And it came to pass in those days, when there was no king in Israel, that there was a certain Levite sojourning on the side of mount Ephraim, who took to him a concubine out of Bethlehemjudah.

In those days, when there was no king in Israel, a certain Levite was sojourning in the remote parts of the hill country of Ephraim, who took to himself a concubine from Bethlehem in Judah.

And his concubine played the whore against him, and went away from him unto her father's house to Bethlehemjudah, and was there four whole months.

And his concubine was unfaithful to him, and she went away from him to her father’s house at Bethlehem in Judah, and was there some four months.

And her husband arose, and went after her, to speak friendly unto her, and to bring her again, having his servant with him, and a couple of asses: and she brought him into her father's house: and when the father of the damsel saw him, he rejoiced to meet him.

Bărbatul ei s-a sculat şi s-a dus la ea, ca să-i vorbească inimii şi s-o aducă înapoi. Avea cu el pe sluga lui şi doi măgari. Ea l-a adus în casa tatălui ei; şi când l-a văzut tatăl femeii aceleia tinere, l-a primit cu bucurie.

Then her husband arose and went after her, to speak kindly to her and bring her back. He had with him his servant and a couple of donkeys. And she brought him into her father’s house. And when the girl’s father saw him, he came with joy to meet him.

Mivel apósa, a leány apja tartóztatta, három napig nála maradt, és ettek, ittak, és ott is töltötték az éjszakát.

And his father in law, the damsel's father, retained him; and he abode with him three days: so they did eat and drink, and lodged there.

And his father-in-law, the girl’s father, made him stay, and he remained with him three days. So they ate and drank and spent the night there.

Amikor a negyedik napon korán reggel fölkeltek, és fölkészült, hogy elmenjen, azt mondta a leány apja a vejének: Gyűjts erőt egy falat kenyérrel, azután menjetek el!

És mikor a negyedik napon reggel korán felkeltek, és ő felkészült, hogy elmenjen, monda a leánynak atyja az ő vejének: Erősítsd meg szívedet egy falat kenyérrel, azután menjetek el.

And it came to pass on the fourth day, when they arose early in the morning, that he rose up to depart: and the damsel's father said unto his son in law, Comfort thine heart with a morsel of bread, and afterward go your way.

A patra zi, s-au sculat dis-de-dimineaţă, şi levitul se pregătea să plece. Dar tatăl tinerei femei a zis ginerelui său: „Ia o bucată de pâine, ca să prinzi la inimă; şi apoi veţi pleca.”

And on the fourth day they arose early in the morning, and he prepared to go, but the girl’s father said to his son-in-law, “Strengthen your heart with a morsel of bread, and after that you may go.”

Erre leültek mindketten, és együtt ettek és ittak. Majd ezt mondta neki a leány apja: Gondold meg, aludj itt az éjjel, és légy vidám.

És leültek, és mindketten együtt ettek és ittak, és monda a leány atyja a férfiúnak: Gondold meg és hálj itt az éjjel és gyönyörködjék a te szíved.

And they sat down, and did eat and drink both of them together: for the damsel's father had said unto the man, Be content, I pray thee, and tarry all night, and let thine heart be merry.

Şi au şezut de au mâncat şi au băut amândoi. Apoi tatăl tinerei femei a zis bărbatului: „Hotăreşte-te, dar, să rămâi aici la noapte, şi să ţi se înveselească inima.”

So the two of them sat and ate and drank together. And the girl’s father said to the man, “Be pleased to spend the night, and let your heart be merry.”

And when the man rose up to depart, his father in law urged him: therefore he lodged there again.

Bărbatul se scula să plece; dar, în urma stăruinţelor socrului său, a rămas acolo şi noaptea aceea.

And when the man rose up to go, his father-in-law pressed him, till he spent the night there again.

Azután fölkelt az ötödik napon jókor reggel, hogy elmenjen, de azt mondta a leány apja: Gyűjts erőt, kérlek. És addig mulatoztak, amíg lehanyatlott a nap. Így ettek együtt mindketten.

És felkelt azután az ötödik napon jókor reggel, hogy elmenjen, és monda a leánynak atyja: Erősítsd meg, kérlek, a te szívedet. És mulatozának, míg elhanyatlék a nap, és [együtt] evének mindketten.

And he arose early in the morning on the fifth day to depart; and the damsel's father said, Comfort thine heart, I pray thee. And they tarried until afternoon, and they did eat both of them.

În ziua a cincea, s-a sculat dis-de-dimineaţă să plece. Atunci tatăl tinerei femei a zis: „Întăreşte-ţi mai întâi inima, te rog; şi rămâi până ce se va pleca ziua spre seară.” Şi au mâncat amândoi.

And on the fifth day he arose early in the morning to depart. And the girl’s father said, “Strengthen your heart and wait until the day declines.” So they ate, both of them.

Ekkor fölkelt a férfi, és menni készült másodfeleségével és a szolgájával. De az apósa, a leány apja, így szólt hozzá: Íme, a nap már lehanyatlik, hogy beesteledjék, azért aludjatok itt. Íme, nyugalomra hajlik a nap, aludj itt, és légy vidám. Holnap aztán készüljetek föl jókor reggel az utatokra, és menj el a sátradba.

Ekkor felkele az a férfiú, hogy elmenjen ágyasával és szolgájával; de ipa, a leánynak atyja, így szólt hozzá: Ímé a nap már lehanyatlik, hogy beesteledjék, azért háljatok meg itt; ímé nyugalomra hajlik a nap, hálj itt, és gyönyörködjék a te szíved; holnap aztán készüljetek fel jókor reggel a ti útatokra, és menj el sátorodba.

And when the man rose up to depart, he, and his concubine, and his servant, his father in law, the damsel's father, said unto him, Behold, now the day draweth toward evening, I pray you tarry all night: behold, the day groweth to an end, lodge here, that thine heart may be merry; and to morrow get you early on your way, that thou mayest go home.

Bărbatul se scula să plece cu ţiitoarea şi sluga lui, dar socrul său, tatăl tinerei femei, i-a zis: „Iată că ziua a trecut, e târziu, rămâi, dar, peste noapte aici; iată că ziua se pleacă spre noapte, rămâi aici peste noapte, şi să ţi se înveselească inima; mâine vă veţi scula dis-de-dimineaţă ca să porniţi la drum, şi te vei duce la cortul tău.”

And when the man and his concubine and his servant rose up to depart, his father-in-law, the girl’s father, said to him, “Behold, now the day has waned toward evening. Please, spend the night. Behold, the day draws to its close. Lodge here and let your heart be merry, and tomorrow you shall arise early in the morning for your journey, and go home.”

De a férfi nem akart ott aludni. Fölkelt és elment. Egészen Jebúszig, azaz Jeruzsálemig jutott. Egy pár megterhelt szamár és a másodfelesége volt vele.

De a férfiú nem akart [ott] meghálni, és felkelt és elment, és egész Jebusig jutott, - ez Jeruzsálem. Egy pár megterhelt szamár és ágyasa volt vele.

But the man would not tarry that night, but he rose up and departed, and came over against Jebus, which is Jerusalem; and there were with him two asses saddled, his concubine also was with him.

Bărbatul n-a vrut să mai rămână şi în noaptea aceea, ci s-a sculat şi a plecat. A ajuns până în faţa Iebusului, adică Ierusalimul, cu cei doi măgari înşeuaţi şi cu ţiitoarea lui.

But the man would not spend the night. He rose up and departed and arrived opposite Jebus (that is, Jerusalem). He had with him a couple of saddled donkeys, and his concubine was with him.

Mikor pedig Jebúsz mellett voltak, a nap már igen lehanyatlott, és azt mondta a szolga urának: Jöjj, térjünk be ide, a jebúsziak városába, és szálljunk meg ott.

Mikor pedig Jebus mellett voltak, a nap már igen alászállott, és monda a szolga az ő urának: Jerünk és térjünk be a Jebuzeusok e városába, és háljunk ott.

And when they were by Jebus, the day was far spent; and the servant said unto his master, Come, I pray thee, and let us turn in into this city of the Jebusites, and lodge in it.

Când s-au apropiat de Iebus, ziua se plecase mult spre seară. Sluga a zis atunci stăpânului său: „Haidem să ne îndreptăm spre cetatea aceasta a iebusiţilor şi să rămânem în ea peste noapte.”

When they were near Jebus, the day was nearly over, and the servant said to his master, “Come now, let us turn aside to this city of the Jebusites and spend the night in it.”

Ura azt felelte: Ne térjünk be idegenek városába, ahol senki sincs Izráel fiai közül, inkább menjünk el Gibeáig.

És monda néki az ő ura: Ne térjünk be az idegenek városába, a hol senki sincs az Izráel fiai közül, inkább menjünk el Gibeáig.

And his master said unto him, We will not turn aside hither into the city of a stranger, that is not of the children of Israel; we will pass over to Gibeah.

Stăpânul său i-a răspuns: „Nu putem să intrăm într-o cetate străină, unde nu sunt copii de ai lui Israel, ci să mergem până la Ghibeea.”

And his master said to him, “We will not turn aside into the city of foreigners, who do not belong to the people of Israel, but we will pass on to Gibeah.”

Majd ezt mondta a szolgájának: Siess, és menjünk e két hely valamelyikébe, s vagy Gibeában, vagy Rámában szálljunk meg.

És monda az ő szolgájának: Siess, és menjünk e két hely valamelyikébe, és háljunk vagy Gibeában, vagy Rámában.

And he said unto his servant, Come, and let us draw near to one of these places to lodge all night, in Gibeah, or in Ramah.

A mai zis slugii sale: „Haidem să ne apropiem de unul din locurile acestea, Ghibeea sau Rama, şi să rămânem acolo peste noapte.”

And he said to his young man, “Come and let us draw near to one of these places and spend the night at Gibeah or at Ramah.”

Továbbhaladtak tehát, és elmentek onnan. A nap a benjámini Gibea mellett ment le fölöttük.

És tovább vonultak, és elmenének, és a nap Gibea mellett ment le felettök, a mely Benjáminé.

And they passed on and went their way; and the sun went down upon them when they were by Gibeah, which belongeth to Benjamin.

Au mers mai departe, şi apunea soarele când s-au apropiat de Ghibeea, care este a lui Beniamin.

So they passed on and went their way. And the sun went down on them near Gibeah, which belongs to Benjamin,

Akkor befordultak, hogy bemenjenek, és megszálljanak Gibeában. Amikor a lévita bement, leült a város piacán, mert nem volt senki, aki éjszakára behívja őket a házába.

És oda tértek, hogy bemenjenek és megháljanak Gibeában. Mikor pedig oda bement, leült a város piaczán, mert nem volt senki, a ki őket házába behívná éjszakára.

And they turned aside thither, to go in and to lodge in Gibeah: and when he went in, he sat him down in a street of the city: for there was no man that took them into his house to lodging.

S-au îndreptat într-acolo ca să se ducă să rămână peste noapte în Ghibeea. Levitul a intrat şi s-a oprit în piaţa cetăţii. Nu s-a găsit nimeni care să-i primească în casă să rămână peste noapte.

and they turned aside there, to go in and spend the night at Gibeah. And he went in and sat down in the open square of the city, for no one took them into his house to spend the night.

És íme, egy öregember jött a munkából a mezőről késő este. Ez a férfi az Efraim hegyvidékéről való volt, csak jövevény volt Gibeában, míg a helység lakói benjáminiak voltak.

And, behold, there came an old man from his work out of the field at even, which was also of mount Ephraim; and he sojourned in Gibeah: but the men of the place were Benjamites.

Şi iată că un bătrân se întorcea seara de la munca câmpului; omul acesta era din muntele lui Efraim, locuia pentru o vreme la Ghibeea, şi oamenii din locul acela erau beniamiţi.

And behold, an old man was coming from his work in the field at evening. The man was from the hill country of Ephraim, and he was sojourning in Gibeah. The men of the place were Benjaminites.

Amikor fölemelte tekintetét, és meglátta az utast a város piacán, azt kérdezte tőle: Hová mész, és honnan jössz?

És mikor felemelte szemeit, és meglátta azt az utas embert a város piaczán, monda az öreg ember néki: Hová mégy és honnan jösz?

And when he had lifted up his eyes, he saw a wayfaring man in the street of the city: and the old man said, Whither goest thou? and whence comest thou?

El a ridicat ochii şi a văzut pe călător în piaţa cetăţii. Şi bătrânul i-a zis: „Încotro mergi şi de unde vii?”

And he lifted up his eyes and saw the traveler in the open square of the city. And the old man said, “Where are you going? And where do you come from?”

Ő pedig így felelt: A júdai Betlehemből az Efraimhegyvidék széléig megyünk, mert odavaló vagyok. A júdai Betlehemben jártam, és most az ÚR házához megyek, és nincs senki, aki a házába fogadna.

Ez pedig monda néki: Megyünk Júda Bethleheméből az Efraim hegység oldaláig, a honnan való vagyok. Júda Bethlehemében voltam és most az Úr házához megyek, és nincsen senki, a ki házába fogadna engem.

And he said unto him, We are passing from Bethlehemjudah toward the side of mount Ephraim; from thence am I: and I went to Bethlehemjudah, but I am now going to the house of the LORD; and there is no man that receiveth me to house.

El i-a răspuns: „Venim din Betleemul lui Iuda şi mergem până la marginea muntelui lui Efraim, de unde sunt. Mă dusesem la Betleemul lui Iuda, şi acum mă duc la Casa Domnului. Dar nu se găseşte nimeni să mă primească în casă.

And he said to him, “We are passing from Bethlehem in Judah to the remote parts of the hill country of Ephraim, from which I come. I went to Bethlehem in Judah, and I am going to the house of the LORD, but no one has taken me into his house.

Pedig szalmánk és abrakunk is van szamaraink számára, és kenyerem és borom is van magamnak, szolgálólányodnak és ennek az ifjúnak, aki szolgáddal van, úgyhogy semmiben sem szűkölködünk.

Yet there is both straw and provender for our asses; and there is bread and wine also for me, and for thy handmaid, and for the young man which is with thy servants: there is no want of any thing.

Avem însă paie şi nutreţ pentru măgarii noştri; avem şi pâine şi vin pentru mine, pentru roaba ta şi pentru băiatul care este cu robii tăi. Nu ducem lipsă de nimic.”

We have straw and feed for our donkeys, with bread and wine for me and your female servant and the young man with your servants. There is no lack of anything.”

Ekkor ezt mondta az öregember: Békesség neked! Mindarra, amiben csak szűkölködsz, nekem lesz gondom. Csak nem fogsz itt az utcán hálni?!

Ekkor monda a vén ember: Békesség néked! Mindarra, a mi nélkül csak szűkölködöl, nékem lesz gondom. Csak nem hálsz itt az utczán?!

And the old man said, Peace be with thee; howsoever let all thy wants lie upon me; only lodge not in the street.

Bătrânul a zis: „Pacea să fie cu tine! Toate nevoile tale le iau asupra mea, numai să nu rămâi în piaţă peste noapte.”

And the old man said, “Peace be to you; I will care for all your wants. Only, do not spend the night in the square.”

És elvezette házához, és abrakot adott a szamarainak. Azután megmosták a lábukat, és ettek és ittak.

És elvezette őt az ő házához és abrakot adott az ő szamarainak. Azután megmosták lábaikat, és ettek és ittak.

So he brought him into his house, and gave provender unto the asses: and they washed their feet, and did eat and drink.

So he brought him into his house and gave the donkeys feed. And they washed their feet, and ate and drank.

Miközben ők benn jól érezték magukat, íme, a város férfiai, elvetemült emberek, a Beliál fiai körülvették a házat, és az ajtót döngetve azt mondták az öregembernek, a ház urának: Hozd ki azt a férfit, aki házadhoz jött, hadd ismerjük meg őt!

És mikor vígan laknának, ímé a város férfiai, a Béliál fiainak emberei, körülvették a házat, és az ajtót döngetve, mondának az öreg embernek, a ház urának, mondván: Hozd ki azt a férfiút, a ki házadhoz jött, hogy ismerjük meg őtet.

Now as they were making their hearts merry, behold, the men of the city, certain sons of Belial, beset the house round about, and beat at the door, and spake to the master of the house, the old man, saying, Bring forth the man that came into thine house, that we may know him.

Pe când se înveseleau ei, iată că oamenii din cetate, nişte fii ai lui Belial, oameni stricaţi, au înconjurat casa, au bătut la poartă şi au zis bătrânului, stăpânul casei: „Scoate pe omul acela care a intrat la tine, ca să ne împreunăm cu el.”

As they were making their hearts merry, behold, the men of the city, worthless fellows, surrounded the house, beating on the door. And they said to the old man, the master of the house, “Bring out the man who came into your house, that we may know him.”

Erre kiment hozzájuk az a férfi, a ház ura, és azt mondta nekik: Ne, testvéreim, ne tegyetek rosszat! Mivel ez a férfi az én házamhoz jött, ne kövessetek el ilyen alávalóságot.

És kiment hozzájuk az a férfiú, a háznak ura és monda nékik: Ne, atyámfiai, ne cselekedjetek ilyen gonoszt, minekutána az a férfiú az én házamhoz jött, ne tegyétek [vele] azt az alávaló dolgot.

And the man, the master of the house, went out unto them, and said unto them, Nay, my brethren, nay, I pray you, do not so wickedly; seeing that this man is come into mine house, do not this folly.

Stăpânul casei a ieşit la ei şi le-a zis: „Nu, fraţilor, vă rog să nu faceţi un lucru aşa de rău; fiindcă omul acesta a intrat în casa mea, nu săvârşiţi mişelia aceasta.

And the man, the master of the house, went out to them and said to them, “No, my brothers, do not act so wickedly; since this man has come into my house, do not do this vile thing.

Íme, itt van hajadon leányom és a férfi másodfelesége, kihozom őket nektek, őket nyomorgassátok, és tegyetek velük azt, amit csak akartok, csak e férfival ne cselekedjétek azt az alávaló dolgot.

Ímé itt van hajadon leányom és az ő ágyasa, ezeket hozom ki néktek, és ezeket nyomorgassátok, és tegyétek velök azt, a mit csak tetszik, csak e férfiúval ne cselekedjétek azt az alávaló dolgot.

Behold, here is my daughter a maiden, and his concubine; them I will bring out now, and humble ye them, and do with them what seemeth good unto you: but unto this man do not so vile a thing.

Iată că am o fată fecioară, şi omul acesta are o ţiitoare; vi le voi aduce afară: necinstiţi-le şi faceţi-le ce vă va plăcea. Dar nu săvârşiţi cu omul acesta o faptă aşa de nelegiuită.”

Behold, here are my virgin daughter and his concubine. Let me bring them out now. Violate them and do with them what seems good to you, but against this man do not do this outrageous thing.”

A férfiak azonban nem is akartak hallgatni rá. Ekkor kézen fogta a másodfeleségét, és kivitte nekik az utcára. Ezek pedig megszeplősítették őt, és gonoszul éltek vele egész éjszaka reggelig, és csak amikor föltetszett a hajnal, akkor bocsátották el.

A férfiak azonban nem akartak reá se hallgatni. Ekkor [kézen] fogta az a férfiú az ő ágyasát, és kivitte nékik az utczára. Ezek pedig megszeplősíték őt, és gonoszul élének vele egész éjszaka reggelig, és csak mikor feltetszett a hajnal, akkor bocsátották el.

But the men would not hearken to him: so the man took his concubine, and brought her forth unto them; and they knew her, and abused her all the night until the morning: and when the day began to spring, they let her go.

Oamenii aceia n-au vrut să-l asculte. Atunci omul şi-a luat ţiitoarea şi le-a adus-o afară. Ei s-au împreunat cu ea şi şi-au bătut joc de ea toată noaptea până dimineaţa; şi i-au dat drumul când se lumina de ziuă.

But the men would not listen to him. So the man seized his concubine and made her go out to them. And they knew her and abused her all night until the morning. And as the dawn began to break, they let her go.

Then came the woman in the dawning of the day, and fell down at the door of the man's house where her lord was, till it was light.

And as morning appeared, the woman came and fell down at the door of the man’s house where her master was, until it was light.

Mikor pedig fölkelt az ő ura reggel, és kinyitotta a ház ajtaját, és kiment, hogy útnak induljon, íme, az asszony, a másodfelesége ott feküdt elterülve a ház ajtaja előtt, és kezei a küszöbön.

Mikor pedig felkelt az ő ura reggel, és kinyitotta a ház ajtaját, és kiment, hogy útnak induljon, ímé az asszony, az ő ágyasa, ott feküdt elterülve a ház ajtaja előtt, és kezei a küszöbön.

And her lord rose up in the morning, and opened the doors of the house, and went out to go his way: and, behold, the woman his concubine was fallen down at the door of the house, and her hands were upon the threshold.

Şi dimineaţa, bărbatul ei s-a sculat, a deschis uşa casei şi a ieşit ca să-şi urmeze drumul mai departe. Dar iată că femeia, ţiitoarea lui, era întinsă la uşa casei, cu mâinile pe prag.

And her master rose up in the morning, and when he opened the doors of the house and went out to go on his way, behold, there was his concubine lying at the door of the house, with her hands on the threshold.

Ezt mondta neki: Kelj föl, és menjünk el! De az nem felelt neki. Ekkor föltette őt a szamárra, útnak indult, és elment a hazájába.

And he said unto her, Up, and let us be going. But none answered. Then the man took her up upon an ass, and the man rose up, and gat him unto his place.

And when he was come into his house, he took a knife, and laid hold on his concubine, and divided her, together with her bones, into twelve pieces, and sent her into all the coasts of Israel.

Mindenki, aki ezt látta, azt mondta: Nem történt még ilyen, és nem látott senki ehhez hasonló dolgot, mióta csak feljöttek Izráel fiai Egyiptom földjéről, mind e mai napig! Gondolkodjatok e dolog felől, tartsatok tanácsot, és beszéljétek meg.

Lőn pedig, hogy mindenki, a ki ezt látta, azt mondotta: Nem történt és nem láttatott ehhez hasonló dolog, mióta csak feljöttek az Izráel fiai Égyiptomnak földéből mind e mai napig. Gondolkodjatok e dolog felől, tartsatok tanácsot és beszéljétek meg.

And it was so, that all that saw it said, There was no such deed done nor seen from the day that the children of Israel came up out of the land of Egypt unto this day: consider of it, take advice, and speak your minds.

Toţi cei ce au văzut lucrul acesta au zis: „Niciodată nu s-a întâmplat şi nu s-a văzut aşa ceva, de când s-au suit copiii lui Israel din Egipt până în ziua de azi; luaţi aminte, dar, la lucrul acesta, sfătuiţi-vă şi vorbiţi!”

And all who saw it said, “Such a thing has never happened or been seen from the day that the people of Israel came up out of the land of Egypt until this day; consider it, take counsel, and speak.”
