Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope;

Amikor Macedóniába mentem, kértelek téged, hogy maradj Efezusban, és parancsold meg némelyeknek, hogy ne hirdessenek tévtanokat,

A miképpen Maczedóniába menetelemkor kértelek téged, hogy maradj Efézusban, hogy megmondjad némelyeknek, ne tanítsanak más tudományt,

As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,

După cum te-am rugat, la plecarea mea în Macedonia, să rămâi în Efes, ca să porunceşti unora să nu înveţe pe alţii altă învăţătură

As I urged you when I was going to Macedonia, remain at Ephesus so that you may charge certain persons not to teach any different doctrine,

se mesékkel és vég nélküli nemzetségtáblázatokkal ne foglalkozzanak, amelyek inkább vitatkozást támasztanak, mint Isten szerinti épülést hit által.

Se mesékkel és végehossza nélkül való nemzetségi táblázatokkal ne foglalkozzanak, a melyek inkább versengéseket támasztanak, mint Istenben való épülést a hit által.

Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.

şi să nu se ţină de basme şi de înşirări de neamuri fără sfârşit, care dau naştere mai mult la certuri de vorbe decât fac să înainteze lucrul lui Dumnezeu prin credinţă, aşa fac şi acum.

nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies, which promote speculations rather than the stewardship from God that is by faith.

A rendelkezés célja a tiszta szívből, jó lelkiismeretből és képmutatás nélküli hitből való szeretet.

A parancsolatnak vége pedig a tiszta szívből, jó lelkiismeretből és igaz hitből való szeretet:

Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:

Ţinta poruncii este dragostea, care vine dintr-o inimă curată, dintr-un cuget bun şi dintr-o credinţă neprefăcută.

The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.

Ettől némelyek eltévelyedtek, az üres beszédre hajlottak,

Melyektől némelyek eltévelyedvén, hiábavaló beszédre hajlottak:

From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;

Unii, fiindcă s-au depărtat de aceste lucruri, au rătăcit şi s-au apucat de flecării.

Certain persons, by swerving from these, have wandered away into vain discussion,

törvénytanítók akarnak lenni, de nem értik sem azokat, amiket beszélnek, sem azokat, amiket bizonygatnak.

Kik törvénytanítók akarván lenni, nem értik, sem a miket beszélnek, sem a miket erősítgetnek.

Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.

Ei vor să fie învăţători ai Legii, şi nu ştiu nici măcar ce spun, nici ce urmăresc.

desiring to be teachers of the law, without understanding either what they are saying or the things about which they make confident assertions.

But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;

Noi ştim că Legea este bună dacă cineva o întrebuinţează bine,

Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it lawfully,

és tudja, hogy a törvényt nem az igazért rendelték, hanem a törvényszegőkért és engedetlenekért, az istentelenekért és bűnösökért, a szentségtelenekért és a latrokért, az apagyilkosokért és anyagyilkosokért, az emberölőkért,

Tudván azt, hogy a törvény nem az igazért van, hanem a törvénytaposókért és engedetlenekért, az istentelenekért és bűnösökért, a latrokért és fertelmesekért, az atya- és anyagyilkosokért, emberölőkért.

Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,

understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers,

And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;

Mulţumesc lui Hristos Isus, Domnul nostru, care m-a întărit, că m-a socotit vrednic de încredere şi m-a pus în slujba Lui,

I thank him who has given me strength, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he judged me faithful, appointing me to his service,

Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

măcar că mai înainte eram un hulitor, un prigonitor şi batjocoritor. Dar am căpătat îndurare, pentru că lucram din neştiinţă, în necredinţă!

though formerly I was a blasphemer, persecutor, and insolent opponent. But I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in unbelief,

De bőségesen kiáradt rám a mi Urunk kegyelme a Krisztus Jézusban való hittel és szeretettel.

Szerfelett megsokasodott pedig a mi Urunknak kegyelme a Krisztus Jézusban való hittel és szeretettel.

And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

Şi harul Domnului nostru s-a înmulţit peste măsură de mult împreună cu credinţa şi cu dragostea care este în Hristos Isus.

and the grace of our Lord overflowed for me with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.

Igaz beszéd ez és teljes elfogadásra méltó, hogy Krisztus Jézus azért jött e világra, hogy a bűnösöket megmentse, akik között én vagyok az első.

This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

O, adevărat şi cu totul vrednic de primit este cuvântul care zice: „Hristos Isus a venit în lume ca să mântuiască pe cei păcătoşi”, dintre care cel dintâi sunt eu.

The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost.

De azért könyörült rajtam, hogy Krisztus Jézus bennem mutassa meg legelőbb teljes hosszútűrését, példa gyanánt azoknak, akik majd hisznek benne az örök életre.

But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life.

This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;

This charge I entrust to you, Timothy, my child, in accordance with the prophecies previously made about you, that by them you may wage the good warfare,

Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:
