Timóteusnak, szeretett gyermekemnek: Kegyelem, irgalom, békesség Istentől, a mi Atyánktól és Krisztus Jézustól, a mi Urunktól.

Timótheusnak, az én szeretett fiamnak: kegyelem, irgalmasság, békesség az Atya Istentől és Krisztus Jézustól, a mi Urunktól.

To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

Hálát adok Istennek, akinek őseimtől fogva tiszta lelkiismerettel szolgálok, amint szüntelen megemlékezem rólad imádságaimban éjjel és nappal.

I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;

Mulţumesc lui Dumnezeu, căruia Îi slujesc cu un cuget curat, din moşi strămoşi, că neîntrerupt te pomenesc în rugăciunile mele, zi şi noapte.

I thank God whom I serve, as did my ancestors, with a clear conscience, as I remember you constantly in my prayers night and day.

Könnyeidre emlékezve látni kívánlak, hogy öröm töltsön el.

Kívánván téged látni, megemlékezvén a te könyhullatásaidról, hogy örömmel teljesedjem be;

Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy;

Căci mi-aduc aminte de lacrimile tale şi doresc să te văd, ca să mă umplu de bucurie.

As I remember your tears, I long to see you, that I may be filled with joy.

Eszembe jut a benned levő, képmutatás nélküli hit, amely először nagyanyádban, Lóiszban, majd anyádban, Eunikében lakozott, de meg vagyok győződve arról, hogy benned is megvan.

Eszembe jutván a benned levő, képmutatás nélkül való hit, a mely lakozott először a te nagyanyádban Loisban és anyádban Eunikában; meg vagyok azonban győződve, hogy benned is.

When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.

Îmi aduc aminte de credinţa ta neprefăcută, care s-a sălăşluit întâi în bunica ta Lois şi în mama ta, Eunice, şi sunt încredinţat că şi în tine.

I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well.

Ezért emlékeztetlek téged, hogy gerjeszd fel az Isten kegyelmi ajándékát, amely kezem rád tétele által van benned.

Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.

For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands,

Mert nem a félénkség lelkét adta nekünk Isten, hanem az erő, a szeretet és a józanság lelkét.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Căci Dumnezeu nu ne-a dat un duh de frică, ci de putere, de dragoste şi de chibzuinţă.

for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

Ne szégyelld hát a mi Urunkról szóló bizonyságtételt, se engem, az ő foglyát, hanem vállald velem együtt a szenvedést az evangéliumért, Isten ereje által,

Ne szégyeneld hát a mi Urunk bizonyságtételét, se engem az ő foglyát; hanem együtt szenvedj az evangyéliomért Istennek hatalma szerint.

Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

Să nu-ţi fie ruşine, dar, de mărturisirea Domnului nostru, nici de mine, întemniţatul Lui. Ci suferă împreună cu Evanghelia, prin puterea lui Dumnezeu.

Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God,

Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began,

But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

and which now has been manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,

Ezért is szenvedem ezeket, de nem szégyellem, mert tudom, kinek hittem, és meg vagyok győződve róla, hogy a nála letett kincsemet meg tudja őrizni arra a napra.

For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

By the Holy Spirit who dwells within us, guard the good deposit entrusted to you.

This thou knowest, that all they which are in Asia be turned away from me; of whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes.

You are aware that all who are in Asia turned away from me, among whom are Phygelus and Hermogenes.

Az Úr legyen irgalmas Onéziforosz házanépéhez, mert gyakorta megvidámított engem, és nem szégyellte bilincsemet.

Az Úr legyen irgalmas az Onesiforus házanépének: mert gyakorta megvidámított engem, és az én bilincsemet nem szégyenlette;

The Lord give mercy unto the house of Onesiphorus; for he oft refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain:

Domnul să-Şi verse îndurarea peste casa lui Onisifor; căci de multe ori m-a mângâiat şi nu i-a fost ruşine de lanţul meu.

May the Lord grant mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, for he often refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chains,

But, when he was in Rome, he sought me out very diligently, and found me.

Adja meg neki az Úr, hogy irgalmasságot találjon az Úrnál azon a napon. És hogy milyen nagy szolgálatot tett Efezusban, te tudod a legjobban.

Az Úr engedje meg néki, hogy találjon irgalmasságot az Úrnál ama napon. És hogy mily nagy szolgálatot tett Efézusban, te jobban tudod.

The Lord grant unto him that he may find mercy of the Lord in that day: and in how many things he ministered unto me at Ephesus, thou knowest very well.

Dea Domnul să capete îndurare de la Domnul „în ziua aceea”. Tu ştii foarte bine cât ajutor mi-a dat el în Efes.

may the Lord grant him to find mercy from the Lord on that day!—and you well know all the service he rendered at Ephesus.
