Fiam, te azért erősödj meg a Krisztus Jézusban való kegyelemben,

Te annakokáért, én fiam, erősödjél meg a Krisztus Jézusban való kegyelemben;

Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

Tu, dar, copilul meu, întăreşte-te în harul care este în Hristos Isus.

You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus,

és amiket tőlem hallottál sok tanú jelenlétében, azokat bízd hű emberekre, akik mások tanítására is alkalmasak lesznek.

És a miket tőlem hallottál sok bizonyság által, azokat bízzad hív emberekre, a kik másoknak a tanítására is alkalmasak lesznek.

And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

Şi, ce-ai auzit de la mine în faţa multor martori, încredinţează la oameni de încredere, care să fie în stare să înveţe şi pe alţii.

and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.

Vállald velem együtt a szenvedést, mint Jézus Krisztus jó vitéze.

Te azért a munkának terhét hordozzad, mint a Jézus Krisztus jó vitéze.

Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

Suferă împreună cu mine, ca un bun ostaş al lui Hristos.

Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.

Egy harcos sem elegyedik bele az élet dolgaiba, hogy megnyerje annak tetszését, aki őt harcosává fogadta.

Egy harczos sem elegyedik bele az élet dolgaiba; hogy tessék annak, a ki őt harczossá avatta.

No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

Niciun ostaş nu se încurcă cu treburile vieţii, dacă vrea să placă celui ce l-a înscris la oaste.

No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him.

Ha pedig versenyez is valaki, nem nyer koszorút, ha nem szabályszerűen versenyez.

Ha pedig küzd is valaki, nem koronáztatik meg, ha nem szabályszerűen küzd.

And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.

Şi cine luptă la jocuri nu este încununat, dacă nu s-a luptat după rânduieli.

An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules.

A ki munkálkodik, a földmívelőnek kell a gyümölcsökben először részesülnie.

The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.

Plugarul trebuie să muncească înainte ca să strângă roadele.

It is the hard-working farmer who ought to have the first share of the crops.

Fontold meg, amit mondok, mert az Úr megértést ad majd neked mindenben.

Értsd meg a mit mondok; adjon azért az Úr néked belátást mindenekben.

Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.

Înţelege ce-ţi spun; Domnul îţi va da pricepere în toate lucrurile.

Think over what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything.

Emlékezz meg arról, hogy Jézus Krisztus feltámadt a halottak közül, aki a Dávid magvából való az én evangéliumom szerint,

Emlékezzél meg, hogy Jézus Krisztus feltámadott a halálból, ki a Dávid magvából való az én evangyéliomom szerint:

Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:

Adu-ţi aminte de Domnul Isus Hristos, din sămânţa lui David, înviat din morţi, după Evanghelia mea,

Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, the offspring of David, as preached in my gospel,

amelyért még bilincseket is szenvedek, mint egy gonosztevő, de Isten beszéde nincs bilincsbe verve.

A melyért, mint egy gonosztevő, szenvedek mind a fogságig; de az Istennek beszéde nincs bilincsbe verve.

Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.

pentru care sufăr până acolo că sunt legat ca un făcător de rele. Dar Cuvântul lui Dumnezeu nu este legat.

for which I am suffering, bound with chains as a criminal. But the word of God is not bound!

Azért mindent eltűrök a választottakért, hogy ők is elnyerjék a Krisztus Jézusban való üdvösséget örök dicsőséggel.

Annakokáért mindent elszenvedek a választottakért, hogy ők is elnyerjék a Krisztus Jézusban való idvességet örök dicsőséggel egyben.

Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

De aceea rabd totul pentru cei aleşi, pentru ca şi ei să capete mântuirea care este în Hristos Isus, împreună cu slava veşnică.

Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

Igaz beszéd ez: ha vele együtt meghaltunk, vele együtt fogunk élni is.

It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:

Adevărat este cuvântul acesta: dacă am murit împreună cu El, vom şi trăi împreună cu El.

The saying is trustworthy, for: If we have died with him, we will also live with him;

If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:

Dacă răbdăm, vom şi împărăţi împreună cu El. Dacă ne lepădăm de El, şi El Se va lepăda de noi.

if we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us;

If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

Dacă suntem necredincioşi, totuşi El rămâne credincios, căci nu Se poate tăgădui singur.

if we are faithless, he remains faithful— for he cannot deny himself.

Ezekre emlékeztesd és kérve kérjed őket Isten színe előtt, hogy ne vitatkozzanak haszontalanul, a hallgatók romlására.

Ezekre emlékeztesd, kérvén kérve [őket] az Úr színe előtt, hogy ne vitatkozzanak haszontalanul, a hallgatóknak romlására.

Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.

Adu-le aminte de aceste lucruri şi roagă-i fierbinte, înaintea lui Dumnezeu, să se ferească de certurile de cuvinte, care nu duc la alt folos decât la pieirea celor ce le ascultă.

Remind them of these things, and charge them before God not to quarrel about words, which does no good, but only ruins the hearers.

Igyekezz kipróbált munkásként megállni Isten előtt, mint aki nem vall szégyent, és helyesen hasogatja az igazság beszédét.

Igyekezzél, hogy Isten előtt becsületesen megállj, mint oly munkás, a ki szégyent nem vall, a ki helyesen hasogatja az igazságnak beszédét.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Caută să te înfăţişezi înaintea lui Dumnezeu ca un om încercat, ca un lucrător care n-are de ce să-i fie ruşine şi care împarte drept Cuvântul adevărului.

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

A szentségtelen, üres fecsegőket pedig kerüld, mert azok többnyire istentelenségre vezetnek,

A szentségtelen üres lármákat pedig kerüld, mert mind nagyobb istentelenségre növekednek.

But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

Fereşte-te de vorbăriile goale şi lumeşti; căci cei ce le ţin vor înainta tot mai mult în necinstirea lui Dumnezeu.

But avoid irreverent babble, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness,

és beszédük, mint a rákos fekély, terjed. Közülük való Hümenaiosz és Filétosz,

És az ő beszédök mint a rákfekély terjed; közülök való Himenéus és Filétus.

And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;

Şi cuvântul lor va roade ca cangrena. Din numărul acestora sunt Imeneu şi Filet,

and their talk will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus,

Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.

who have swerved from the truth, saying that the resurrection has already happened. They are upsetting the faith of some.

Mindazáltal megáll az Isten erős fundamentuma, melynek a pecsétje ez: Ismeri az Úr az övéit, és álljon el a hamisságtól mindenki, aki az Úr nevét vallja.

Mindazáltal megáll az Istennek erős fundamentoma, melynek pecséte ez: Ismeri az Úr az övéit; és: Álljon el a hamisságtól minden, a ki Krisztus nevét vallja.

Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Totuşi temelia tare a lui Dumnezeu stă nezguduită, având pecetea aceasta: „Domnul cunoaşte pe cei ce sunt ai Lui”; şi: „Oricine rosteşte Numele Domnului să se depărteze de fărădelege!”

But God’s firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of the Lord depart from iniquity.”

Egy nagy házban pedig nemcsak arany- és ezüstedények vannak, hanem fa- és cserépedények is, és azok közül némelyek tisztességre, némelyek pedig közönséges használatra valók.

Nagy házban pedig nemcsak arany- és ezüstedények vannak, hanem fából és cserépből valók is; és azok közül némelyek tisztességre, némelyek pedig gyalázatra valók.

But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.

Într-o casă mare nu sunt numai vase de aur şi de argint, ci şi de lemn şi de pământ. Unele sunt pentru o întrebuinţare de cinste, iar altele pentru o întrebuinţare de ocară.

Now in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver but also of wood and clay, some for honorable use, some for dishonorable.

Ha tehát valaki megtisztítja magát ezektől, tisztességre való edény lesz, megszentelt és hasznos a gazdának, minden jó cselekedetre alkalmas.

Ha tehát valaki magát ezektől tisztán tartja, tisztességre való edény lesz, megszentelt, és hasznos a gazdának, minden jó cselekedetre alkalmas.

If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

Deci, dacă cineva se curăţă de acestea, va fi un vas de cinste, sfinţit, folositor stăpânului său, destoinic pentru orice lucrare bună.

Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.

Az ifjúkori kívánságokat pedig kerüld, hanem kövesd az igazságot, a hitet, a szeretetet, a békességet azokkal együtt, akik tiszta szívből segítségül hívják az Urat.

Az ifjúkori kivánságokat pedig kerüld; hanem kövessed az igazságot, a hitet, a szeretetet, a békességet azokkal egyetembe, a kik segítségül hívják az Urat tiszta szívből.

Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Fugi de poftele tinereţii şi urmăreşte neprihănirea, credinţa, dragostea, pacea, împreună cu cei ce cheamă pe Domnul dintr-o inimă curată.

So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.

Az ostoba és gyermekes vitatkozásokat pedig kerüld, tudva, hogy azok csak veszekedést eredményeznek.

A botor és gyermekes vitatkozásokat pedig kerüld, tudván, hogy azok háborúságokat szülnek.

But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.

Fereşte-te de întrebările nebune şi nefolositoare, căci ştii că dau naştere la certuri.

Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels.

Az Úr szolgájának pedig nem kell veszekedni, hanem legyen barátságos mindenkihez, a tanításban járatos, türelmes,

Az Úr szolgájának pedig nem kell torzsalkodni, hanem legyen mindenkihez nyájas, tanításra alkalmas, türelmes.

And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,

Şi robul Domnului nu trebuie să se certe; ci să fie blând cu toţi, în stare să înveţe pe toţi, plin de îngăduinţă răbdătoare,

And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil,

A ki szelíden fenyíti az ellenszegülőket; ha talán adna nékik az Isten megtérést az igazság megismerésére,

In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

să îndrepte cu blândeţe pe potrivnici, în nădejdea că Dumnezeu le va da pocăinţa, ca să ajungă la cunoştinţa adevărului;

correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth,

hogy felocsúdjanak az ördög csapdájából, aki foglyul ejtette őket, hogy akaratát teljesítsék.

És felocsudnának az ördög tőréből, foglyokká tétetvén az [Úr szolgája] által az [Isten] akaratára.

And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

şi, venindu-şi în fire, să se desprindă din cursa diavolului, de care au fost prinşi ca să-i facă voia.

and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.
