Krisztus szelídségével és engedékenységével fordulok hozzátok, én, Pál, aki szemtől szemben ugyan alázatos vagyok köztetek, de távollétemben bátor vagyok veletek szemben.

Magam pedig, én Pál, kérlek titeket a Krisztus szelídségére és engedelmességére, a ki szemtől szemben ugyan alázatos vagyok közöttetek, de távol bátor vagyok irántatok;

Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am base among you, but being absent am bold toward you:

Eu, Pavel, vă rog, prin blândeţea şi bunătatea lui Hristos – eu, cel „smerit când sunt de faţă în mijlocul vostru, şi plin de îndrăzneală împotriva voastră, când sunt departe” –

I, Paul, myself entreat you, by the meekness and gentleness of Christ—I who am humble when face to face with you, but bold toward you when I am away!—

Arra kérlek titeket, hogy amikor jelen leszek, ne kelljen bátornak lennem, mert meg vagyok győződve róla, hogy bátor lehetek némelyekkel szemben, akik úgy gondolkodnak felőlünk, mintha mi test szerint élnénk.

Kérlek pedig, hogy a mikor jelen leszek, ne kelljen bátornak lennem ama bizodalomnál fogva, a melylyel úgy gondolom bátor lehetek némelyekkel szemben, a kik úgy gondolkodnak felőlünk, mintha mi test szerint élnénk.

But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.

vă rog, dar, să nu mă faceţi ca, atunci când voi fi de faţă, să alerg cu hotărâre la îndrăzneala aceea pe care am de gând s-o întrebuinţez împotriva unora care îşi închipuie că noi suntem mânaţi de firea pământească.

I beg of you that when I am present I may not have to show boldness with such confidence as I count on showing against some who suspect us of walking according to the flesh.

Mert noha testben élünk, de nem test szerint viaskodunk.

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

Măcar că trăim în firea pământească, totuşi nu ne luptăm călăuziţi de firea pământească.

For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh.

Mert hadakozásunk fegyverei nem testiek, hanem Isten szerint erősek, erősségek lerombolására.

Mert a mi vitézkedésünk fegyverei nem testiek, hanem erősek az Istennek, erősségek lerontására;

(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

Căci armele cu care ne luptăm noi nu sunt supuse firii pământeşti, ci sunt puternice, întărite de Dumnezeu ca să surpe întăriturile.

For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.

Leromboljuk az okoskodásokat és minden magaslatot, amelyet Isten ismerete ellen emeltek, és foglyul ejtünk minden gondolatot, hogy engedelmeskedjék a Krisztusnak,

Lerontván okoskodásokat és minden magaslatot, a mely Isten ismerete ellen emeltetett, és foglyul ejtvén minden gondolatot, hogy engedelmeskedjék a Krisztusnak;

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Noi răsturnăm izvodirile minţii şi orice înălţime care se ridică împotriva cunoştinţei lui Dumnezeu; şi orice gând îl facem rob ascultării de Hristos.

We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,

és készen állunk megbüntetni minden engedetlenséget, mihelyt teljes lesz a ti engedelmességetek.

És készen állván megbüntetni minden engedetlenséget, mihelyst teljessé lesz a ti engedelmességtek.

And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

Îndată ce se va săvârşi ascultarea aceasta din partea voastră, suntem gata să pedepsim orice neascultare.

being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete.

Arra nézzetek, ami a szemetek előtt van! Ha valaki azt hiszi magáról, hogy ő a Krisztusé, vegye számításba azt is, hogy amint ő a Krisztusé, úgy mi is.

A szem előtt valókra néztek? Ha valaki azt hiszi magáról, hogy ő a Krisztusé, viszont azt is gondolja meg önmagában, hogy a mint ő maga a Krisztusé, azonképen mi is a Krisztuséi [vagyunk.]

Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ's, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ's, even so are we Christ's.

La înfăţişare vă uitaţi? Dacă cineva crede că „este al lui Hristos”, să aibă în vedere că, după cum el este al lui Hristos, tot aşa suntem şi noi.

Look at what is before your eyes. If anyone is confident that he is Christ’s, let him remind himself that just as he is Christ’s, so also are we.

Mert ha még egy kissé többet is dicsekszem hatalmunkkal, amelyet az Úr a ti építésetekre, nem pedig a rombolásotokra adott, nem fogok megszégyenülni,

Mert ha még egy kissé felettébb dicsekedem is a mi hatalmunkkal, a melyet az Úr a ti építéstekre és nem megrontásotokra adott, én nem vallok szégyent;

For though I should boast somewhat more of our authority, which the Lord hath given us for edification, and not for your destruction, I should not be ashamed:

Şi, chiar dacă m-aş lăuda ceva mai mult cu stăpânirea pe care mi-a dat-o Domnul pentru zidirea voastră, iar nu pentru dărâmarea voastră, tot nu mi-ar fi ruşine.

For even if I boast a little too much of our authority, which the Lord gave for building you up and not for destroying you, I will not be ashamed.

hogy úgy tűnjek, mintha leveleim által csak ijesztgetnélek titeket.

Hogy ne láttassam, mintha csak ijesztgetnélek a leveleim által.

That I may not seem as if I would terrify you by letters.

Zic aşa, ca să nu se pară că vreau să vă înfricoşez prin epistolele mele.

I do not want to appear to be frightening you with my letters.

Mert úgy mondják, hogy levelei ugyan súlyosak és kemények, de testi megjelenése erőtlen, és beszéde silány.

Mert, úgy mondják, a levelei ugyan súlyosak és kemények; de a maga jelenvolta erőtelen, és beszéde silány.

For his letters, say they, are weighty and powerful; but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible.

„De fapt”, zic ei, „epistolele lui sunt cu greutate şi pline de putere; dar, când este de faţă el însuşi, este moale, şi cuvântul lui n-are nicio greutate.”

For they say, “His letters are weighty and strong, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech of no account.”

Gondolja meg azért, aki ilyen, hogy amilyenek vagyunk szóban, levelek által a távollétünkben, ugyanolyanok leszünk cselekedetben is.

Gondolja meg azt, a ki ilyen, hogy a milyenek vagyunk távol, a levelek által való beszédben, éppen olyanok [leszünk,] ha megjelenünk, cselekedetben is.

Let such an one think this, that, such as we are in word by letters when we are absent, such will we be also in deed when we are present.

Cine judecă aşa să fie încredinţat că, aşa cum suntem în vorbă, în epistolele noastre, când nu suntem de faţă, tot aşa vom fi şi în faptă, când vom fi de faţă!

Let such a person understand that what we say by letter when absent, we do when present.

Mert nem merjük magunkat azokhoz számítani vagy hasonlítani, akik magukat ajánlják, mert azok nem járnak el okosan, hiszen önmagukat magukhoz mérik, és magukhoz hasonlítják.

Mert nem merjük magunkat azokhoz számítani, vagy hasonlítani, a kik magukat ajánlják; de azok magukat magukhoz mérvén és magukhoz hasonlítván magukat, nem okosan cselekesznek.

For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

Negreşit, n-avem îndrăzneala să ne punem alături sau în rândul unora din aceia care se laudă singuri. Dar ei, prin faptul că se măsoară cu ei înşişi şi se pun alături ei cu ei înşişi, sunt fără pricepere.

Not that we dare to classify or compare ourselves with some of those who are commending themselves. But when they measure themselves by one another and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding.

Mi azonban nem mérték nélkül dicsekszünk, hanem annak a mércének a mértéke szerint, amelyet Isten osztott ki nekünk, hogy hozzátok is eljussunk.

De mi nem dicsekszünk mértéktelenül, hanem ama mérőzsinór mértéke szerint, a melyet Isten adott nékünk mértékül, hogy hozzátok is elérjünk.

But we will not boast of things without our measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you.

Noi însă nu ne lăudăm dincolo de măsura noastră, ci în măsura marginilor pe care le-a însemnat Dumnezeu câmpului nostru ca să ajungem până la voi.

But we will not boast beyond limits, but will boast only with regard to the area of influence God assigned to us, to reach even to you.

Mert mi nem léptünk túl azon, mint ha nem értünk volna el hozzátok, hiszen hozzátok is eljutottunk a Krisztus evangéliumával.

Mert nem feszítjük túl magunkat, mintha nem értünk volna el hozzátok; hiszen hozzátok is eljutottunk a Krisztus evangyéliomával.

For we stretch not ourselves beyond our measure, as though we reached not unto you: for we are come as far as to you also in preaching the gospel of Christ:

Nu ne întindem prea mult, ca şi când n-am fi ajuns până la voi, căci, în adevăr, până la voi am ajuns în Evanghelia lui Hristos.

For we are not overextending ourselves, as though we did not reach you. For we were the first to come all the way to you with the gospel of Christ.

Nem dicsekszünk mértéktelenül mások munkájával, de reméljük, hogy hitetek növekedésével naggyá leszünk köztetek a mi mércénk szerint,

A kik nem dicsekeszünk mértéktelenül mások munkájával, de reméljük, hogy hitetek megnőttével nagyokká leszünk köztetek a mi mérőzsinórunk szerint bőségesen.

Not boasting of things without our measure, that is, of other men's labours; but having hope, when your faith is increased, that we shall be enlarged by you according to our rule abundantly,

Nu ne lăudăm peste măsura noastră, adică, nu ne lăudăm cu ostenelile altuia; ci avem nădejdea că, dacă credinţa voastră creşte, va creşte şi câmpul nostru de lucru între voi, nespus de mult, după măsura noastră.

We do not boast beyond limit in the labors of others. But our hope is that as your faith increases, our area of influence among you may be greatly enlarged,

s majd rajtatok túl is hirdetjük az evangéliumot, de nem dicsekszünk azzal, ami a mások munkája nyomán már készen van.

Hogy rajtatok túl is hirdessük az evangyéliomot, nem dicsekedvén más mértéke szerint a készszel.

To preach the gospel in the regions beyond you, and not to boast in another man's line of things made ready to our hand.

Aşa că vom putea propovădui Evanghelia şi în ţinuturile care sunt dincolo de al vostru, fără să intrăm în câmpul de lucru al altuia, ca să ne lăudăm cu lucrări făcute de-a gata.

so that we may preach the gospel in lands beyond you, without boasting of work already done in another’s area of influence.

Aki pedig dicsekszik, az Úrban dicsekedjék,

A ki pedig dicsekszik, az Úrban dicsekedjék.

But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

Ci „oricine se laudă să se laude în Domnul.”

“Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”

mert nem az a kipróbált, aki magát ajánlja, hanem akit az Úr ajánl.

Mert nem az a kipróbált, a ki magát ajánlja, hanem a kit az Úr ajánl.

For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth.

Pentru că nu cine se laudă singur va fi primit, ci acela pe care Domnul îl laudă.

For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
