Akik a szolgaság igája alatt vannak, saját uraiknak adják meg a kijáró tiszteletet, hogy Isten nevét és a tanítást ne káromolják miattuk.

A kik iga alatt vannak mint szolgák, az ő uraikat minden tisztességre méltóknak tekintsék, hogy Isten neve és a tudomány ne káromoltassék.

Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.

Toţi cei ce sunt sub jugul robiei să socotească pe stăpânii lor vrednici de toată cinstea, ca Numele lui Dumnezeu şi învăţătura să nu fie vorbite de rău.

Let all who are under a yoke as bondservants regard their own masters as worthy of all honor, so that the name of God and the teaching may not be reviled.

Akiknek pedig hívő uraik vannak, azokat ne becsüljék le, mivelhogy testvérek, hanem annál inkább szolgáljanak nekik, éppen azért, mert hívők és szeretettek, akik a jótevésben buzgólkodnak. Ezeket tanítsd, és ezekre buzdíts!

A kiknek pedig hívő uraik vannak, [azokat] meg ne vessék, mivelhogy atyafiak; hanem annál inkább szolgáljanak, mivelhogy hívők és szeretettek, kik a jótevésben buzgólkodnak. Ezekre taníts és ints.

And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.

Iar cei ce au stăpâni credincioşi să nu-i dispreţuiască, sub cuvânt că sunt „fraţi”, ci să le slujească şi mai bine, tocmai fiindcă cei ce se bucură de binefacerile slujbei lor sunt credincioşi şi preaiubiţi. Învaţă pe oameni aceste lucruri şi spune-le apăsat.

Those who have believing masters must not be disrespectful on the ground that they are brothers; rather they must serve all the better since those who benefit by their good service are believers and beloved. Teach and urge these things.

Ha valaki mást tanít, és nem tartja magát a mi Urunk Jézus Krisztus egészséges beszédeihez és a kegyesség szerint való tanításhoz,

Ha valaki másképen tanít, és nem követi a mi Urunk Jézus Krisztus egészséges beszédeit és a kegyesség szerint való tudományt,

If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

Dacă învaţă cineva pe oameni învăţătură deosebită, şi nu se ţine de cuvintele sănătoase ale Domnului nostru Isus Hristos şi de învăţătura care duce la evlavie,

If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness,

He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving for controversy and for quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions,

Ezek megbomlott elméjű és az igazságtól megfosztott emberek hiábavaló torzsalkodásai, akik az istenfélelmet nyerészkedésnek tekintik.

Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

zadarnicele ciocniri de vorbe ale oamenilor stricaţi la minte, lipsiţi de adevăr şi care cred că evlavia este un izvor de câştig. Fereşte-te de astfel de oameni.

and constant friction among people who are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth, imagining that godliness is a means of gain.

Akik pedig meg akarnak gazdagodni, kísértésbe meg csapdába és sok esztelen és káros kívánságba esnek, amelyek csak pusztulásba és romlásba döntik az embereket.

But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

Cei ce vor să se îmbogăţească, dimpotrivă, cad în ispită, în laţ şi în multe pofte nesăbuite şi vătămătoare, care cufundă pe oameni în prăpăd şi pierzare.

But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Căci iubirea de bani este rădăcina tuturor relelor; şi unii, care au umblat după ea, au rătăcit de la credinţă şi s-au străpuns singuri cu o mulţime de chinuri.

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.

De te, Isten embere, kerüld ezeket, viszont törekedj az igazságra, az istenfélelemre, a hitre, a szeretetre, a béketűrésre, a szelídségre.

De te, óh Istennek embere, ezeket kerüld; hanem kövessed az igazságot, az istenfélelmet, a hitet, a szeretetet, a békességes tűrést, a szelídséget.

But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

Iar tu, om al lui Dumnezeu, fugi de aceste lucruri, şi caută neprihănirea, evlavia, credinţa, dragostea, răbdarea, blândeţea.

But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness.

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

Luptă-te lupta cea bună a credinţei; apucă viaţa veşnică, la care ai fost chemat şi pentru care ai făcut acea frumoasă mărturisire înaintea multor martori.

Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see. To him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.

Azoknak, akik ezen a világon gazdagok, hagyd meg, hogy ne legyenek nagyra törők, és ne a bizonytalan gazdagságban reménykedjenek, hanem Istenben, aki bőségesen megad nekünk mindent a megélhetésünkhöz.

Azoknak, a kik gazdagok e világon, mondd meg, hogy ne fuvalkodjanak fel, se ne reménykedjenek a bizonytalan gazdagságban, hanem az élő Istenben, a ki bőségesen megad nékünk mindent a mi tápláltatásunkra;

Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

Îndeamnă pe bogaţii veacului acestuia să nu se îngâmfe şi să nu-şi pună nădejdea în nişte bogăţii nestatornice, ci în Dumnezeu, care ne dă toate lucrurile din belşug, ca să ne bucurăm de ele.

As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy.

That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share,

aşa ca să-şi strângă pentru vremea viitoare, drept comoară, o bună temelie, pentru ca să apuce adevărata viaţă.

thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.

Timóteus, őrizd meg, ami rád van bízva, fordulj el a szentségtelen, üres beszédektől és a hazug módon ismeretnek nevezett ellenvetésektől,

Óh Timótheus, őrizd meg a mi rád van bízva, elfordulván a szentségtelen üres beszédektől és a hamis nevű ismeretnek ellenvetéseitől;

O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:

Timoteie, păzeşte ce ţi s-a încredinţat; fereşte-te de flecăriile lumeşti şi de împotrivirile ştiinţei, pe nedrept numite astfel,

O Timothy, guard the deposit entrusted to you. Avoid the irreverent babble and contradictions of what is falsely called “knowledge,”
