Fektemben éjjelente kerestem őt, akit szeret a lelkem, kerestem, de nem találtam meg.

Az én ágyasházamban éjjeleken keresém azt, a kit szeret az én lelkem, keresém őt, és meg nem találtam.

Immár fölkelek, és bejárom a várost, a tereket és az utcákat, megkeresem, akit szeret a lelkem. Kerestem őt, de nem találtam.

Immár felkelek és eljárom a várost, a tereket és az utczákat, keresem azt, a kit szeret az én lelkem; keresém őt, és nem találám.

I will rise now, and go about the city in the streets, and in the broad ways I will seek him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.

Rám találtak az őrök, akik a várost járják. Azt kérdeztem tőlük: Láttátok-e azt, akit szeret a lelkem?

Megtalálának engem az őrizők, a kik a várost kerülik. [Mondék nékik:] Láttátok-é azt, a kit az én lelkem szeret?

The watchmen that go about the city found me: to whom I said, Saw ye him whom my soul loveth?

M-au întâlnit păzitorii care dau ocol cetăţii; şi i-am întrebat: „N-aţi văzut pe iubitul inimii mele?”

The watchmen found me as they went about in the city. “Have you seen him whom my soul loves?”

Alig mentem tovább tőlük, megtaláltam azt, akit szeret a lelkem. Megragadtam, el nem bocsátom, míg be nem viszem anyám házába, szülőmnek szobájába.

Alig mentem vala el azoktól, mikor megtaláltam azt, a kit az én lelkem szeret. Megragadám őt, el sem bocsátám, mígnem bevivém őt anyám házába, és az én szülőmnek ágyasházába.

It was but a little that I passed from them, but I found him whom my soul loveth: I held him, and would not let him go, until I had brought him into my mother's house, and into the chamber of her that conceived me.

Abia trecusem de ei şi am găsit pe iubitul inimii mele. L-am apucat şi nu l-am mai lăsat până nu l-am adus în casa mamei mele, în odaia celei ce m-a zămislit. –

Scarcely had I passed them when I found him whom my soul loves. I held him, and would not let him go until I had brought him into my mother’s house, and into the chamber of her who conceived me.

Kényszerítelek titeket, Jeruzsálem leányai, a gazellákra és a mezei szarvasokra, ne költsétek föl, ne ébresszétek föl a szerelmet, amíg nem akarja!

I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he please.

Vă jur, fiice ale Ierusalimului, pe căprioarele şi cerboaicele de pe câmp: nu stârniţi, nu treziţi dragostea până nu vine ea. –

I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, by the gazelles or the does of the field, that you not stir up or awaken love until it pleases.

Ki az, aki úgy jön föl a pusztából, mint valami füstoszlop, mirhától és tömjéntől, a kereskedő mindenféle jó illatú porától illatosan?

Who is this that cometh out of the wilderness like pillars of smoke, perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, with all powders of the merchant?

Ce se vede suindu-se din pustiu ca nişte stâlpi de fum, în mijlocul aburilor de mir şi de tămâie, înconjurată de toate miresmele negustorilor de mir? –

What is that coming up from the wilderness like columns of smoke, perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, with all the fragrant powders of a merchant?

Íme, Salamon gyaloghintaja ez, hatvan erős férfi van körülötte Izráel hősei közül!

Ímé, ez a Salamon gyaloghintaja, hatvan erős [férfi] van körülötte, Izráelnek erősei közül!

Behold his bed, which is Solomon's; threescore valiant men are about it, of the valiant of Israel.

Iată, este pataşca lui Solomon, cu şaizeci de viteji de jur împrejur, cei mai viteji din Israel.

Behold, it is the litter of Solomon! Around it are sixty mighty men, some of the mighty men of Israel,

Mindnyájan fegyverforgatók, hadakozásban tapasztaltak, mindegyiknek kard van az oldalán az éjszaka rémei ellen.

They all hold swords, being expert in war: every man hath his sword upon his thigh because of fear in the night.

Toţi sunt înarmaţi cu săbii şi toţi sunt deprinşi la luptă, fiecare cu sabia la coapsă, ca să n-aibă nimic de temut în timpul nopţii.

all of them wearing swords and expert in war, each with his sword at his thigh, against terror by night.

Oszlopait ezüstből csináltatta, oldalát aranyból, ülését bíborból, belső részét szeretettel hímezték Jeruzsálem leányai.

He made the pillars thereof of silver, the bottom thereof of gold, the covering of it of purple, the midst thereof being paved with love, for the daughters of Jerusalem.

Stâlpii i-a făcut de argint, rezemătoarea, de aur, scaunul, de purpură; iar mijlocul, împodobit cu o ţesătură aleasă, lucrată de dragostea fiicelor Ierusalimului.

He made its posts of silver, its back of gold, its seat of purple; its interior was inlaid with love by the daughters of Jerusalem.

Jőjjetek ki, és nézzétek, Sionnak leányai, Salamon királyt a koronában, melylyel megkoronázta őt az anyja, az ő eljegyzésének napjára, és az ő szíve vígasságának napjára!

Go forth, O ye daughters of Zion, and behold king Solomon with the crown wherewith his mother crowned him in the day of his espousals, and in the day of the gladness of his heart.

Ieşiţi, fetele Sionului, şi priviţi pe împăratul Solomon, cu cununa cu care l-a încununat mama sa în ziua cununiei lui, în ziua veseliei inimii lui. –

Go out, O daughters of Zion, and look upon King Solomon, with the crown with which his mother crowned him on the day of his wedding, on the day of the gladness of his heart.
