Ahasvérós idejében történt. Ez az Ahasvérós Indiától Etiópiáig százhuszonhét tartományon uralkodott.

Now it came to pass in the days of Ahasuerus, (this is Ahasuerus which reigned, from India even unto Ethiopia, over an hundred and seven and twenty provinces:)

Era pe vremea lui Ahaşveroş, al acelui Ahaşveroş care domnea de la India până în Etiopia, peste o sută douăzeci şi şapte de ţinuturi.

Now in the days of Ahasuerus, the Ahasuerus who reigned from India to Ethiopia over 127 provinces,

Abban az időben, amikor Ahasvérós király Súsán várában, királyi trónján ült,

Azokban a napokban, a mikor Ahasvérus király üle királyi székében, a mely Susán várában volt,

That in those days, when the king Ahasuerus sat on the throne of his kingdom, which was in Shushan the palace,

Împăratul Ahaşveroş şedea atunci pe scaunul lui împărătesc la Susa, în capitală.

in those days when King Ahasuerus sat on his royal throne in Susa, the citadel,

uralkodása harmadik évében lakomát szerzett minden fejedelmének és szolgájának. Megjelentek előtte Perzsia és Média hatalmasságai, főemberei és a tartományok fejedelmei.

Uralkodása harmadik évében lakomát szerze minden fejedelmének és szolgáinak: Persia és Média hatalmasai, főemberei és a tartományok fejedelmei előtte valának,

In the third year of his reign, he made a feast unto all his princes and his servants; the power of Persia and Media, the nobles and princes of the provinces, being before him:

În al treilea an al domniei lui, a dat un ospăţ tuturor domnitorilor şi slujitorilor săi. Căpeteniile oştirii perşilor şi mezilor, mai marii şi capii ţinuturilor s-au strâns înaintea lui.

in the third year of his reign he gave a feast for all his officials and servants. The army of Persia and Media and the nobles and governors of the provinces were before him,

Hosszú ideig, száznyolcvan napon keresztül mutogatta királyi dicsőségének gazdagságát és hatalmának ragyogását és pompáját.

Midőn mutogatá országa dicsőségének gazdagságát és az ő méltóságának fényes díszét sok napon át, száznyolczvan napig.

When he shewed the riches of his glorious kingdom and the honour of his excellent majesty many days, even an hundred and fourscore days.

El le-a arătat bogăţia strălucită a împărăţiei lui şi slava minunată a mărimii lui, în multe zile, timp de o sută optzeci de zile.

while he showed the riches of his royal glory and the splendor and pomp of his greatness for many days, 180 days.

Amikor elmúltak ezek a napok, a király hét napig tartó lakomát rendezett a királyi palota kertjének udvarában az egész népnek, amely Súsán várában tartózkodott, a kicsinytől fogva a nagyig.

És mikor elmultak ezek a napok, tőn a király az egész népnek, mely Susán várában találtaték, kicsinytől nagyig, hét napig tartó lakomát, a király palotája kertjének udvarán.

And when these days were expired, the king made a feast unto all the people that were present in Shushan the palace, both unto great and small, seven days, in the court of the garden of the king's palace;

După ce au trecut aceste zile, împăratul a dat întregului popor care se afla în capitala Susa, de la cel mai mare până la cel mai mic, un ospăţ care a ţinut şapte zile, în curtea grădinii casei împărăteşti.

And when these days were completed, the king gave for all the people present in Susa the citadel, both great and small, a feast lasting for seven days in the court of the garden of the king’s palace.

Fehér vászon- és kék bíbor gyapjúszőnyegek voltak fehér gyapjúból és bíborból való kötelekkel, ezüstkarikákkal a fehérmárvány oszlopokra erősítve. Arany- és ezüstkerevetek voltak az alabástrom-, fehérmárvány, gyöngyház- és sötét márványpadozaton.

Fehér gyapjú és kék bíbor szőnyegek valának megerősítve a fehér gyapjúból és bíborból való köteleken, ezüst karikákon és fehér márványból való oszlopokon. Aranyból és ezüstből való kerevetek voltak az alabástromból, fehér márványból, gyöngykőből és vörös márványból való padozaton.

Where were white, green, and blue, hangings, fastened with cords of fine linen and purple to silver rings and pillars of marble: the beds were of gold and silver, upon a pavement of red, and blue, and white, and black, marble.

Covoare albe, verzi şi albastre erau legate cu funii de in subţire şi de purpură de nişte verigi de argint şi de nişte stâlpi de marmură. Paturi de aur şi de argint stăteau pe o podea de porfir, de marmură, de sidef şi de pietre negre.

There were white cotton curtains and violet hangings fastened with cords of fine linen and purple to silver rods and marble pillars, and also couches of gold and silver on a mosaic pavement of porphyry, marble, mother-of-pearl, and precious stones.

Különféle formájú aranyedényekből ittak, és a királyi bort királyi módon, bőkezűen adták.

Ittak pedig arany poharakból és különb-különbféle poharakból, és királyi bor bőven vala, királyi módon.

And they gave them drink in vessels of gold, (the vessels being diverse one from another,) and royal wine in abundance, according to the state of the king.

Iar de băut turnau în vase de aur de felurite soiuri. Era belşug de vin împărătesc, mulţumită dărniciei împăratului.

Drinks were served in golden vessels, vessels of different kinds, and the royal wine was lavished according to the bounty of the king.

A rendelkezés szerint senkit sem erőltettek, hogy igyon. Így hagyta meg a király háza minden gondviselőjének, hogy mindenkinek kedvére tegyenek.

És az ivás, rendelet folytán, kényszer nélkül [történt;] mert így hagyta meg a király háza minden gondviselőjének, hogy kinek-kinek akarata szerint cselekedjenek.

And the drinking was according to the law; none did compel: for so the king had appointed to all the officers of his house, that they should do according to every man's pleasure.

Dar nimeni nu era silit să bea, căci împăratul poruncise tuturor oamenilor din casa lui să facă după voia fiecăruia.

And drinking was according to this edict: “There is no compulsion.” For the king had given orders to all the staff of his palace to do as each man desired.

Vasti királyné pedig az asszonyoknak készített lakomát Ahasvérós királyi palotájában.

Vásti királyné is lakomát szerze a nőknek, a királyi házban, mely Ahasvérus királyé vala.

Also Vashti the queen made a feast for the women in the royal house which belonged to king Ahasuerus.

Împărăteasa Vasti a dat şi ea un ospăţ femeilor, în casa împărătească a împăratului Ahaşveroş.

Queen Vashti also gave a feast for the women in the palace that belonged to King Ahasuerus.

A hetedik napon, amikor megvidámult a király szíve a bortól, azt parancsolta Mehúmánnak, Bizzetának, Harbónának, Bigtának és Abagtának, Zétarnak és Karkasznak, a hét udvarmesternek, akik Ahasvérós király személye körül látták el a szolgálatot,

Hetedik napon, mikor megvídámult a király szíve a bortól, mondá Méhumánnak, Biztának, Hárbonának, Bigtának és Abagtának, Zetárnak és Karkásnak, a hét udvarmesternek, a kik szolgálának Ahasvérus király előtt,

On the seventh day, when the heart of the king was merry with wine, he commanded Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, and Abagtha, Zethar, and Carcas, the seven chamberlains that served in the presence of Ahasuerus the king,

A şaptea zi, pe când inima împăratului era veselă de vin, a poruncit lui Mehuman, Bizta, Harbona, Bigta, Abagta, Zetar şi Carcas, cei şapte fameni care slujeau înaintea împăratului Ahaşveroş,

On the seventh day, when the heart of the king was merry with wine, he commanded Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha and Abagtha, Zethar and Carkas, the seven eunuchs who served in the presence of King Ahasuerus,

hogy vezessék a király elé Vasti királynét királyi koronával a fején, hogy megmutassa szépségét a népnek és a fejedelmeknek. Mert szép megjelenésű volt.

Hogy hozzák el Vástit, a királynét a király elé, királyi koronával, hogy megmutassa a népeknek és fejedelmeknek az ő szépségét; mert szép arczú vala.

To bring Vashti the queen before the king with the crown royal, to shew the people and the princes her beauty: for she was fair to look on.

să aducă în faţa lui pe împărăteasa Vasti, cu cununa împărătească, pentru ca să arate frumuseţea ei popoarelor şi mai marilor săi, căci era frumoasă la chip.

to bring Queen Vashti before the king with her royal crown, in order to show the peoples and the princes her beauty, for she was lovely to look at.

De Vasti királyné megtagadta, hogy bemenjen a király parancsára, amelyet az udvarmesterek által küldött. Erre igen fölháborodott a király, és haragra gerjedt.

De Vásti királyné nem akara menni a király szavára, mely vala az udvarmesterek által. Erre igen megharagudott a király, és az ő haragja felgerjede benne.

But the queen Vashti refused to come at the king's commandment by his chamberlains: therefore was the king very wroth, and his anger burned in him.

Dar împărăteasa Vasti n-a vrut să vină când a primit prin fameni porunca împăratului. Şi împăratul s-a supărat foarte tare, s-a aprins de mânie.

But Queen Vashti refused to come at the king’s command delivered by the eunuchs. At this the king became enraged, and his anger burned within him.

Megkérdezte hát a király a bölcseket, akik ismerték az elmúlt időket, mert az volt a szokás, hogy a király minden dolgát a jog és törvény tudósai elé vitték.

És monda a király az időket mérő bölcseknek, (mert a királynak összes dolgai a jog- és törvénytudók elé [tartoznak.]

Then the king said to the wise men, which knew the times, (for so was the king's manner toward all that knew law and judgment:

Atunci împăratul a vorbit cu înţelepţii care cunoşteau obiceiurile vremii. Căci aşa se puneau la cale treburile împăratului: înaintea tuturor celor ce cunoşteau legile şi dreptul.

Then the king said to the wise men who knew the times (for this was the king’s procedure toward all who were versed in law and judgment,

Perzsia és Média hét fejedelme, Karsená, Sétár, Admátá, Tarsis, Meresz, Marszená és Memúkán állt a legközelebb hozzá, akik bármikor láthatták a királyt, és a legjelentősebb helyeket töltötték be az országban.

Legközelebb valának pedig hozzá: Karséna, Sétár, Admata, Társis, Méres, Marséna, Mémukán, Persiának és Médiának hét fejedelme, a kik láták a király arczát, [és] elől ülének az országban):

And the next unto him was Carshena, Shethar, Admatha, Tarshish, Meres, Marsena, and Memucan, the seven princes of Persia and Media, which saw the king's face, and which sat the first in the kingdom;)

Avea lângă el pe Carşena, pe Şetar, pe Admata, pe Tarsis, pe Meres, pe Marsena, pe Memucan, şapte domnitori ai Persiei şi Mediei, care vedeau faţa împăratului şi care aveau locul întâi în împărăţie.

the men next to him being Carshena, Shethar, Admatha, Tarshish, Meres, Marsena, and Memucan, the seven princes of Persia and Media, who saw the king’s face, and sat first in the kingdom):

Ezt kérdezte tőlük a király: Mit kell hát cselekedni a törvény szerint Vasti királynéval, mivel nem teljesítette Ahasvérós királynak az udvarmesterek által üzent parancsát?

Törvény szerint mit kellene cselekedni Vásti királynéval, mivelhogy nem teljesíté Ahasvérus királynak az udvarmesterek által üzent beszédét?

What shall we do unto the queen Vashti according to law, because she hath not performed the commandment of the king Ahasuerus by the chamberlains?

„Ce trebuie”, a zis el, „să se facă împărătesei Vasti, după lege, pentru că n-a împlinit ce i-a poruncit împăratul Ahaşveroş prin fameni?”

“According to the law, what is to be done to Queen Vashti, because she has not performed the command of King Ahasuerus delivered by the eunuchs?”

Akkor azt mondta Memúkán a király és a fejedelmek előtt: Nemcsak a király ellen vétkezett Vasti királyné, hanem Ahasvérós király minden tartományának az összes fejedelme és népe ellen is.

Akkor monda Mémukán a király és a fejedelmek előtt: Nemcsak a király ellen vétkezett Vásti királyné; de valamennyi fejedelem és minden nép ellen, Ahasvérus király minden tartományában;

And Memucan answered before the king and the princes, Vashti the queen hath not done wrong to the king only, but also to all the princes, and to all the people that are in all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus.

Memucan a răspuns înaintea împăratului şi domnitorilor: „Nu numai faţă de împărat s-a purtat rău împărăteasa Vasti; ci şi faţă de toţi domnitorii şi de toate popoarele care sunt în toate ţinuturile împăratului Ahaşveroş.

Then Memucan said in the presence of the king and the officials, “Not only against the king has Queen Vashti done wrong, but also against all the officials and all the peoples who are in all the provinces of King Ahasuerus.

Mert a királyné cselekedetének híre eljut minden asszonyhoz, és majd ők is megvetik férjüket, és azt mondják: Ahasvérós király is megparancsolta, hogy Vasti királyné menjen hozzá, de nem ment.

Mert a királyné cselekedetének híre fut minden asszonyhoz, úgy, hogy megvetik férjeiket szemeik előtt, és azt mondják: Ahasvérus király megparancsolá, hogy Vásti királyné hozzá menjen, és nem ment.

For this deed of the queen shall come abroad unto all women, so that they shall despise their husbands in their eyes, when it shall be reported, The king Ahasuerus commanded Vashti the queen to be brought in before him, but she came not.

Căci fapta împărătesei va ajunge la cunoştinţa tuturor femeilor şi le va face să-şi nesocotească bărbaţii. Ele vor zice: „Împăratul Ahaşveroş a poruncit să i se aducă înainte împărăteasa Vasti, şi ea nu s-a dus.”

For the queen’s behavior will be made known to all women, causing them to look at their husbands with contempt, since they will say, ‘King Ahasuerus commanded Queen Vashti to be brought before him, and she did not come.’

És még ma meghallják Perzsia és Média fejedelemasszonyai, hogy mit tett a királyné, és majd ők is így fognak beszélni a király minden fejedelmével, és ebből sok megvetés és harag származik.

És e napon [ugyanazt] fogják mondani Persia és Média fejedelemasszonyai, a kik meghallják a királyné cselekedetét, a király minden fejedelmének, és lesz elég megvetés és harag.

Likewise shall the ladies of Persia and Media say this day unto all the king's princes, which have heard of the deed of the queen. Thus shall there arise too much contempt and wrath.

Şi din ziua aceasta crăiesele Persiei şi Mediei, care vor afla de fapta împărătesei, vor vorbi tot aşa tuturor căpeteniilor împăratului: de aici va veni mult dispreţ şi mânie.

This very day the noble women of Persia and Media who have heard of the queen’s behavior will say the same to all the king’s officials, and there will be contempt and wrath in plenty.

Ha tehát jónak látja a király, bocsásson ki királyi parancsot, és írják azt a visszavonhatatlan perzsa-méd törvények közé, hogy Vasti többé ne jöjjön Ahasvérós király színe elé, és hogy az ő királynői hatalmát adja a király másnak, aki jobb őnála.

Ha azért a királynak tetszik, bocsásson ki királyi parancsot a maga részéről és irattassék a Persa-Méd törvények közé, visszavonhatatlanul, hogy ne jőjjön többé Vásti Ahasvérus király színe elé, és hogy az ő királyságát adja a király másnak, a ki jobb ő nálánál.

If it please the king, let there go a royal commandment from him, and let it be written among the laws of the Persians and the Medes, that it be not altered, That Vashti come no more before king Ahasuerus; and let the king give her royal estate unto another that is better than she.

Dacă împăratul găseşte cu cale, să se dea poruncă din partea lui şi să se scrie în legile perşilor şi mezilor, cu arătarea că nu trebuie să se calce o poruncă împărătească, după care Vasti să nu se mai arate înaintea împăratului Ahaşveroş. Iar împăratul să dea vrednicia de împărăteasă alteia mai bună decât ea.

If it please the king, let a royal order go out from him, and let it be written among the laws of the Persians and the Medes so that it may not be repealed, that Vashti is never again to come before King Ahasuerus. And let the king give her royal position to another who is better than she.

Hadd hallják meg a király által kiadott rendeletet egész országában, amely igen nagy, hogy minden asszony adja meg a tiszteletet az ő férjének, a legnagyobbtól a legkisebbig.

És hallják meg a király rendeletét, a melyet teend, egész országában, mert igen nagy az, hogy minden asszony adja meg a tiszteletet az ő férjének, a legnagyobbtól a legkisebbig.

And when the king's decree which he shall make shall be published throughout all his empire, (for it is great,) all the wives shall give to their husbands honour, both to great and small.

Porunca împăratului se va vesti astfel în toată împărăţia lui – căci este mare – şi toate femeile vor da cinste bărbaţilor lor, de la mare până la mic.”

So when the decree made by the king is proclaimed throughout all his kingdom, for it is vast, all women will give honor to their husbands, high and low alike.”

Ez a tanács megnyerte a király és a fejedelmek tetszését, és a király Memúkán beszéde szerint cselekedett.

És tetszett a szó a királynak és a fejedelmeknek, és a király Mémukán beszéde szerint cselekedék.

And the saying pleased the king and the princes; and the king did according to the word of Memucan:

Părerea aceasta a fost primită de împărat şi de domnitori, şi împăratul a lucrat după cuvântul lui Memucan.

This advice pleased the king and the princes, and the king did as Memucan proposed.

Levelet küldött birodalma minden tartományába, mindegyik tartományhoz a maga írásmódja szerint és minden népnek a maga nyelvén, hogy mindenütt a férfi legyen az úr a maga házában; és ezt hirdessék ki mindegyik nép nyelvén.

És leveleket külde a királynak minden tartományába, tartományról tartományra, annak saját írása szerint, és népről-népre, annak nyelve szerint, hogy legyen minden férfi úr az ő házában és beszéljen az ő népének nyelvén.

For he sent letters into all the king's provinces, into every province according to the writing thereof, and to every people after their language, that every man should bear rule in his own house, and that it should be published according to the language of every people.

A trimis scrisori tuturor ţinuturilor din împărăţia lui, fiecărui ţinut după scrierea lui şi fiecărui popor după limba lui; ele spuneau că orice bărbat trebuie să fie stăpân în casa lui şi că va vorbi limba poporului său.

He sent letters to all the royal provinces, to every province in its own script and to every people in its own language, that every man be master in his own household and speak according to the language of his people.
