He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap.

He who observes the wind will not sow, and he who regards the clouds will not reap.

Ahogyan nem ismered a szél útját és a csontok formálódását a várandós asszony méhében, úgy nem ismerheted meg Isten munkáját sem, aki mindezt véghezviszi.

Miképen hogy nem tudod, melyik a szélnek útja, és miképen vannak a csontok a terhes asszony méhében; azonképen nem tudod az Istennek dolgát, a ki mindeneket cselekszik.

As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all.

In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good.

Dimineaţa seamănă-ţi sămânţa, şi până seara nu lăsa mâna să ţi se odihnească, fiindcă nu ştii ce va izbuti, aceasta sau aceea, sau dacă amândouă sunt deopotrivă de bune.

Azért ha sok esztendeig él is az ember, mindig örvendezzen, de emlékezzék meg a sötét napokról, mert az sok lesz, és ami eljön, az is mind hiábavalóság.

Mert ha sok esztendeig él is az ember, mindazokban örvendezzen; és megemlékezzék a setétségnek napjairól, mert az sok lesz. Valami eljövendő, mind hiábavalóság.

But if a man live many years, and rejoice in them all; yet let him remember the days of darkness; for they shall be many. All that cometh is vanity.

Deci, dacă un om trăieşte mulţi ani, să se bucure în toţi anii aceştia şi să se gândească ce multe vor fi zilele de întuneric. Tot ce va veni este deşertăciune.

So if a person lives many years, let him rejoice in them all; but let him remember that the days of darkness will be many. All that comes is vanity.

Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.

Bucură-te, tinere, în tinereţea ta, fii cu inima veselă cât eşti tânăr, umblă pe căile alese de inima ta şi plăcute ochilor tăi; dar să ştii că pentru toate acestea te va chema Dumnezeu la judecată.

Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity.

Goneşte orice necaz din inima ta şi depărtează răul din trupul tău; căci tinereţea şi zorile vieţii sunt trecătoare.
