This is the third time I am coming to you. Every charge must be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses.

Előre megmondtam másodszori ottlétemkor, most pedig távollétemben előre mondom azoknak, akik korábban vétkeztek, és a többieknek mind, hogy ha ismét odamegyek, nem leszek kíméletes,

Előre megmondtam és előre mondom, mint másodszori ottlétemkor, és most is távollétemben írom azoknak, a kik ezelőtt vétkeztek, és a többieknek mind, hogy ha ismét odamegyek, nem leszek kíméletes;

I told you before, and foretell you, as if I were present, the second time; and being absent now I write to them which heretofore have sinned, and to all other, that, if I come again, I will not spare:

I warned those who sinned before and all the others, and I warn them now while absent, as I did when present on my second visit, that if I come again I will not spare them—

mivel ti annak bizonyítékát keresitek, hogy általam valóban Krisztus szól, aki veletek szemben nem erőtlen, hanem erős köztetek.

Mert hát az általam szóló Krisztusnak bizonyságát keresitek, a ki irányotokban nem erőtelen, hanem erős ti bennetek.

Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weak, but is mighty in you.

căci căutaţi o dovadă că Hristos vorbeşte în mine: El care nu este slab faţă de voi, ci este plin de putere între voi.

since you seek proof that Christ is speaking in me. He is not weak in dealing with you, but is powerful among you.

Mert noha megfeszíttetett erőtlenségből, mindazáltal él Isten hatalmából. És ha mi erőtlenek vagyunk is őbenne, de vele együtt majd Isten erejéből élünk közöttetek.

For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you.

În adevăr, El a fost răstignit prin slăbiciune; dar trăieşte prin puterea lui Dumnezeu. Tot astfel şi noi suntem slabi în El, dar, prin puterea lui Dumnezeu, vom fi plini de viaţă cu El faţă de voi.

For he was crucified in weakness, but lives by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but in dealing with you we will live with him by the power of God.

Próbáljátok meg magatokat, hogy hitben vagytok-e! Vizsgáljátok meg magatokat! Vagy nem ismeritek fel magatokban, hogy Krisztus Jézus bennetek van? Ha nem, akkor nem álltátok ki a próbát.

Kísértsétek meg magatokat, ha a hitben vagytok-é? magatokat próbáljátok meg. Avagy nem ismeritek-é magatokat, hogy a Jézus Krisztus bennetek van? Kivévén, ha méltatlanok vagytok.

Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

Pe voi înşivă încercaţi-vă dacă sunteţi în credinţă. Pe voi înşivă încercaţi-vă. Nu recunoaşteţi voi că Isus Hristos este în voi? Afară numai dacă sunteţi lepădaţi.

Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test!

De remélem, hogy felismeritek, hogy mi kiálltuk a próbát.

De reménylem, hogy megismeritek, hogy mi nem vagyunk méltatlanok.

But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates.

Dar trag nădejde că veţi recunoaşte că noi nu suntem lepădaţi.

I hope you will find out that we have not failed the test.

Imádkozunk Istenhez, hogy semmi gonoszt ne tegyetek – nem azért, hogy mi kipróbáltaknak mutatkozzunk, hanem hogy ti a jót tegyétek, mi pedig hadd legyünk olyanok, mint akik nem álltuk ki a próbát.

Az Istent pedig kérem, hogy semmi gonoszt ne cselekedjetek; nem hogy mi méltóknak láttassunk, hanem hogy ti a jót cselekedjétek, mi pedig mintegy méltatlanok legyünk.

Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates.

Totuşi ne rugăm lui Dumnezeu să nu faceţi nimic rău; nu pentru ca să ne putem arăta noi înşine primiţi, ci ca să faceţi ce este bine, chiar dacă noi am trece drept lepădaţi.

But we pray to God that you may not do wrong—not that we may appear to have met the test, but that you may do what is right, though we may seem to have failed.

Mert semmit sem tehetünk az igazság ellen, hanem csak az igazságért.

For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.

Căci n-avem nicio putere împotriva adevărului, ci pentru adevăr.

For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth.

Mert örülünk, ha mi erőtlenek vagyunk, ti meg erősek vagytok, és imádkozunk a ti tökéletesedésetekért.

Mert örvendünk, ha mi erőtelenek vagyunk, ti meg erősek vagytok; ezt pedig kérjük is, a ti tökéletesedésetekért.

For we are glad, when we are weak, and ye are strong: and this also we wish, even your perfection.

În adevăr, ne bucurăm când noi suntem slabi, iar voi sunteţi tari; şi ne rugăm pentru desăvârşirea voastră.

For we are glad when we are weak and you are strong. Your restoration is what we pray for.

Azért írom ezeket távollétemben, hogy ottlétemkor ne kelljen keményen fellépnem azzal a hatalommal, amelyet az Úr építésre, nem pedig rombolásra adott nekem.

Azért írom ezeket távollétemben, hogy jelenlétemben ne kelljen keményen viselkednem ama hatalom szerint, a melyet az Úr adott nékem építésre és nem rontásra.

Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should use sharpness, according to the power which the Lord hath given me to edification, and not to destruction.

Tocmai de aceea vă scriu aceste lucruri, când nu sunt de faţă, pentru ca, atunci când voi fi de faţă, să nu mă port cu asprime, potrivit cu puterea pe care mi-a dat-o Domnul pentru zidire, iar nu pentru dărâmare.

For this reason I write these things while I am away from you, that when I come I may not have to be severe in my use of the authority that the Lord has given me for building up and not for tearing down.

Végezetül, testvéreim, örüljetek, épüljetek, buzdítsátok egymást, jussatok egy értelemre, éljetek békességben, és a szeretet és békesség Istene lesz veletek.

Végezetre, atyámfiai, legyetek jó egészségben, épüljetek, vígasztalódjatok, egy értelemben legyetek, békességben éljetek; és a szeretetnek és békességnek Istene lészen veletek.

Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

Încolo, fraţilor, fiţi sănătoşi, desăvârşiţi-vă, îmbărbătaţi-vă, fiţi cu un cuget, trăiţi în pace, şi Dumnezeul dragostei şi al păcii va fi cu voi.

Finally, brothers, rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.
