Mivelhogy ilyen ígéreteink vannak, szeretteim, tisztítsuk meg magunkat minden testi és lelki tisztátalanságtól, és Isten félelmében vigyük véghez megszenteltetésünket.

Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Deci fiindcă avem astfel de făgăduinţe, preaiubiţilor, să ne curăţăm de orice întinăciune a cărnii şi a duhului şi să ne ducem sfinţirea până la capăt, în frica de Dumnezeu.

Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.

Receive us; we have wronged no man, we have corrupted no man, we have defrauded no man.

Înţelegeţi-ne bine! N-am nedreptăţit pe nimeni, n-am vătămat pe nimeni, n-am înşelat pe nimeni.

Make room in your hearts for us. We have wronged no one, we have corrupted no one, we have taken advantage of no one.

Nem vádképpen mondom, hisz előbb mondtam, hogy szívünkben vagytok, hogy együtt haljunk, együtt éljünk.

I speak not this to condemn you: for I have said before, that ye are in our hearts to die and live with you.

Nu spun aceste lucruri ca să vă osândesc, căci am spus mai înainte că sunteţi în inimile noastre pe viaţă şi pe moarte.

I do not say this to condemn you, for I said before that you are in our hearts, to die together and to live together.

Nagy bizalommal vagyok irántatok, sok dicsekednivalóm van felőletek, tele vagyok vigasztalódással, fölöttébb nagy az örömöm minden nyomorúságunk ellenére.

Nagy az én bizodalmam hozzátok, nagy az én dicsekvésem felőletek; telve vagyok vígasztalódással, felettébb való az én örömem minden mi nyomorúságunk mellett.

Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my glorying of you: I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation.

Am o mare încredere în voi. Am tot dreptul să mă laud cu voi. Sunt plin de mângâiere, îmi saltă inima de bucurie în toate necazurile noastre.

I am acting with great boldness toward you; I have great pride in you; I am filled with comfort. In all our affliction, I am overflowing with joy.

Mert amikor Macedóniába érkeztünk, semmi nyugalma nem volt a testünknek, hanem mindenféle zaklatásban volt részünk: kívül harcok, belül félelem.

Mert mikor Macedóniába jöttünk, sem volt semmi nyugodalma a mi testünknek, sőt mindenképen nyomorogtunk; kívül harcz, belől félelem.

For, when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side; without were fightings, within were fears.

Căci, şi după venirea noastră în Macedonia, trupul nostru n-a avut nicio odihnă. Am fost necăjiţi în toate chipurile: de afară, lupte, dinăuntru, temeri.

For even when we came into Macedonia, our bodies had no rest, but we were afflicted at every turn—fighting without and fear within.

De Isten, a megalázottak vigasztalója, minket is megvigasztalt Titusz megérkezésével.

De az Isten, a megalázottak vígasztalója, minket is megvígasztalt Titus megjöttével.

Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus;

Dar Dumnezeu, care mângâie pe cei smeriţi, ne-a mângâiat prin venirea lui Tit.

But God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus,

De nem csupán a megérkezésével, hanem azzal a vigasztalással is, amellyel nálatok megvigasztalódott, hírül hozva nekünk vágyakozásotokat, kesergéseteket és hozzám való ragaszkodásotokat, úgyhogy én még jobban örültem.

Sőt nem megjöttével csupán, hanem azzal a vígasztalással is, a melylyel ti vígasztaltátok meg, hírül hozván nékünk a ti kivánkozástokat, a ti kesergésteket, a ti hozzám való ragaszkodástokat; úgyhogy én mégjobban örvendeztem.

And not by his coming only, but by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you, when he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind toward me; so that I rejoiced the more.

Şi nu numai prin venirea lui, ci şi prin mângâierea cu care a fost mângâiat şi el de voi. El ne-a istorisit despre dorinţa voastră arzătoare, despre lacrimile voastre, despre râvna voastră pentru mine, aşa că bucuria mea a fost şi mai mare.

and not only by his coming but also by the comfort with which he was comforted by you, as he told us of your longing, your mourning, your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced still more.

Mert ha megszomorítottalak is titeket azzal a levéllel, nem bánom, noha bántam, mert látom, hogy az a levél, ha ideig-óráig is, de megszomorított titeket.

For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent, though I did repent: for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season.

Măcar că v-am întristat prin epistola mea, nu-mi pare rău; şi, chiar dacă mi-ar fi părut rău – căci văd că epistola aceea v-a întristat (măcar că pentru puţină vreme) –

For even if I made you grieve with my letter, I do not regret it—though I did regret it, for I see that that letter grieved you, though only for a while.

Most azonban örülök – nem azért, hogy megszomorodtatok, hanem hogy megtérésre szomorodtatok meg. Mert Isten szerint szomorodtatok meg, és miattunk semmiben sem szenvedtetek kárt.

Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.

totuşi acum mă bucur, nu pentru că aţi fost întristaţi, ci pentru că întristarea voastră v-a adus la pocăinţă. Căci aţi fost întristaţi după voia lui Dumnezeu, ca să n-aveţi nicio pagubă din partea noastră.

As it is, I rejoice, not because you were grieved, but because you were grieved into repenting. For you felt a godly grief, so that you suffered no loss through us.

Mert az Isten szerint való szomorúság megbánhatatlan megtérést szerez az üdvösségre, a világ szerint való szomorúság pedig halált szerez.

For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

În adevăr, când întristarea este după voia lui Dumnezeu, aduce o pocăinţă care duce la mântuire şi de care cineva nu se căieşte niciodată; pe când întristarea lumii aduce moartea.

For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death.

Mert íme, ez a ti Isten szerint való megszomorodásotok milyen nagy igyekezetet keltett bennetek, sőt védekezést, sőt bosszankodást, sőt félelmet, sőt vágyakozást, sőt buzgóságot, sőt a vétkes megbüntetését. Mindenképpen bebizonyítottátok, hogy tiszták vagytok e dologban.

Mert ímé ez a ti Isten szerint való megszomorodástok milyen nagy buzgóságot keltett ti bennetek, sőt védekezést, sőt bosszankodást, sőt félelmet, sőt kívánkozást, sőt buzgóságot, sőt bosszúállást. Mindenképen bebizonyítottátok, hogy tiszták vagytok e dologban.

For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.

Căci uite, tocmai întristarea aceasta a voastră, după voia lui Dumnezeu, ce frământare a trezit în voi! Şi ce cuvinte de dezvinovăţire! Ce mânie! Ce frică! Ce dorinţă aprinsă! Ce râvnă! Ce pedeapsă! În toate, voi aţi arătat că sunteţi curaţi în privinţa aceasta.

For see what earnestness this godly grief has produced in you, but also what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what longing, what zeal, what punishment! At every point you have proved yourselves innocent in the matter.

Ha tehát írtam is nektek, nem a sértő és nem is a sértett miatt tettem, hanem hogy nyilvánvaló legyen számotokra az irántunk való buzgóságotok Isten előtt.

Ha tehát írtam is néktek, nem a sértő miatt, sem a sértett miatt; hanem hogy nyilvánvaló legyen nálatok a mi irántatok való buzgóságunk Isten előtt.

Wherefore, though I wrote unto you, I did it not for his cause that had done the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered wrong, but that our care for you in the sight of God might appear unto you.

Aşa că, dacă v-am scris, nu v-am scris nici din pricina celui ce a făcut ocara, nici din pricina celui ce a suferit ocara, ci ca să se arate marea noastră purtare de grijă pentru voi, înaintea lui Dumnezeu.

So although I wrote to you, it was not for the sake of the one who did the wrong, nor for the sake of the one who suffered the wrong, but in order that your earnestness for us might be revealed to you in the sight of God.

Megvigasztalódtunk tehát, de megvigasztalódásunkon túlmenően még sokkal inkább örültünk Titusz örömének, hogy lelkét mindnyájan megnyugtattátok.

Annakokáért megvígasztalódtunk a ti vígasztalástokon; de sokkal inkább örültünk a Titus örömén, hogy az ő lelkét ti mindnyájan megnyugtattátok:

Therefore we were comforted in your comfort: yea, and exceedingly the more joyed we for the joy of Titus, because his spirit was refreshed by you all.

De aceea am fost mângâiaţi. Dar, pe lângă mângâierea aceasta a noastră, ne-am bucurat şi mai mult de bucuria lui Tit, al cărui duh a fost răcorit de voi toţi.

Therefore we are comforted. And besides our own comfort, we rejoiced still more at the joy of Titus, because his spirit has been refreshed by you all.

Mert ha valamit dicsekedtem is neki veletek, nem maradtam szégyenben, hanem amint minden, amit nektek mondtunk, igaz volt, úgy Titusz előtt való dicsekvésünk is igaz lett.

Mert ha dicsekedtem valamit néki felőletek, nem maradtam szégyenben; de a mint ti néktek mindent igazán szólottam, azonképen a mi Titus előtt való dicsekvésünk is igazsággá lett.

For if I have boasted any thing to him of you, I am not ashamed; but as we spake all things to you in truth, even so our boasting, which I made before Titus, is found a truth.

Şi, dacă m-am lăudat puţin cu voi înaintea lui, n-am fost dat de ruşine. Ci, după cum în orice lucru v-am spus adevărul, tot aşa şi lauda noastră cu voi, înaintea lui Tit, s-a adeverit.

For whatever boasts I made to him about you, I was not put to shame. But just as everything we said to you was true, so also our boasting before Titus has proved true.

És ő még jobb szívvel van irántatok, ahogy visszaemlékezik mindnyájatok engedelmességére, hogyan fogadtátok őt félelemmel és rettegéssel.

And his inward affection is more abundant toward you, whilst he remembereth the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling ye received him.

El are o şi mai mare dragoste pentru voi, când îşi aduce aminte de ascultarea voastră a tuturor şi de primirea pe care i-aţi făcut-o, cu frică şi cu cutremur.

And his affection for you is even greater, as he remembers the obedience of you all, how you received him with fear and trembling.

I rejoice therefore that I have confidence in you in all things.
