Azután így szólt hozzám az ÚR szava:

És lőn az Úr beszéde hozzám, mondván:

Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

Cuvântul Domnului mi-a vorbit astfel:

The word of the LORD came to me:

Embernek fia! Szólj néped fiaihoz, és ezt mondd nekik: Ha fegyvert bocsátok egy országra, és az ország népe választ maguk közül egy férfit, és őrállóvá teszi őt,

Embernek fia! szólj néped fiaihoz és mondjad nékik: Mikor hozándok fegyvert valamely földre, és a föld népe választ egy férfit ő magok közül, és őt őrállójokká teszik:

Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:

„Fiul omului, vorbeşte copiilor poporului tău şi spune-le: „Când voi aduce sabia peste vreo ţară, şi poporul ţării va lua din mijlocul lui pe un om oarecare şi-l va pune ca străjer,

“Son of man, speak to your people and say to them, If I bring the sword upon a land, and the people of the land take a man from among them, and make him their watchman,

az pedig amikor látja jönni a fegyvert az országra, megfújja a kürtöt, és meginti a népet,

És ő látja jőni a fegyvert a földre, és megfújja a trombitát, és meginti a népet;

If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;

dacă omul acela va vedea venind sabia asupra ţării, va suna din trâmbiţă şi va da de ştire poporului,

and if he sees the sword coming upon the land and blows the trumpet and warns the people,

akkor, ha valaki hallja a kürtszót, de nem hajlik az intésre, s azután eljön a fegyver, és utoléri, vére a saját fejére száll.

Ha valaki hallándja a trombitaszót, de nem hajt az intésre, s aztán a fegyver eljő és őt utóléri: az ő vére az ő fején lesz.

Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.

şi dacă cel ce va auzi sunetul trâmbiţei nu se va feri, şi va veni sabia şi-l va prinde, sângele lui să cadă asupra capului lui.

then if anyone who hears the sound of the trumpet does not take warning, and the sword comes and takes him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.

Hallotta a kürtszót, de nem hajlott az intésre, tehát vére fejére száll. Mert ha hajlott volna az intésre, megmenthette volna a lelkét.

Hallotta a trombitaszót, de nem hajtott az intésre, tehát az ő vére ő rajta lesz; és ha hajtott az intésre, megmentette lelkét.

He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.

Fiindcă a auzit sunetul trâmbiţei, şi nu s-a ferit, de aceea, sângele lui să cadă asupra lui; dar, dacă se va feri, îşi va scăpa viaţa.

He heard the sound of the trumpet and did not take warning; his blood shall be upon himself. But if he had taken warning, he would have saved his life.

Ha pedig az őrálló látja jönni a fegyvert, de nem fújja meg a kürtöt, és a nép nem kap intést, akkor, ha eljön a fegyver, és utoléri közülük valakinek a lelkét, azt a saját bűne érte utol, de vérét az őrálló kezéből kérem számon.

Ha pedig az őrálló látja a fegyvert jőni, s nem fújja meg a trombitát, és a nép nem kap intést, és eljő a fegyver s utólér közülök valamely lelket, ez a maga vétke miatt éretett utól, de vérét az őrálló kezéből kérem elő.

But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.

Dacă însă străjerul va vedea venind sabia, şi nu va suna din trâmbiţă, şi dacă poporul nu va fi înştiinţat, şi va veni sabia şi va răpi viaţa vreunui om, omul acela va pieri din pricina nelegiuirii lui, dar voi cere sângele lui din mâna străjerului.”

But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, so that the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any one of them, that person is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.

Téged, embernek fia, őrállóul adtalak Izráel házának, hogy ha szót hallasz a számból, intsd meg őket az én nevemben.

És te, embernek fia, őrállóul adtalak téged Izráel házának, hogy ha szót hallasz a számból, megintsed őket az én nevemben.

So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.

Acum, fiul omului, te-am pus străjer peste casa lui Israel. Tu trebuie să asculţi cuvântul care iese din gura Mea şi să-i înştiinţezi din partea Mea.

“So you, son of man, I have made a watchman for the house of Israel. Whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from me.

Ha azt mondom a bűnösnek: „Te bűnös, halálnak halálával halsz meg”, és te nem szólsz, hogy visszatérítsd a gonoszt az ő útjáról, az a gonosz a saját bűne miatt hal meg, de a vérét a te kezedből kérem számon.

When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

Când zic celui rău: „Răule, vei muri negreşit!”, şi tu nu-i spui, ca să-l întorci de la calea lui cea rea, răul acela va muri în nelegiuirea lui, dar sângele lui îl voi cere din mâna ta.

If I say to the wicked, O wicked one, you shall surely die, and you do not speak to warn the wicked to turn from his way, that wicked person shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand.

De ha megintetted a gonoszt az ő útja miatt, hogy térjen meg róla, de az nem tért meg útjáról, akkor ő meghal a saját gonoszsága miatt, de te megmentetted a lelkedet.

De ha te megintetted a hitetlent az ő útja felől, hogy térjen meg róla, de nem tért meg útjáról, ő vétke miatt meghal, de te megmentetted a te lelkedet.

Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

Dar, dacă vei înştiinţa pe cel rău, ca să se întoarcă de la calea lui, şi el nu se va întoarce, va muri în nelegiuirea lui, dar tu îţi vei mântui sufletul.

But if you warn the wicked to turn from his way, and he does not turn from his way, that person shall die in his iniquity, but you will have delivered your soul.

Te pedig, embernek fia, így szólj Izráel házához: Ezt mondjátok: „Bizony bűneink és vétkeink rajtunk vannak, és elsorvadunk miattuk! Hogyan is élhetnénk túl ezt?”

Te pedig, embernek fia, mondjad Izráel házának: Ezt mondjátok, mondván: Bizony a mi bűneink és vétkeink rajtunk vannak, és bennök mi megrothadunk, mimódon éljünk azért?

Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live?

Spune, dar, fiul omului, casei lui Israel: „Voi cu drept cuvânt ziceţi: „Fărădelegile şi păcatele noastre sunt asupra noastră şi din pricina lor tânjim; cum am putea să trăim?”

“And you, son of man, say to the house of Israel, Thus have you said: ‘Surely our transgressions and our sins are upon us, and we rot away because of them. How then can we live?’

Mondd meg nekik: Élek én – ezt mondja az én Uram, az ÚR –, hogy nem gyönyörködöm a gonosz halálában, hanem abban, hogy a gonosz megtérjen az útjáról, és éljen. Térjetek meg, térjetek meg gonosz útjaitokról! Miért halnátok meg, ó, Izráel háza?

Mondjad nékik: Élek én, ezt mondja az Úr Isten, hogy nem gyönyörködöm a hitetlen halálában, hanem hogy a hitetlen megtérjen útjáról és éljen. Térjetek meg, térjetek meg gonosz útaitokról! hiszen miért halnátok meg, oh Izráel háza!?

Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

Spune-le: „Pe viaţa Mea, zice Domnul Dumnezeu, că nu doresc moartea păcătosului, ci să se întoarcă de la calea lui, şi să trăiască. Întoarceţi-vă, întoarceţi-vă de la calea voastră cea rea! Pentru ce vreţi să muriţi voi, casa lui Israel?”

Say to them, As I live, declares the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live; turn back, turn back from your evil ways, for why will you die, O house of Israel?

Te pedig, embernek fia, szólj néped fiaihoz: Az igazat nem menti meg igazsága azon a napon, amelyen vétkezik, és a gonosz sem esik el gonoszsága miatt azon a napon, amelyen megtér gonoszságából. Az igaz nem élhet az ő igazsága által azon a napon, amelyen vétkezik.

Te pedig, embernek fia, szólj néped fiaihoz: Az igaznak igazsága meg nem menti őt a napon, a melyen vétkezendik, és a hitetlen hitetlensége által el nem esik a napon, melyen megtérend hitetlenségéből, és az igaz nem élhet az [ő igazsága] által a napon, melyen vétkezendik.

Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth.

Şi tu, fiul omului, spune copiilor poporului tău: „Neprihănirea celui neprihănit nu-l va mântui în ziua fărădelegii lui, şi cel rău nu va cădea lovit de răutatea lui în ziua când se va întoarce de la ea, după cum nici cel neprihănit nu va putea să trăiască prin neprihănirea lui în ziua când va săvârşi o fărădelege.

“And you, son of man, say to your people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him when he transgresses, and as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall by it when he turns from his wickedness, and the righteous shall not be able to live by his righteousness when he sins.

Ha azt mondom az igaznak, hogy biztosan életben marad, de ő igazságában bizakodva gonoszságot cselekszik, akkor nem lesz emlékezete semmilyen igazságának, hanem meghal gonoszsága miatt, amelyet cselekedett.

Mikor ezt mondom az igazról: Élvén éljen; és ő bízván igazságában, gonoszságot cselekszik: semmi igazsága emlékezetbe nem jő, és gonoszsága miatt, melyet cselekedett, meghal.

When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.

Când zic celui neprihănit că va trăi negreşit – dacă se încrede în neprihănirea lui, şi săvârşeşte nelegiuirea, atunci toată neprihănirea lui se va uita, şi el va muri din pricina nelegiuirii pe care a săvârşit-o.

Though I say to the righteous that he shall surely live, yet if he trusts in his righteousness and does injustice, none of his righteous deeds shall be remembered, but in his injustice that he has done he shall die.

S ha azt mondom a gonosznak: „Biztosan meghalsz”, de ő megtér vétkéből, és a törvény szerint igazságot cselekszik;

S ha mondom a hitetlennek: halállal halsz meg; és ő megtér bűnéből és törvény szerint s igazságot cselekszik;

Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;

Dimpotrivă, când zic celui rău: „Vei muri!” – dacă se întoarce de la păcatul lui şi face ce este bine şi plăcut,

Again, though I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ yet if he turns from his sin and does what is just and right,

ha visszaadja a gonosz a zálogot, megtéríti a rabolt dolgokat, az élet rendelkezései szerint jár, és nem cselekszik gonoszságot, biztosan életben marad, és nem hal meg.

Zálogot visszaad a hitetlen, rablottat megtérít, az életnek parancsolatiban jár, többé nem cselekedvén gonoszságot: élvén él, [és] meg nem hal.

If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.

dacă dă înapoi zălogul, întoarce ce a răpit, urmează învăţăturile care dau viaţa şi nu săvârşeşte nicio nelegiuire, va trăi negreşit, şi nu va muri.

if the wicked restores the pledge, gives back what he has taken by robbery, and walks in the statutes of life, not doing injustice, he shall surely live; he shall not die.

Egyetlen vétke sem jön számításba, amellyel vétkezett. Törvény szerint és igazságot cselekedett, bizony élni fog!

Semmi ő vétke, melylyel vétkezett, emlékezetbe nem jön néki; törvény szerint és igazságot cselekedett, élvén él.

None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.

Toate păcatele pe care le-a săvârşit se vor uita; a făcut ce este bine şi plăcut, şi va trăi negreşit!

None of the sins that he has committed shall be remembered against him. He has done what is just and right; he shall surely live.

Néped fiai azt mondják: Nem egyenes az ÚR útja! Holott az ő útjuk nem egyenes.

És ezt mondják néped fiai: Nem igazságos az Úrnak útja; holott az ő útjok nem igazságos.

Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal.

Copiii poporului tău zic: „Calea Domnului nu este dreaptă!” Totuşi mai degrabă calea lor nu este dreaptă!

“Yet your people say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just,’ when it is their own way that is not just.

Ha az igaz elfordul igazságától, és gonoszságot cselekszik, meghal miatta.

Mikor az igaz elfordul az ő igazságától s gonoszságot cselekszik, meghal a miatt.

When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby.

Dacă cel neprihănit se abate de la neprihănirea lui şi săvârşeşte nelegiuirea, trebuie să moară din pricina aceasta.

When the righteous turns from his righteousness and does injustice, he shall die for it.

És ha a gonosz elfordul gonoszságától, és törvény szerint igazságot cselekszik, élni fog ezáltal.

És mikor a hitetlen elfordul az ő hitetlenségétől és törvény szerint s igazságot cselekszik, él a miatt.

But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby.

Dar dacă cel rău se întoarce de la răutatea lui şi face ce este bine şi plăcut, va trăi tocmai din pricina aceasta!

And when the wicked turns from his wickedness and does what is just and right, he shall live by this.

Azt mondjátok: Nem egyenes az ÚR útja. Én mindegyikőtöket a maga útja szerint ítélem meg, Izráel háza.

És azt mondjátok: Nem igazságos az Úrnak útja: mindeniteket az ő útja szerint ítélem meg, Izráel háza.

Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways.

Fiindcă ziceţi: „Calea Domnului nu este dreaptă!”, vă voi judeca pe fiecare după umbletele lui, casa lui Israel!”

Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ O house of Israel, I will judge each of you according to his ways.”

Fogságunk tizenkettedik esztendejében, a tizedik hónapban, a hónap ötödik napján egy menekült jött hozzám Jeruzsálemből, és azt mondta: Bevették a várost!

És lőn fogságunknak tizenkettedik esztendejében, a tizedik hónapban, a hónap ötödikén, jöve hozzám egy menekült Jeruzsálemből, mondván: Megvétetett a város!

And it came to pass in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth month, in the fifth day of the month, that one that had escaped out of Jerusalem came unto me, saying, The city is smitten.

În al doisprezecelea an, în ziua a cincea a lunii a zecea a robiei noastre, un om care scăpase din Ierusalim a venit la mine şi a zis: „Cetatea a fost luată!”

In the twelfth year of our exile, in the tenth month, on the fifth day of the month, a fugitive from Jerusalem came to me and said, “The city has been struck down.”

Az ÚR keze rajtam volt a menekült érkezése előtti este, és reggel megnyitotta számat, mielőtt az hozzám érkezett. Megnyílt a szám, és nem voltam többé néma.

És az Úrnak keze lőn én rajtam este a menekült eljötte előtt, és megnyitá számat, mikorra az hozzám jöve reggel, és megnyilatkozék szám, s nem valék néma többé.

Now the hand of the LORD was upon me in the evening, afore he that was escaped came; and had opened my mouth, until he came to me in the morning; and my mouth was opened, and I was no more dumb.

Dar mâna Domnului venise peste mine seara, înainte de venirea fugarului la mine, şi Domnul îmi deschisese gura până a venit el la mine dimineaţa. Gura îmi era deschisă, şi nu mai eram mut.

Now the hand of the LORD had been upon me the evening before the fugitive came; and he had opened my mouth by the time the man came to me in the morning, so my mouth was opened, and I was no longer mute.

Akkor így szólt hozzám az ÚR szava:

És lőn az Úr beszéde hozzám, mondván:

Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

Atunci cuvântul Domnului mi-a vorbit astfel:

The word of the LORD came to me:

Embernek fia! Azok, akik a romok között laknak Izráel földjén, azt mondják: „Ábrahám egymaga volt, amikor örökségül kapta a földet, mi pedig sokan vagyunk, akik örökségül kaptuk ezt a földet.”

Embernek fia! azok, kik amaz elpusztított helyeket lakják Izráel földjén, ezt mondják, mondván: Egyetlen egy volt Ábrahám, mikor örökségül kapta a földet, mi pedig sokan vagyunk, nékünk a föld örökségül adatott.

Son of man, they that inhabit those wastes of the land of Israel speak, saying, Abraham was one, and he inherited the land: but we are many; the land is given us for inheritance.

„Fiul omului, cei ce locuiesc în dărâmăturile acelea în ţara lui Israel zic: „Avraam era singur, şi tot a moştenit ţara; dar noi suntem mulţi, şi ţara ne-a fost dată în stăpânire!”

“Son of man, the inhabitants of these waste places in the land of Israel keep saying, ‘Abraham was only one man, yet he got possession of the land; but we are many; the land is surely given us to possess.’

Azért ezt mondd nekik: Azt mondja az én Uram, az ÚR: „Véreset esztek, szemeteket a bálványaitokra emelitek, és vért ontotok, és ti akarjátok örökségül az országot?

Ezokáért mondjad nékik: Ezt mondja az Úr Isten: Véreset esztek, és szemeiteket bálványaitokra emelitek, és vért ontotok; és a földet örökségül kapnátok?

Wherefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Ye eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes toward your idols, and shed blood: and shall ye possess the land?

De aceea spune-le: „Aşa vorbeşte Domnul Dumnezeu: „Voi mâncaţi carne cu sânge, vă ridicaţi ochii spre idolii voştri şi vărsaţi sânge. Şi voi să stăpâniţi ţara?

Therefore say to them, Thus says the Lord GOD: You eat flesh with the blood and lift up your eyes to your idols and shed blood; shall you then possess the land?

Fegyveretekben bíztok, utálatosságot cselekedtek, mindegyikőtök tisztátalanná teszi a felebarátja feleségét, és ti akarjátok örökségül az országot?”

Fegyveretekben bíztatok, útálatosságot cselekedtetek, és mindenitek az ő felebarátja feleségét megfertéztette; és a földet örökségül kapnátok?

Ye stand upon your sword, ye work abomination, and ye defile every one his neighbour's wife: and shall ye possess the land?

Voi vă bizuiţi pe sabia voastră, săvârşiţi urâciuni, fiecare din voi necinsteşte pe nevasta aproapelui său. Şi voi să stăpâniţi ţara?”

You rely on the sword, you commit abominations, and each of you defiles his neighbor’s wife; shall you then possess the land?

Ezt mondd nekik: „Így szól az én Uram, az ÚR: Élek én, hogy akik a romok között vannak, fegyvertől hullanak el, és aki a nyílt mezőn, azt a vadállatoknak adom eledelül, és akik az erődökben és a barlangokban vannak, dögvész miatt halnak meg.

Ezt mondjad nékik: Így szól az Úr Isten: Élek én, hogy a kik az elpusztult helyeken vannak, fegyver miatt hullnak el; és a ki a mezőnek színén, azt a vadaknak adtam eledelül, és a kik az erősségekben és a barlangokban vannak, döghalállal halnak meg.

Say thou thus unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; As I live, surely they that are in the wastes shall fall by the sword, and him that is in the open field will I give to the beasts to be devoured, and they that be in the forts and in the caves shall die of the pestilence.

De aceea spune-le: „Aşa vorbeşte Domnul Dumnezeu: „Pe viaţa Mea, că cei ce locuiesc în aceste dărâmături vor cădea ucişi de sabie; pe cei ce sunt pe câmp îi voi da de mâncare fiarelor; iar cei ce sunt în întărituri şi în peşteri vor muri de ciumă.

Say this to them, Thus says the Lord GOD: As I live, surely those who are in the waste places shall fall by the sword, and whoever is in the open field I will give to the beasts to be devoured, and those who are in strongholds and in caves shall die by pestilence.

Pusztasággá és sivataggá teszem az országot, és megszűnik dölyfös ereje. Puszták lesznek Izráel hegyei, nem lesz, aki átmenjen rajtuk.

És teszem a földet pusztaságok pusztaságává, s megszünik erősségének kevélysége, és puszták lesznek Izráel hegyei, mert nem lesz, a ki átmenjen rajtok.

For I will lay the land most desolate, and the pomp of her strength shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, that none shall pass through.

Voi preface ţara într-o pustietate şi într-un pustiu; mândria tăriei ei se va sfârşi, munţii lui Israel vor fi pustiiţi şi nimeni nu va mai trece prin ei.

And I will make the land a desolation and a waste, and her proud might shall come to an end, and the mountains of Israel shall be so desolate that none will pass through.

Majd megtudják, hogy én vagyok az ÚR, amikor a földet pusztasággá és sivataggá teszem mindenféle utálatosságukért, amelyeket cselekedtek.

És megtudják, hogy én vagyok az Úr, mikor a földet pusztaságok pusztaságává teszem mindenféle útálatosságukért, melyeket cselekedtek.

Then shall they know that I am the LORD, when I have laid the land most desolate because of all their abominations which they have committed.

Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I have made the land a desolation and a waste because of all their abominations that they have committed.

Embernek fia! Rólad beszélgetnek néped fiai a falak mellett, a házak ajtajaiban, és az egyik így szól a másikhoz: Gyertek csak, hallgassátok: mi ez a beszéd, amely az ÚRtól jön?

És te, embernek fia, néped fiai beszélgetnek felőled a falak mellett s a házaknak ajtaiban; és egyik a másikkal szól, kiki az ő atyjafiával, mondván: Jertek, kérlek, és halljátok: micsoda beszéd az, amely az Úrtól jő ki?

Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the LORD.

Fiul omului! Copiii poporului tău vorbesc de tine pe lângă ziduri şi pe la uşile caselor şi zic unul altuia, fiecare fratelui său: „Veniţi, dar, şi ascultaţi care este cuvântul ieşit de la Domnul!”

“As for you, son of man, your people who talk together about you by the walls and at the doors of the houses say to one another, each to his brother, ‘Come, and hear what the word is that comes from the LORD.’

És eljönnek hozzád, ahogyan a nép szokott összejönni, és odaül eléd az én népem. Hallgatják beszédedet, de nem cselekszik, hanem mint szerelmes éneket veszik azt ajkukra, szívük pedig nyereség után jár.

És eljőnek hozzád, a hogy a nép össze szokott jőni, s oda ülnek elődbe, mint az én népem, és hallgatják beszédidet, de nem cselekeszik, hanem szerelmeskedő [énekként] veszik azokat ajkokra, szívök pedig nyereség után jár.

And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.

Şi vin cu grămada la tine, stau înaintea ta ca popor al Meu, ascultă cuvintele tale, dar nu le împlinesc, căci cu gura vorbesc dulce de tot, dar cu inima umblă tot după poftele lor.

And they come to you as people come, and they sit before you as my people, and they hear what you say but they will not do it; for with lustful talk in their mouths they act; their heart is set on their gain.

Íme, te olyan vagy nekik, mint egy szerelmes énekes, akinek szép a hangja, és mint egy jó lantos: csak hallgatják beszédedet, de nem cselekszik azt.

És ímé, te olyan vagy nékik, mint valamely szerelmeskedő ének, szép hangú, s mint valamely jó hegedűs; csak hallják beszédidet, de nem cselekszik azokat.

And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.

Iată că tu eşti pentru ei ca un cântăreţ plăcut cu un glas frumos şi iscusit la cântare pe corzi. Ei îţi ascultă cuvintele, dar nu le împlinesc deloc.

And behold, you are to them like one who sings lustful songs with a beautiful voice and plays well on an instrument, for they hear what you say, but they will not do it.

De ha majd beteljesedik, mert íme, beteljesedik – megtudják, hogy próféta volt közöttük.”

De ha beteljesednek, [mert] ímé beteljesednek, megtudják, hogy próféta volt közöttök.

And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them.

Când se vor întâmpla însă aceste lucruri – şi iată că se întâmplă! – vor şti că era un proroc în mijlocul lor.”

When this comes—and come it will!—then they will know that a prophet has been among them.”
