna pe voi.”

And Samson said to them, “If this is what you do, I swear I will be avenged on you, and after that I will quit.”

És megverte őket keményen, válluktól tomporukig, és lement, és Étámban, a sziklabarlangban lakott.

And he smote them hip and thigh with a great slaughter: and he went down and dwelt in the top of the rock Etam.

And he struck them hip and thigh with a great blow, and he went down and stayed in the cleft of the rock of Etam.

Then the Philistines went up, and pitched in Judah, and spread themselves in Lehi.

Then the Philistines came up and encamped in Judah and made a raid on Lehi.

Akkor azt kérdezték tőlük a júdai férfiak: Miért jöttetek föl ellenünk? Azok pedig ezt felelték: Sámsont megkötözni jöttünk föl, hogy úgy bánjunk vele, ahogy ő bánt mivelünk.

Akkor mondának a Júda férfiai: Miért jöttetek fel ellenünk? Azok pedig mondának: Sámsont megkötözni jöttünk fel, hogy úgy cselekedjünk vele, mint ő cselekedett mi velünk.

And the men of Judah said, Why are ye come up against us? And they answered, To bind Samson are we come up, to do to him as he hath done to us.

Bărbaţii din Iuda au zis: „Pentru ce v-aţi suit împotriva noastră?” Ei au răspuns: „Ne-am suit să legăm pe Samson, ca să-i facem aşa cum ne-a făcut el nouă.”

And the men of Judah said, “Why have you come up against us?” They said, “We have come up to bind Samson, to do to him as he did to us.”

Ekkor háromezer ember ment oda Júdából Étámba a sziklabarlanghoz, és ezt mondták Sámsonnak: Nem tudod-e, hogy a filiszteusok uralkodnak rajtunk? Miért cselekedted ezt velünk? Ő pedig ezt felelte nekik: Ahogy ők bántak velem, én is úgy bántam velük.

Ekkor háromezer ember ment le Júdából Ethamba, a sziklabarlanghoz, és monda Sámsonnak: Nem tudod-é, hogy a Filiszteusok uralkodnak mi rajtunk? Miért cselekedted ezt velünk? Ő pedig monda nékik: A miképen cselekedtek ők velem, én is úgy cselekedtem velök.

Then three thousand men of Judah went to the top of the rock Etam, and said to Samson, Knowest thou not that the Philistines are rulers over us? what is this that thou hast done unto us? And he said unto them, As they did unto me, so have I done unto them.

Atunci trei mii de bărbaţi din Iuda s-au coborât la crăpătura stâncii Etam şi au zis lui Samson: „Nu ştii că filistenii stăpânesc peste noi? Ce ne-ai făcut deci?” El le-a răspuns: „Le-am făcut aşa cum mi-au făcut şi ei mie.”

Then 3,000 men of Judah went down to the cleft of the rock of Etam, and said to Samson, “Do you not know that the Philistines are rulers over us? What then is this that you have done to us?” And he said to them, “As they did to me, so have I done to them.”

Erre azt mondták neki: Azért jöttünk le, hogy megkötözzünk, és a filiszteusok kezébe adjunk. Sámson pedig ezt mondta nekik: Esküdjetek meg nekem, hogy nem rohantok rám.

És mondának néki: [Azért] jöttünk le, hogy megkötözzünk, és hogy a Filiszteusok kezébe adjunk téged. Sámson pedig monda nékik: Esküdjetek meg nékem, hogy ti nem rohantok reám.

And they said unto him, We are come down to bind thee, that we may deliver thee into the hand of the Philistines. And Samson said unto them, Swear unto me, that ye will not fall upon me yourselves.

Ei i-au zis: „Noi ne-am coborât să te legăm, ca să te dăm în mâinile filistenilor.” Samson le-a zis: „Juraţi-mi că nu mă veţi omorî.”

And they said to him, “We have come down to bind you, that we may give you into the hands of the Philistines.” And Samson said to them, “Swear to me that you will not attack me yourselves.”

Azok így feleltek neki: Nem! Csak jól megkötözünk, és a kezükbe adunk, de nem ölünk meg! Azután megkötözték őt két új kötéllel és elvezették a kőszikláról.

És azok felelének néki, mondván: Nem! csak megkötözvén megkötözünk, és kezökbe adunk; de nem ölünk meg téged. Azután megkötözték őt két új kötéllel, és felvezették őt a kőszikláról.

And they spake unto him, saying, No; but we will bind thee fast, and deliver thee into their hand: but surely we will not kill thee. And they bound him with two new cords, and brought him up from the rock.

Ei i-au răspuns: „Nu; vrem numai să te legăm şi să te dăm în mâinile lor, dar nu te vom omorî.” Şi l-au legat cu două funii noi şi l-au scos din stâncă.

They said to him, “No; we will only bind you and give you into their hands. We will surely not kill you.” So they bound him with two new ropes and brought him up from the rock.

Amikor Lehi felé közeledett, és a filiszteusok már ujjongva jöttek elébe, felindította őt az ÚR lelke, és olyanok lettek a karján levő kötelek, mint a lenszálak, amelyeket megperzselt a tűz, és lemállottak a kötések a kezéről.

And when he came unto Lehi, the Philistines shouted against him: and the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and the cords that were upon his arms became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands loosed from off his hands.

When he came to Lehi, the Philistines came shouting to meet him. Then the Spirit of the LORD rushed upon him, and the ropes that were on his arms became as flax that has caught fire, and his bonds melted off his hands.

Talált egy nyers szamárállcsontot, kinyújtotta érte kezét, fölvette, és agyonvert vele ezer embert.

And he found a new jawbone of an ass, and put forth his hand, and took it, and slew a thousand men therewith.

El a găsit o falcă de măgar neuscată încă, a întins mâna şi a luat-o şi a ucis cu ea o mie de oameni.

And he found a fresh jawbone of a donkey, and put out his hand and took it, and with it he struck 1,000 men.

Ezt mondta Sámson: Egy szamár állcsontjával seregeket seregre, egy szamár állcsontjával ezer férfit vertem le.

And Samson said, With the jawbone of an ass, heaps upon heaps, with the jaw of an ass have I slain a thousand men.

Şi Samson a zis: „Cu o falcă de măgar, o grămadă, două grămezi; cu o falcă de măgar am ucis o mie de oameni.”

And Samson said, “With the jawbone of a donkey, heaps upon heaps, with the jawbone of a donkey have I struck down a thousand men.”

Amikor ezt elmondta, eldobta kezéből az állcsontot, és elnevezte azt a helyet Állcsont-magaslatnak.

És mikor ezt elmondotta, elvetette kezéből az állcsontot, és elnevezé azt a helyet Ramath-Lehinek.

And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking, that he cast away the jawbone out of his hand, and called that place Ramathlehi.

După ce a isprăvit de vorbit, a aruncat falca din mână. Şi locul acela s-a numit Ramat-Lehi.

As soon as he had finished speaking, he threw away the jawbone out of his hand. And that place was called Ramath-lehi.

Azután nagyon megszomjazott, és így kiáltott az ÚRhoz: Te adtad szolgád kezébe ezt a nagy győzelmet, és most mégis szomjan kell halnom, vagy a körülmetéletlenek kezébe esnem?!

Azután megszomjúhozék felette igen és felkiáltott az Úrhoz, és monda: Te adtad szolgád kezébe ezt a nagy győzelmet, és most szomjan [kell] meghalnom, és a körülmetéletlenek kezébe jutnom.

And he was sore athirst, and called on the LORD, and said, Thou hast given this great deliverance into the hand of thy servant: and now shall I die for thirst, and fall into the hand of the uncircumcised?

Fiindu-i foarte sete, a strigat către Domnul şi a zis: „Tu ai îngăduit, prin mâna robului Tău, această mare izbăvire; şi acum să mor de sete şi să cad în mâinile celor netăiaţi împrejur?”

And he was very thirsty, and he called upon the LORD and said, “You have granted this great salvation by the hand of your servant, and shall I now die of thirst and fall into the hands of the uncircumcised?”

Akkor meghasította Isten az állcsontban levő zápfogat, és víz fakadt belőle. Ő pedig ivott, ereje visszatért, és megéledt. Ezért nevezik a Kiáltó-forrásnak azt a helyet Lehiben mind e mai napig.

Akkor meghasítá Isten a zápfogat, mely az állcsontban volt, és víz fakadt ki abból. Ő pedig ivott, ereje megtért, és megéledett. Azért neveztetik a "segítségül hívás forrásának" [e hely] Lehiben mind e mai napig,

But God clave an hollow place that was in the jaw, and there came water thereout; and when he had drunk, his spirit came again, and he revived: wherefore he called the name thereof Enhakkore, which is in Lehi unto this day.

Dumnezeu a despicat crăpătura stâncii din Lehi, şi a ieşit apă din ea. Samson a băut, duhul i s-a întremat şi s-a înviorat. De aceea s-a numit izvorul acela En-Hacore el este şi astăzi la Lehi.

And God split open the hollow place that is at Lehi, and water came out from it. And when he drank, his spirit returned, and he revived. Therefore the name of it was called En-hakkore; it is at Lehi to this day.

And he judged Israel in the days of the Philistines twenty years.
