Kérdezem tehát: Elvetette Isten az ő népét? Semmiképpen! Mert én is izraelita vagyok, Ábrahám magvából, Benjámin törzséből.

Mondom tehát: Avagy elvetette-é Isten az ő népét? Távol legyen; mert én is izráelita vagyok, az Ábrahám magvából, Benjámin nemzetségéből való.

I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.

Întreb, dar: „A lepădat Dumnezeu pe poporul Său?” Nicidecum! Căci şi eu sunt israelit, din sămânţa lui Avraam, din seminţia lui Beniamin.

I ask, then, has God rejected his people? By no means! For I myself am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, a member of the tribe of Benjamin.

Nem vetette el Isten az ő népét, amelyet eleve kiválasztott. Nem tudjátok, mit mond az Írás Illésről, amikor panaszt tesz Istennél Izráel ellen:

Nem vetette el Isten az ő népét, melyet eleve ismert. Avagy nem tudjátok-é, mit mond az írás Illésről? a mint könyörög Istenhez Izráel ellen, mondván:

God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel saying,

Dumnezeu n-a lepădat pe poporul Său pe care l-a cunoscut mai dinainte. Nu ştiţi ce zice Scriptura, în locul unde vorbeşte despre Ilie? Cum se plânge el lui Dumnezeu împotriva lui Israel, când zice:

God has not rejected his people whom he foreknew. Do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he appeals to God against Israel?

„Uram, prófétáidat megölték, oltáraidat lerombolták, csak én egyedül maradtam, és engem is halálra keresnek”?

Uram, a te prófétáidat megölték, és a te oltáraidat lerombolták; és csak én egyedül maradtam, és engem is halálra keresnek.

Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.

„Doamne, pe prorocii Tăi i-au omorât, altarele Tale le-au surpat; am rămas eu singur, şi caută să-mi ia viaţa”?

“Lord, they have killed your prophets, they have demolished your altars, and I alone am left, and they seek my life.”

De mit mond neki az isteni felelet? Meghagytam magamnak hétezer embert, akik nem hajtottak térdet a Baálnak.

But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.

Dar ce-i răspunde Dumnezeu? „Mi-am păstrat şapte mii de bărbaţi care nu şi-au plecat genunchiul înaintea lui Baal.”

But what is God’s reply to him? “I have kept for myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”

Így tehát most is van maradék a kegyelemből való választás szerint.

Ekképen azért most is van maradék a kegyelemből való választás szerint.

Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

Tot aşa, şi în vremea de faţă, este o rămăşiţă datorită unei alegeri prin har.

So too at the present time there is a remnant, chosen by grace.

Ha pedig kegyelemből, akkor nem cselekedetekből, különben a kegyelem nem volna többé kegyelem.

Hogyha pedig kegyelemből, akkor nem cselekedetekből: különben a kegyelem nem volna többé kegyelem. Hogyha pedig cselekedetekből, akkor nem kegyelemből: különben a cselekedet nem volna többé cselekedet.

And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

Şi dacă este prin har, atunci nu mai este prin fapte; altminteri, harul n-ar mai fi har. Şi dacă este prin fapte, nu mai este prin har; altminteri, fapta n-ar mai fi faptă.

But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace.

Mi tehát a helyzet? Amire Izráel törekedett, azt nem nyerte meg, a választottak ellenben megnyerték, a többiek pedig megkeményíttettek,

Micsoda tehát? A mit Izráel keres, azt nem nyerte meg: a választottak ellenben megnyerték, a többiek pedig megkeményíttettek:

What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded.

Deci ce urmează? Că Israel n-a căpătat ce căuta, iar rămăşiţa aleasă a căpătat; pe când ceilalţi au fost împietriţi,

What then? Israel failed to obtain what it was seeking. The elect obtained it, but the rest were hardened,

amint meg van írva: Isten a kábultság lelkét adta nekik, szemet, hogy ne lássanak, fület, hogy ne halljanak, mind e mai napig.

A mint meg van írva: Az Isten kábultság lelkét adta nékik; szemeket, hogy ne lássanak, füleket, hogy ne halljanak, mind e mai napig.

(According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.

după cum este scris: „Dumnezeu le-a dat un duh de adormire, ochi ca să nu vadă, şi urechi ca să n-audă, până în ziua de astăzi.”

as it is written, “God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that would not see and ears that would not hear, down to this very day.”

Dávid is ezt mondja: Legyen az asztaluk csapdává, hálóvá, botránkozássá és megtorlássá.

And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them:

Şi David zice: „Masa lor să li se prefacă într-o cursă, într-un laţ, într-un prilej de cădere şi într-o dreaptă răsplătire.

And David says, “Let their table become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and a retribution for them;

Sötétüljön meg szemük, hogy ne lássanak, és hátukat mindenkorra görnyeszd meg.

Sötétüljenek meg az ő szemeik, hogy ne lássanak, és az ő hátokat mindenkorra görbítsd meg.

Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway.

Să li se întunece ochii ca să nu vadă, şi spinarea să le-o ţii mereu gârbovită.”

let their eyes be darkened so that they cannot see, and bend their backs forever.”

Kérdezem tehát: Nem azért botlottak-e meg, hogy elessenek? Semmiképpen! Hanem az ő elesésük által lett az üdvösség a pogányoké, hogy féltékenykedjenek.

Annakokáért mondom: Avagy azért botlottak-é meg, hogy elessenek? Távol legyen; hanem az ő esetük folytán [lett] az idvesség a pogányoké, hogy ők felingereltessenek.

I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.

Întreb, dar: „S-au poticnit ei ca să cadă?” Nicidecum! Ci, prin alunecarea lor, s-a făcut cu putinţă mântuirea Neamurilor, ca să facă pe Israel gelos;

So I ask, did they stumble in order that they might fall? By no means! Rather, through their trespass salvation has come to the Gentiles, so as to make Israel jealous.

Ha pedig az ő elesésük a világ gazdagságává lett, és veszteségük a pogányok gazdagságává, mennyivel inkább azzá lesz teljességre jutásuk!

Ha pedig az ő esetök világnak gazdagsága, és az ő veszteségök pogányok gazdagsága, mennyivel inkább az ő teljességök?

Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?

dacă deci alunecarea lor a fost o bogăţie pentru lume, şi paguba lor a fost o bogăţie pentru Neamuri, ce va fi plinătatea întoarcerii lor?

Now if their trespass means riches for the world, and if their failure means riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their full inclusion mean!

Nektek, pogányoknak pedig azt mondom: Amennyiben tehát én a pogányok apostola vagyok, dicsőítem a szolgálatomat,

Mert néktek mondom a pogányoknak, a mennyiben hát én pogányok apostola vagyok, a szolgálatomat dicsőítem,

For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:

V-o spun vouă, Neamurilor: „Întrucât sunt apostol al Neamurilor, îmi slăvesc slujba mea

Now I am speaking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry

hátha ezzel féltékennyé tehetném véreimet, és megmenthetnék közülük némelyeket.

Ha ugyan felingerelhetném az én atyámfiait, és megtarthatnék közülök némelyeket.

If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.

şi caut ca, dacă este cu putinţă, să stârnesc gelozia celor din neamul meu şi să mântuiesc pe unii din ei.

in order somehow to make my fellow Jews jealous, and thus save some of them.

Mert ha elvettetésük a világ megbékélését jelenti, mi mást jelentene befogadtatásuk, mint életet a halálból?

Mert ha az ő elvettetésök a világnak megbékélése, micsoda [lesz] a felvételök hanemha élet a halálból?

For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?

Căci, dacă lepădarea lor a adus împăcarea lumii, ce va fi primirea lor din nou, decât viaţă din morţi?

For if their rejection means the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance mean but life from the dead?

Ha pedig a zsenge szent, akkor a tészta is az, és ha a gyökér szent, az ágak is azok.

Ha pedig a zsenge szent, akkor a tészta is; és ha a gyökér szent, az ágak is [azok.]

For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.

Iar dacă cele dintâi roade sunt sfinte, şi plămădeala este sfântă; şi dacă rădăcina este sfântă, şi ramurile sunt sfinte.

If the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, so is the whole lump, and if the root is holy, so are the branches.

Ha pedig némely ág kitört, te pedig vadolajfa létedre beoltattál azok közé, és részese lettél az olajfa életnedvet adó gyökerének,

Ha pedig némely ágak kitörettek, te pedig vadolajfa létedre beoltattál azok közé, és részese lettél az olajfa gyökerének és zsírjának;

And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;

Iar dacă unele din ramuri au fost tăiate, şi dacă tu, care erai dintr-un măslin sălbatic, ai fost altoit în locul lor şi ai fost făcut părtaş rădăcinii şi grăsimii măslinului,

But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, although a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing root of the olive tree,

ne kérkedjél az ágak ellenében; ha pedig kérkednél: nem te hordozod a gyökeret, hanem a gyökér téged.

Ne kevélykedjél az ágak ellenében: ha pedig kevélykedel, nem te hordozod a gyökeret, hanem a gyökér téged.

Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.

nu te făli faţă de ramuri. Dacă te făleşti, să ştii că nu tu ţii rădăcina, ci rădăcina te ţine pe tine.

do not be arrogant toward the branches. If you are, remember it is not you who support the root, but the root that supports you.

Azt mondod azért: Kitörettek az ágak, hogy én oltassam be.

Azt mondod azért: Kitörettek [az] ágak, hogy én oltassam be.

Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.

Dar vei zice: „Ramurile au fost tăiate, ca să fiu altoit eu.”

Then you will say, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.”

Úgy van, azok hitetlenség miatt törettek ki, te pedig hit által állsz. Ne fuvalkodjál fel, hanem félj,

Úgy van; hitetlenség miatt törettek ki, te pedig hit által állasz; fel ne fuvalkodjál, hanem félj;

Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:

Adevărat: au fost tăiate din pricina necredinţei lor, şi tu stai în picioare prin credinţă: nu te îngâmfa, dar, ci teme-te!

That is true. They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand fast through faith. So do not become proud, but fear.

mert ha Isten a természetes ágakat nem kímélte, majd téged sem fog kímélni.

Mert ha az Isten a természet szerint való ágaknak nem kedvezett, majd néked sem kedvez.

For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.

Căci dacă n-a cruţat Dumnezeu ramurile fireşti, nu te va cruţa nici pe tine.

For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you.

Vedd észre tehát az Isten jóságát és keménységét: keménységét azok iránt, akik elestek, irántad pedig jóságát, ha megmaradsz a jóságában, különben téged is kivágnak.

Tekintsd meg azért az Istennek kegyességét és keménységét: azok iránt a kik elestek, keménységét; irántad pedig a kegyességét, ha megmaradsz a kegyességben; különben te is kivágatol.

Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

Uită-te, dar, la bunătatea şi asprimea lui Dumnezeu: asprime faţă de cei ce au căzut, şi bunătate faţă de tine, dacă nu încetezi să rămâi în bunătatea aceasta; altminteri, vei fi tăiat şi tu.

Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God’s kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off.

Azok pedig, ha nem maradnak meg a hitetlenségben, beoltatnak, mert Isten képes ismét beoltani őket.

Sőt azok is, ha meg nem maradnak a hitetlenségben, beoltatnak; mert az Isten ismét beolthatja őket.

And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again.

Şi chiar ei, dacă nu stăruie în necredinţă, vor fi altoiţi; căci Dumnezeu poate să-i altoiască iarăşi.

And even they, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God has the power to graft them in again.

Mert ha te a természet szerint való vad olajfából kivágattál, és a természet ellenére beoltattál a szelíd olajfába, akkor mennyivel inkább beoltatnak ezek a természet szerint valók az ő saját olajfájukba!

Mert ha te a természet szerint való vadolajfából kivágattál, és természet ellenére beoltattál a szelid olajfába: mennyivel inkább beoltatnak ezek a természet szerint valók az ő saját olajfájokba.

For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?

Fiindcă, dacă tu, care ai fost tăiat dintr-un măslin care din fire era sălbatic, ai fost altoit, împotriva firii tale, într-un măslin bun, cu cât mai mult vor fi altoiţi ei, care sunt ramuri fireşti, în măslinul lor?

For if you were cut from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, the natural branches, be grafted back into their own olive tree.

Mert nem akarom, testvéreim, hogy magatokat bölcsnek tartva ne tudjátok meg ezt a titkot, hogy Izráel megkeményedése csak részleges, ameddig a pogányok teljes számban be nem jutnak.

Mert nem akarom, hogy ne tudjátok atyámfiai ezt a titkot, hogy magatokat el ne higyjétek, hogy a megkeményedés Izráelre nézve [csak] részben történt, a meddig a pogányok teljessége bemegyen.

For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

Fraţilor, pentru ca să nu vă socotiţi singuri înţelepţi, nu vreau să nu ştiţi taina aceasta: o parte din Israel a căzut într-o împietrire care va ţine până va intra numărul deplin al Neamurilor.

Lest you be wise in your own sight, I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery, brothers: a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.

És így az egész Izráel üdvözül, amint meg van írva: Eljön Sionból a Szabadító, és elfordítja Jákóbtól a gonoszságot,

És így az egész Izráel megtartatik, a mint meg van írva: Eljő Sionból a Szabadító, és elfordítja Jákóbtól a gonoszságokat:

And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

Şi atunci tot Israelul va fi mântuit, după cum este scris: „Izbăvitorul va veni din Sion şi va îndepărta toate nelegiuirile de la Iacov.

And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written, “The Deliverer will come from Zion, he will banish ungodliness from Jacob”;

és ez lesz velük az én szövetségem, amikor eltörlöm a bűneiket.

És ez nékik az én szövetségem, midőn eltörlöm az ő bűneiket.

For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

Acesta va fi legământul pe care-l voi face cu ei, când le voi şterge păcatele.”

“and this will be my covenant with them when I take away their sins.”

Az evangéliumra nézve ugyan ellenségek tiértetek, de a kiválasztásra nézve szeretettek az ősatyákért.

Az evangyéliomra nézve ugyan ellenségek ti érettetek; de a választásra nézve szerelmetesek az atyákért.

As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the father's sakes.

În ce priveşte Evanghelia, ei sunt vrăjmaşi, şi aceasta spre binele vostru; dar în ce priveşte alegerea, sunt iubiţi, din pricina părinţilor lor.

As regards the gospel, they are enemies for your sake. But as regards election, they are beloved for the sake of their forefathers.

Mert Isten ajándékai és az ő elhívása visszavonhatatlanok.

Mert megbánhatatlanok az Istennek ajándékai és az ő elhívása.

For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

Căci lui Dumnezeu nu-I pare rău de darurile şi de chemarea făcută.

For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.

Mert ahogyan ti egykor engedetlenek voltatok Istennel szemben, most pedig irgalmat nyertetek az ő engedetlenségük következtében,

Mert miképen ti egykor engedetlenkedtetek az Istennek, most pedig irgalmasságot nyertetek az ő engedetlenségök miatt:

For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:

După cum voi odinioară n-aţi ascultat de Dumnezeu, şi după cum, prin neascultarea lor, aţi căpătat îndurare acum,

For just as you were at one time disobedient to God but now have received mercy because of their disobedience,

úgy ők is most engedetlenné lettek, hogy a nektek adott irgalom révén végül ők is irgalmasságot nyerjenek.

Azonképen ők is most engedetlenkedtek, hogy a ti irgalmasságba jutásotok folytán ők is irgalmasságot nyerjenek;

Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.

tot aşa, ei acum n-au ascultat, pentru ca, prin îndurarea arătată vouă, să capete şi ei îndurare.

so they too have now been disobedient in order that by the mercy shown to you they also may now receive mercy.

Mert Isten mindenkit engedetlenség alá rekesztett, hogy mindenkin könyörüljön.

Mert az Isten mindeneket engedetlenség alá rekesztett, hogy mindeneken könyörüljön.

For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

Fiindcă Dumnezeu a închis pe toţi oamenii în neascultare, ca să aibă îndurare de toţi.

For God has consigned all to disobedience, that he may have mercy on all.

Ó, Isten gazdagságának, bölcsességének és tudományának mélysége! Mely igen kifürkészhetetlenek az ő ítéletei, és kinyomozhatatlanok az ő útjai!

Óh Isten gazdagságának, bölcseségének és tudományának mélysége! Mely igen kikutathatatlanok az ő ítéletei s kinyomozhatatlanok az ő útai!

O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

O, adâncul bogăţiei, înţelepciunii şi ştiinţei lui Dumnezeu! Cât de nepătrunse sunt judecăţile Lui şi cât de neînţelese sunt căile Lui!

Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!

Mert ki ismerte meg az Úr értelmét, vagy ki lett neki tanácsadója?

Mert kicsoda ismerte meg az Úr értelmét? vagy kicsoda volt néki tanácsosa?

For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?

Şi, în adevăr, „cine a cunoscut gândul Domnului? Sau cine a fost sfetnicul Lui?

“For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?”

Vagy ki adott előbb neki, hogy annak visszafizesse azt?

Avagy kicsoda adott előbb néki, hogy annak visszafizesse azt?

Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?

Cine I-a dat ceva întâi, ca să aibă de primit înapoi?”

“Or who has given a gift to him that he might be repaid?”

Mert tőle, általa és érte van minden. Övé a dicsőség mindörökké. Ámen.

Mert ő tőle, ő általa és ő reá nézve vannak mindenek. Övé a dicsőség mindörökké. Ámen.

For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

Din El, prin El şi pentru El sunt toate lucrurile. A Lui să fie slava în veci! Amin.

For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.
