Testvéreim, nem szeretném, ha nem tudnátok, hogy atyáink mindnyájan a felhő alatt voltak, és mindnyájan a tengeren mentek át,

Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;

For I do not want you to be unaware, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea,

And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual Rock that followed them, and the Rock was Christ.

De többségük elhullott a pusztában, mert Isten nem kedvelte őket.

But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.

Mindez példa számunkra, hogy ne kívánjunk gonosz dolgokat, amint ők kívántak.

Ezek pedig példáink lőnek, hogy mi ne kívánjunk gonosz dolgokat, a miképen azok kívántak.

Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

Şi aceste lucruri s-au întâmplat ca să ne slujească nouă drept pilde, pentru ca să nu poftim după lucruri rele, cum au poftit ei.

Now these things took place as examples for us, that we might not desire evil as they did.

Bálványimádók se legyetek, mint azok közül némelyek, amint meg van írva: Leült a nép enni, inni, és felkeltek játszani.

Se bálványimádók ne legyetek, mint azok közül némelyek, a mint meg van írva: Leüle a nép enni és inni, és felkelének játszani.

Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

Să nu fiţi închinători la idoli, ca unii dintre ei, după cum este scris: „Poporul a şezut să mănânce şi să bea; şi s-au sculat să joace.”

Do not be idolaters as some of them were; as it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play.”

Ne is paráználkodjunk, mint azok közül paráználkodtak némelyek, és elestek egyetlen napon huszonháromezren.

Se pedig ne paráználkodjunk mint azok közül paráználkodtak némelyek, és elestek egy napon huszonháromezeren.

Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

Să nu curvim, cum au făcut unii din ei, aşa că într-o singură zi au căzut douăzeci şi trei de mii.

We must not indulge in sexual immorality as some of them did, and twenty-three thousand fell in a single day.

Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.

Să nu ispitim pe Domnul, cum L-au ispitit unii din ei, care au pierit prin şerpi.

We must not put Christ to the test, as some of them did and were destroyed by serpents,

Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.

Să nu cârtiţi, cum au cârtit unii din ei, care au fost nimiciţi de nimicitorul.

nor grumble, as some of them did and were destroyed by the Destroyer.

Mindezek pedig példaképpen történtek velük, és a mi tanulságunkra írattak meg, akikhez az időknek vége elérkezett.

Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

Aceste lucruri li s-au întâmplat ca să ne slujească drept pilde şi au fost scrise pentru învăţătura noastră, peste care au venit sfârşiturile veacurilor.

Now these things happened to them as an example, but they were written down for our instruction, on whom the end of the ages has come.

Azért aki azt gondolja, hogy áll, vigyázzon, hogy el ne essék.

Azért a ki azt hiszi, hogy áll, meglássa, hogy el ne essék.

Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

Astfel, dar, cine crede că stă în picioare să ia seama să nu cadă.

Therefore let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall.

Nem emberi erőn felüli kísértés esett rajtatok, mert Isten hű, és ő nem hagy titeket feljebb kísértetni, mint elszenvedhetitek, sőt a kísértéssel együtt a kimenekülést is megadja majd, hogy el tudjátok hordozni.

Nem egyéb, hanem csak emberi kísértés esett rajtatok: de hű az Isten, a ki nem hágy titeket feljebb kísértetni, mint elszenvedhetitek; sőt a kísértéssel egyetemben a kimenekedést is megadja majd, hogy elszenvedhessétek.

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Nu v-a ajuns nicio ispită care să nu fi fost potrivită cu puterea omenească. Şi Dumnezeu, care este credincios, nu va îngădui să fiţi ispitiţi peste puterile voastre; ci, împreună cu ispita, a pregătit şi mijlocul să ieşiţi din ea, ca s-o puteţi răbda.

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

Azért szerelmeseim, kerüljétek a bálványimádást.

Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.

De aceea, preaiubiţii mei, fugiţi de închinarea la idoli.

Mint értelmesekhez szólok, ítéljétek meg ti magatok, amit mondok.

Mint okosokhoz szólok, ítéljétek meg ti, a mit mondok.

I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.

Vă vorbesc ca unor oameni cu judecată; judecaţi voi singuri ce spun.

I speak as to sensible people; judge for yourselves what I say.

Az áldás pohara, amelyet megáldunk, nem a Krisztus vérével való közösségünk-e? A kenyér, amelyet megtörünk, nem a Krisztus testével való közösségünk-e?

A hálaadásnak pohara, a melyet megáldunk, nem a Krisztus vérével való közösségünk-é? A kenyér, a melyet megszegünk, nem a Krisztus testével való közösségünk-é?

The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?

Paharul binecuvântat, pe care-l binecuvântăm, nu este el împărtăşirea cu sângele lui Hristos? Pâinea pe care o frângem, nu este ea împărtăşirea cu trupul lui Hristos?

The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ?

Nézzétek meg a test szerint való Izráelt! Akik az áldozatokat eszik, nincsenek-e közösségben az oltárral?

Tekintsétek meg a test szerint való Izráelt! A kik az áldozatokat eszik, avagy nincsenek-é közösségben az oltárral?

Behold Israel after the flesh: are not they which eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar?

Uitaţi-vă la Israelul după trup: cei ce mănâncă jertfele nu sunt ei în împărtăşire cu altarul?

Consider the people of Israel: are not those who eat the sacrifices participants in the altar?

Mit mondok ezzel? Netán azt, hogy a bálványáldozat valami, vagy hogy a bálvány valami?

What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing?

What do I imply then? That food offered to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything?

Nem, hanem sokkal inkább azt, hogy amit a pogányok áldoznak, ördögöknek áldozzák és nem Istennek. Én pedig nem akarom, hogy ti az ördögökkel legyetek közösségben.

Sőt, hogy a mit a pogányok áldoznak, ördögöknek áldozzák és nem Istennek; nem akarom pedig, hogy ti az ördögökkel legyetek közösségben.

But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.

Dimpotrivă, eu zic că ce jertfesc Neamurile jertfesc dracilor, şi nu lui Dumnezeu. Şi eu nu vreau ca voi să fiţi în împărtăşire cu dracii.

No, I imply that what pagans sacrifice they offer to demons and not to God. I do not want you to be participants with demons.

Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.

Nu puteţi bea paharul Domnului şi paharul dracilor; nu puteţi lua parte la masa Domnului şi la masa dracilor.

You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons.

Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?

Minden szabad, de nem minden használ, minden szabad, de nem minden épít.

All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

Senki se a maga javát keresse, hanem a másét.

Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth.

Nimeni să nu-şi caute folosul lui, ci fiecare să caute folosul altuia.

Mindent, amit a mészárszékben árulnak, megehettek anélkül, hogy ezt lelkiismereti kérdéssé tennétek,

Mindent, a mit a mészárszékben árulnak, megegyetek, semmit sem tudakozódván a lelkiismeret miatt.

Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake:

Să mâncaţi din tot ce se vinde pe piaţă, fără să cercetaţi ceva din pricina cugetului.

Eat whatever is sold in the meat market without raising any question on the ground of conscience.

Ha valaki meghív titeket a hitetlenek közül, és el akartok menni, mindazt megegyétek, amit elétek hoznak, anélkül hogy ezt lelkiismereti kérdéssé tennétek.

Ha pedig valaki meghív titeket a hitetlenek közül és el akartok menni, mindent, a mit elétek hoznak, megegyetek, semmit sem tudakozódván a lelkiismeret miatt.

If any of them that believe not bid you to a feast, and ye be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake.

Dacă vă pofteşte un necredincios la o masă, şi voiţi să vă duceţi, să mâncaţi din tot ce vă pune înainte, fără să cercetaţi ceva din pricina cugetului.

If one of the unbelievers invites you to dinner and you are disposed to go, eat whatever is set before you without raising any question on the ground of conscience.

De ha valaki azt mondja nektek: Ez bálványáldozati hús, ne egyétek meg amiatt, aki erre figyelmeztetett, és a lelkiismeretért.

But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof:

Dar dacă vă spune cineva: „Lucrul acesta a fost jertfit idolilor”, să nu mâncaţi, din pricina celui ce v-a înştiinţat şi din pricina cugetului; căci „al Domnului este pământul şi tot ce cuprinde el.”

But if someone says to you, “This has been offered in sacrifice,” then do not eat it, for the sake of the one who informed you, and for the sake of conscience—

Én azonban nem a ti saját lelkiismeretetekről beszélek, hanem a másikéról. Mert az én szabadságomat miért ítélje meg másnak a lelkiismerete?

De nem a tulajdon lelkiismeretet értem, hanem a másikét. Mert miért kárhoztassa az én szabadságomat a más lelkiismerete?

Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other: for why is my liberty judged of another man's conscience?

Vorbesc aici nu de cugetul vostru, ci de cugetul altuia. Căci de ce să fie judecată slobozenia mea de cugetul altuia?

I do not mean your conscience, but his. For why should my liberty be determined by someone else’s conscience?

For if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?

If I partake with thankfulness, why am I denounced because of that for which I give thanks?

Tehát akár esztek, akár isztok, akármit cselekedtek, mindent Isten dicsőségére tegyetek.

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:

Én is mindenkinek mindenben kedvében járok, nem keresve a magam hasznát, hanem a többiekét, hogy üdvözüljenek.

Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.

După cum mă silesc şi eu în toate lucrurile să plac tuturor, căutând nu folosul meu, ci al celor mai mulţi, ca să fie mântuiţi.

just as I try to please everyone in everything I do, not seeking my own advantage, but that of many, that they may be saved.
