Mit mondunk tehát, mit ért el Ábrahám, a mi atyánk, test szerint?

Mit mondunk tehát, hogy Ábrahám a mi atyánk nyert volna test szerint?

What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found?

Ce vom zice, dar, că a căpătat, prin puterea lui, strămoşul nostru Avraam?

What then shall we say was gained by Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh?

Mert ha Ábrahám cselekedetekből igazult meg, van mivel dicsekednie, de nem Isten előtt.

For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.

Dacă Avraam a fost socotit neprihănit prin fapte, are cu ce să se laude, dar nu înaintea lui Dumnezeu.

For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God.

De mit mond az Írás? Hitt Ábrahám Istennek, és ezt ő igazságul számította be neki.

Mert mit mond az írás: Hitt pedig Ábrahám az Istennek, és tulajdoníttaték az ő néki igazságul.

For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.

Căci ce zice Scriptura? „Avraam a crezut pe Dumnezeu, şi aceasta i s-a socotit ca neprihănire.”

For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness.”

Aki munkálkodik, annak a bért nem kegyelemből számítják be, hanem tartozás szerint.

Annak pedig, a ki munkálkodik, a jutalom nem tulajdoníttatik kegyelemből, hanem tartozás szerint;

Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.

Însă, celui ce lucrează, plata cuvenită lui i se socoteşte nu ca un har, ci ca ceva datorat;

Now to the one who works, his wages are not counted as a gift but as his due.

Aki azonban nem munkálkodik, hanem hisz abban, aki az istentelent megigazítja, annak a hitét számítják be igazságul.

Ellenben annak, a ki nem munkálkodik, hanem hisz abban, a ki az istentelent megigazítja, az ő hite tulajdoníttatik igazságul.

But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

pe când, celui ce nu lucrează, ci crede în Cel ce socoteşte pe păcătos neprihănit, credinţa pe care o are el îi este socotită ca neprihănire.

And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness,

Amint Dávid is boldognak mondja azt az embert, akinek az Isten igazságot tulajdonít cselekedetek nélkül.

A mint Dávid is boldognak mondja azt az embert, a kinek az Isten igazságot tulajdonít cselekedetek nélkül.

Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,

Tot astfel, şi David numeşte fericit pe omul acela pe care Dumnezeu, fără fapte, îl socoteşte neprihănit.

just as David also speaks of the blessing of the one to whom God counts righteousness apart from works:

Boldogok, akiknek megbocsáttattak hamisságaik, és akiknek elfedeztettek bűneik.

Boldogok, a kiknek megbocsáttattak az ő hamisságaik, és a kiknek elfedeztettek az ő bűneik.

Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.

„Ferice”, zice el, „de aceia ale căror fărădelegi sunt iertate şi ale căror păcate sunt acoperite!

“Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered;

Boldog ember az, akinek az Úr a bűnt nem számítja be.

Boldog ember az, a kinek az Úr bűnt nem tulajdonít.

Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

Ferice de omul căruia nu-i ţine Domnul în seamă păcatul!”

blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not count his sin.”

Ez a boldogság csak a körülmetélté vagy a körülmetéletlené is? Mert azt mondjuk, hogy Ábrahámnak a hit számíttatott be igazságul.

Ez a boldogság tehát a zsidónak, vagy a pogánynak is [tulajdoníttatik- ]é? Mert azt mondjuk, hogy Ábrahámnak a hit tulajdoníttaték igazságul.

Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness.

Fericirea aceasta este numai pentru cei tăiaţi împrejur sau şi pentru cei netăiaţi împrejur? Căci zicem că lui Avraam credinţa „i-a fost socotită ca neprihănire.”

Is this blessing then only for the circumcised, or also for the uncircumcised? For we say that faith was counted to Abraham as righteousness.

Milyen állapotában számíttatott be? Körülmetéltségében vagy körülmetéletlenségében? Nem mint körülmetéltnek, hanem mint körülmetéletlennek.

Miképen tulajdoníttaték tehát? Körülmetélt vagy körülmetéletlen állapotában? Nem körülmetélt, hanem körülmetéletlen állapotában.

How was it then reckoned? when he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision.

Dar cum i-a fost socotită? După sau înainte de tăierea lui împrejur? Nu când era tăiat împrejur, ci când era netăiat împrejur.

How then was it counted to him? Was it before or after he had been circumcised? It was not after, but before he was circumcised.

És a körülmetélkedés jegyét körülmetéletlenségében tanúsított hite igazságának pecsétjéül kapta, hogy atyja legyen mindazoknak, akik körülmetéletlen létükre hisznek, hogy azoknak is beszámíttassék az igazság,

És a körülmetélkedés jegyét körülmetéletlenségében [tanusított] hite igazságának pecsétjéül nyerte: hogy atyja legyen mindazoknak, a kik körülmetéletlen létökre hisznek, hogy azoknak is tulajdoníttassék az igazság;

And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also:

Apoi a primit ca semn tăierea împrejur, ca o pecete a acelei neprihăniri pe care o căpătase prin credinţă, când era netăiat împrejur. Şi aceasta, pentru ca să fie tatăl tuturor celor care cred, măcar că nu sunt tăiaţi împrejur; ca, adică, să li se socotească şi lor neprihănirea aceasta;

He received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. The purpose was to make him the father of all who believe without being circumcised, so that righteousness would be counted to them as well,

és hogy atyja legyen a körülmetélteknek is, azoknak, akik nemcsak körülmetélkednek, hanem követik is a mi atyánk, Ábrahám körülmetéletlenségében tanúsított hitének nyomdokait.

És [hogy] atyja [legyen] a körülmetélteknek is, azoknak, a kik nemcsak körülmetélkednek, hanem követik is a mi atyánknak Ábrahámnak körülmetéletlenségében [tanusított] hitének nyomdokait.

And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised.

şi pentru ca să fie şi tatăl celor tăiaţi împrejur, adică al acelora care, nu numai că sunt tăiaţi împrejur, dar şi calcă pe urmele credinţei aceleia pe care o avea tatăl nostru Avraam, când nu era tăiat împrejur.

and to make him the father of the circumcised who are not merely circumcised but who also walk in the footsteps of the faith that our father Abraham had before he was circumcised.

Mert nem a törvény által adatott az ígéret Ábrahámnak és utódainak, hogy e világ örököse lesz, hanem a hit igazsága által.

Mert nem a törvény által adatott az ígéret Ábrahámnak, vagy az ő magvának, hogy e világnak örököse lesz, hanem a hitnek igazsága által.

For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

În adevăr, făgăduinţa făcută lui Avraam sau seminţei lui, că va moşteni lumea, n-a fost făcută pe temeiul Legii, ci pe temeiul acelei neprihăniri care se capătă prin credinţă.

For the promise to Abraham and his offspring that he would be heir of the world did not come through the law but through the righteousness of faith.

Mert ha a törvényből valók az örökösök, akkor semmivé lett a hit, és haszontalanná vált az ígéret,

Mert ha azok az örökösök, kik a törvényből valók, hiábavalóvá lett a hit, és haszontalanná az ígéret:

For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:

Căci, dacă moştenitori sunt cei ce se ţin de Lege, credinţa este zadarnică, şi făgăduinţa este nimicită;

For if it is the adherents of the law who are to be the heirs, faith is null and the promise is void.

mivel a törvény haragot nemz, ahol pedig nincs törvény, ott törvényszegés sincs.

Mert a törvény haragot nemz: a hol pedig nincsen törvény, ott törvény ellen való cselekedet sincsen.

Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.

pentru că Legea aduce mânie; şi unde nu este o lege, acolo nu este nici călcare de lege.

For the law brings wrath, but where there is no law there is no transgression.

Azért hitből, hogy kegyelemből legyen, hogy bizonyos legyen az ígéret valamennyi utódnak, nemcsak a törvényből valónak, hanem az Ábrahám hitéből valónak is. Ő mindnyájunknak atyja Isten előtt

Azért hitből, hogy kegyelemből [legyen;] hogy erős legyen az ígéret az egész magnak; nemcsak a törvényből valónak, hanem az Ábrahám hitéből valónak is, a ki mindnyájunknak atyánk

Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,

De aceea moştenitori sunt cei ce se fac prin credinţă, pentru ca să fie prin har, şi pentru ca făgăduinţa să fie chezăşuită pentru toată sămânţa lui Avraam: nu numai pentru sămânţa aceea care este sub Lege, ci şi pentru sămânţa aceea care are credinţa lui Avraam, tatăl nostru al tuturor,

That is why it depends on faith, in order that the promise may rest on grace and be guaranteed to all his offspring—not only to the adherent of the law but also to the one who shares the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all,

– amint meg van írva, hogy „sok nép atyjává tettelek téged” –, akiben hitt, hogy a holtakat megeleveníti, és azokat, akik nincsenek, előszólítja mint meglevőket.

(A mint meg van írva, hogy sok nép atyjává tettelek téged ) az előtt, az Isten előtt, a kiben hitt, a ki a holtakat megeleveníti, és azokat, a melyek nincsenek, előszólítja mint meglevőket.

(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

după cum este scris: „Te-am rânduit să fii tatăl multor neamuri.” El, adică, este tatăl nostru înaintea lui Dumnezeu în care a crezut, care învie morţii şi care cheamă lucrurile care nu sunt, ca şi cum ar fi.

as it is written, “I have made you the father of many nations”—in the presence of the God in whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things that do not exist.

Ő pedig a reménység ellenére reménykedve hitte, hogy sok nép atyjává lesz, ahogyan megmondatott: Így lesz a te magod.

A ki reménység ellenére reménykedve hitte, hogy sok népnek atyjává lesz, a szerint, a mint megmondatott: Így lészen a te magod.

Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.

Nădăjduind împotriva oricărei nădejdi, el a crezut, şi astfel a ajuns tatăl multor neamuri, după cum i se spusese: „Aşa va fi sămânţa ta.”

In hope he believed against hope, that he should become the father of many nations, as he had been told, “So shall your offspring be.”

És nem gyengült meg hitében, amikor százesztendős lévén saját, már elhalt testére és Sárának elhalt méhére gondolt.

És hitében erős lévén, nem gondolt az ő már elhalt testére, mintegy százesztendős lévén, sem Sárának elhalt méhére;

And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb:

Şi, fiindcă n-a fost slab în credinţă, el nu s-a uitat la trupul său care era îmbătrânit – avea aproape o sută de ani – nici la faptul că Sara nu mai putea să aibă copii.

He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was as good as dead (since he was about a hundred years old), or when he considered the barrenness of Sarah’s womb.

Isten ígéretét nem vonta kétségbe hitetlenül, hanem megerősödött a hitben, dicsőséget adva Istennek,

Az Istennek ígéretében sem kételkedett hitetlenséggel, hanem erős volt a hitben, dicsőséget adván az Istennek,

He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

El nu s-a îndoit de făgăduinţa lui Dumnezeu, prin necredinţă, ci, întărit prin credinţa lui, a dat slavă lui Dumnezeu,

No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God,

és teljesen bizonyos volt abban, hogy amit ő ígért, azt meg is tudja tenni.

És teljesen elhitte, hogy a mit ő ígért, meg is cselekedheti.

And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

deplin încredinţat că El ce făgăduieşte, poate să şi împlinească.

fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised.

És ezt Isten igazságul számította be neki.

Azért is tulajdoníttaték néki igazságul.

And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.

De aceea credinţa aceasta „i-a fost socotită ca neprihănire.”

That is why his faith was “counted to him as righteousness.”

De nem egyedül őérte íratott meg, hogy beszámította neki igazságul,

De nemcsak ő érette iratott meg, hogy tulajdoníttaték néki [igazságul,]

Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;

Dar nu numai pentru el este scris că „i-a fost socotită ca neprihănire”;

But the words “it was counted to him” were not written for his sake alone,

hanem értünk is, akiknek majd beszámítja azt, hogy hiszünk abban, aki feltámasztotta a halottak közül Jézust, a mi Urunkat,

Hanem mi érettünk is, a kiknek majd tulajdoníttatik, azoknak tudniillik, a kik hisznek Abban, a ki feltámasztotta a mi Urunkat a Jézust a halálból,

But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;

ci este scris şi pentru noi, cărora, de asemenea, ne va fi socotită, nouă celor ce credem în Cel ce a înviat din morţi pe Isus Hristos, Domnul nostru,

but for ours also. It will be counted to us who believe in him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord,

aki halálra adatott bűneinkért, és feltámasztatott megigazulásunkért.

Ki a mi bűneinkért [halálra] adatott, és feltámasztatott a mi megigazulásunkért.

Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

care a fost dat din pricina fărădelegilor noastre, şi a înviat din pricină că am fost socotiţi neprihăniţi.

who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification.
