Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me.

O, de aţi putea suferi puţintică nebunie din partea mea! Ei, haide, suferiţi-mă!

I wish you would bear with me in a little foolishness. Do bear with me!

Mert az Isten szerinti féltő szeretettel féltelek titeket, hisz eljegyeztelek titeket egy férfiúnak, hogy mint szeplőtlen szüzet állítsalak benneteket Krisztus elé.

Mert isteni buzgósággal buzgok értetek; hisz eljegyeztelek titeket egy férfiúnak, hogy mint szeplőtlen szűzet állítsalak a Krisztus elé.

For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

Căci sunt gelos de voi cu o gelozie după voia lui Dumnezeu, pentru că v-am logodit cu un bărbat, ca să vă înfăţişez înaintea lui Hristos ca pe o fecioară curată.

For I feel a divine jealousy for you, since I betrothed you to one husband, to present you as a pure virgin to Christ.

Félek azonban, hogy amint a kígyó ravaszságával megcsalta Évát, úgy a ti gondolataitok is eltávolodnak a Krisztus iránti tisztaságtól és őszinteségtől.

Félek azonban, hogy a miként a kígyó a maga álnokságával megcsalta Évát, akként a ti gondolataitok is megrontatnak [és eltávolodnak] a Krisztus iránt való egyenességtől.

But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

Dar mă tem ca, după cum şarpele a amăgit pe Eva cu şiretlicul lui, tot aşa şi gândurile voastre să nu se strice de la curăţia şi credincioşia care este faţă de Hristos.

But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.

Mert ha valaki jön, és más Jézust hirdet, akit nem hirdettünk, vagy más lelket kapnátok, amelyet nem kaptatok, vagy más evangéliumot, nem azt, amelyet befogadtatok, igencsak eltűrnétek.

Mert hogyha az, a ki jő, más Jézust prédikál, a kit nem prédikáltunk, vagy más lelket vesztek, a mit nem vettetek, vagy más evangyéliomot, a mit be nem fogadtatok, szépen eltűrnétek.

For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

În adevăr, dacă vine cineva să vă propovăduiască un alt Isus pe care noi nu l-am propovăduit sau dacă este vorba să primiţi un alt duh pe care nu l-aţi primit sau o altă Evanghelie pe care n-aţi primit-o, of, cum îl îngăduiţi de bine!

For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it readily enough.

Pedig azt gondolom, hogy semmiben sem vagyok alábbvaló a legfőbb apostoloknál.

Mert én azt gondolom, hogy semmiben sem vagyok alábbvaló a fő-fő apostoloknál.

For I suppose I was not a whit behind the very chiefest apostles.

Dar socotesc că nici eu nu sunt cu nimic mai prejos de apostolii aceştia „nespus de aleşi!”

Indeed, I consider that I am not in the least inferior to these super-apostles.

Lehet, hogy járatlan vagyok az ékesszólásban, de nem az ismeretben, de hát ez mindenben, minden tekintetben és mindnyájatok előtt nyilvánvalóvá lett.

Ha pedig avatatlan [vagyok ]is a beszédben, de nem az ismeretben; sőt mindenben, mindenképen nyilvánvalókká lettünk előttetek.

But though I be rude in speech, yet not in knowledge; but we have been throughly made manifest among you in all things.

Chiar dacă sunt un necioplit în vorbire, nu sunt însă şi în cunoştinţă; şi am arătat lucrul acesta printre voi, în tot felul şi în toate privinţele.

Even if I am unskilled in speaking, I am not so in knowledge; indeed, in every way we have made this plain to you in all things.

Vagy talán vétkeztem, amikor magamat megaláztam, hogy ti felmagasztaltassatok, hogy ingyen hirdettem nektek az Isten evangéliumát?

Avagy vétkeztem-é, mikor magamat megaláztam, hogy ti felmagasztaltassatok, hogy ingyen hírdettem néktek az Isten evangyéliomát?

Have I committed an offence in abasing myself that ye might be exalted, because I have preached to you the gospel of God freely?

Sau am făcut un păcat, când m-am smerit pe mine însumi, ca să fiţi înălţaţi voi, şi v-am vestit fără plată Evanghelia lui Dumnezeu?

Or did I commit a sin in humbling myself so that you might be exalted, because I preached God’s gospel to you free of charge?

Más gyülekezeteket károsítottam meg, amikor támogatást fogadtam el tőlük, hogy nektek szolgáljak.

Más gyülekezeteket fosztottam meg, zsoldot vévén, hogy néktek szolgáljak; és mikor nálatok voltam és szűkölködtem, nem voltam terhére senkinek.

I robbed other churches, taking wages of them, to do you service.

Am despuiat alte biserici, primind de la ele o plată, ca să vă pot sluji vouă.

I robbed other churches by accepting support from them in order to serve you.

Amikor nálatok voltam, és szűkölködtem, nem voltam terhére senkinek, mert az én szükségemet kipótolták a Macedóniából jött testvérek, én pedig vigyáztam arra, és vigyázni is fogok, hogy semmiben se legyek terhetekre.

Mert az én szükségemet kipótolták a Macedóniából jött atyafiak; és rajta voltam és rajta is leszek, hogy semmiben se legyek terhetekre.

And when I was present with you, and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which was lacking to me the brethren which came from Macedonia supplied: and in all things I have kept myself from being burdensome unto you, and so will I keep myself.

Şi când eram la voi şi m-am găsit în nevoie, n-am fost sarcină nimănui; căci de nevoile mele au îngrijit fraţii, când veniseră din Macedonia. În toate m-am ferit şi mă voi feri să vă îngreuiez cu ceva.

And when I was with you and was in need, I did not burden anyone, for the brothers who came from Macedonia supplied my need. So I refrained and will refrain from burdening you in any way.

Mivel Krisztus igazsága van bennem, ettől a dicsekvéstől nem hagyom megfosztani magam Akhája vidékén sem.

As the truth of Christ is in me, no man shall stop me of this boasting in the regions of Achaia.

Pe adevărul lui Hristos care este în mine, nimeni nu-mi va răpi această pricină de laudă în ţinuturile Ahaiei!

As the truth of Christ is in me, this boasting of mine will not be silenced in the regions of Achaia.

Miért? Mert nem szeretlek titeket? Isten jól tudja.

Miért? Hogy nem szeretlek titeket? Tudja az Isten.

Wherefore? because I love you not? God knoweth.

Pentru ce?… Pentru că nu vă iubesc?… Ştie Dumnezeu!

And why? Because I do not love you? God knows I do!

De amit teszek, ezután is tenni fogom, hogy elvegyem a lehetőséget azoktól, akik alkalmat keresnek arra, hogy amivel dicsekszenek, abban olyanoknak bizonyuljanak, mint mi.

De a mit cselekszem, cselekedni is fogom, hogy elvágjam az alkalmat az alkalomkeresők elől; hogy a mivel dicsekesznek, olyanoknak találtassanak [abban], mint mi is.

But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we.

And what I am doing I will continue to do, in order to undermine the claim of those who would like to claim that in their boasted mission they work on the same terms as we do.

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.

Nem is csoda, hisz maga a Sátán is a világosság angyalának adja ki magát.

Nem is csoda; hisz maga a Sátán is átváltoztatja magát világosság angyalává.

And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

Şi nu este de mirare, căci chiar Satana se preface într-un înger de lumină.

And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.

Nem meglepő tehát, ha szolgái is az igazság szolgáinak adják ki magukat, akiknek végük cselekedeteik szerint lesz.

Nem nagy dolog azért, ha az ő szolgái is átváltoztatják magokat az igazság szolgáivá; a kiknek végök az ő cselekedeteik szerint lészen.

Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Nu este mare lucru, dar, dacă şi slujitorii lui se prefac în slujitori ai neprihănirii. Sfârşitul lor va fi după faptele lor.

So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.

I say again, Let no man think me a fool; if otherwise, yet as a fool receive me, that I may boast myself a little.

Iarăşi spun: să nu mă creadă nimeni nebun. Sau altminteri, suferiţi-mă măcar ca nebun, ca să mă laud şi eu puţintel.

I repeat, let no one think me foolish. But even if you do, accept me as a fool, so that I too may boast a little.

Amit mondok, nem az Úr szerint mondom, hanem mintegy esztelenül, ha ilyen alapon dicsekszem.

That which I speak, I speak it not after the Lord, but as it were foolishly, in this confidence of boasting.

Ce spun în această îndrăzneală, ca să mă laud, nu spun după Domnul, ci ca şi cum aş spune din nebunie.

What I am saying with this boastful confidence, I say not as the Lord would but as a fool.

Seeing that many glory after the flesh, I will glory also.

De vreme ce mulţi se laudă după firea pământească, mă voi lăuda şi eu.

Since many boast according to the flesh, I too will boast.

Hiszen ti okosak lévén szívesen eltűritek az eszteleneket.

Hisz okosak lévén, örömest eltűritek az eszteleneket.

For ye suffer fools gladly, seeing ye yourselves are wise.

Doar voi suferiţi cu plăcere pe nebuni, voi, care sunteţi înţelepţi!

For you gladly bear with fools, being wise yourselves!

Mert eltűritek, ha valaki leigáz titeket, ha valaki kifoszt, ha valaki kihasznál, ha valaki hatalmaskodik rajtatok, ha valaki arcul üt titeket.

For ye suffer, if a man bring you into bondage, if a man devour you, if a man take of you, if a man exalt himself, if a man smite you on the face.

Dacă vă robeşte cineva, dacă vă mănâncă cineva, dacă pune cineva mâna pe voi, dacă vă priveşte cineva de sus, dacă vă bate cineva peste obraz, suferiţi!

For you bear it if someone makes slaves of you, or devours you, or takes advantage of you, or puts on airs, or strikes you in the face.

Szégyenkezve mondom, hogy minderre mi erőtlenek voltunk. De ha valaki merész valamiben – esztelenül szólok –, merész vagyok én is.

I speak as concerning reproach, as though we had been weak. Howbeit whereinsoever any is bold, (I speak foolishly,) I am bold also.

Spre ruşinea mea o spun, că am fost slabi! Totuşi, orice poate să pună înainte cineva – vorbesc în nebunie – pot pune şi eu înainte.

To my shame, I must say, we were too weak for that! But whatever anyone else dares to boast of—I am speaking as a fool—I also dare to boast of that.

Krisztus szolgái? Balgatagul szólok, én még inkább, hiszen többet fáradoztam, többször bebörtönöztek, többször megvertek, gyakran kerültem halálos veszedelembe.

Krisztus szolgái-é? (balgatagul szólok) én méginkább; több fáradság, több vereség, több börtön, gyakorta való halálos [veszedelem] által.

Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.

Sunt ei slujitori ai lui Hristos? – vorbesc ca un ieşit din minţi – eu sunt şi mai mult. În osteneli, şi mai mult; în temniţe, şi mai mult; în lovituri, fără număr; de multe ori în primejdii de moarte!

Are they servants of Christ? I am a better one—I am talking like a madman—with far greater labors, far more imprisonments, with countless beatings, and often near death.

Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.

And, apart from other things, there is the daily pressure on me of my anxiety for all the churches.

The God and Father of the Lord Jesus, he who is blessed forever, knows that I am not lying.

In Damascus the governor under Aretas the king kept the city of the Damascenes with a garrison, desirous to apprehend me:
