Egyszer azt mondta neki Naomi, az anyósa: Édes leányom! Ne keressek-e neked nyugodalmat, hogy jól legyen dolgod?

És monda néki Naómi, az ő napaasszonya: Édes leányom! ne keressek-é néked nyugalmat, hogy jól legyen dolgod?

Then Naomi her mother in law said unto her, My daughter, shall I not seek rest for thee, that it may be well with thee?

Soacra sa, Naomi, i-a zis: „Fiica mea, aş vrea să-ţi dau un loc de odihnă, ca să fii fericită.

Then Naomi her mother-in-law said to her, “My daughter, should I not seek rest for you, that it may be well with you?

Hát nem rokonunk-e Boáz, akinek szolgálóival voltál? Íme, ő ma éjjel árpát szór a szérűn.

Avagy nem rokonunk-é Boáz, a kinek szolgálóival voltál? Ímé ő az éjjel árpát szór a szérűn.

And now is not Boaz of our kindred, with whose maidens thou wast? Behold, he winnoweth barley to night in the threshingfloor.

Şi acum Boaz, cu ale cărui slujnice ai fost, nu este el rudă cu noi? Iată, el are să vânture la noapte orzul în arie.

Is not Boaz our relative, with whose young women you were? See, he is winnowing barley tonight at the threshing floor.

Azért fürödj meg, kend meg magadat, vedd föl a legszebb ruhádat, és menj le a szérűre. De ne mutatkozz addig a férfi előtt, amíg be nem fejezi az evést és az ivást.

Annakokáért fürödjél meg, és kend meg magadat, és vedd magadra ruháidat, és menj le a szérűre; észre ne vétesd magadat a férfiúval, a míg el nem végezi ételét és italát.

Wash thyself therefore, and anoint thee, and put thy raiment upon thee, and get thee down to the floor: but make not thyself known unto the man, until he shall have done eating and drinking.

Spală-te şi unge-te, apoi îmbracă-te cu hainele tale şi coboară-te la arie. Să nu te faci cunoscută lui, până va isprăvi de mâncat şi de băut.

Wash therefore and anoint yourself, and put on your cloak and go down to the threshing floor, but do not make yourself known to the man until he has finished eating and drinking.

Majd ha lefekszik, jegyezd meg azt a helyet, ahol nyugszik, menj oda, hajtsd föl a takarót a lábánál, és feküdj oda. Ő majd megmondja neked, mit cselekedjél.

És majd ha lefekszik, jegyezd meg a helyet, a hol fekszik, és menj oda, és hajtsd fel a leplet lábánál, és feküdjél oda. Ő majd megmondja néked, mit cselekedjél.

And it shall be, when he lieth down, that thou shalt mark the place where he shall lie, and thou shalt go in, and uncover his feet, and lay thee down; and he will tell thee what thou shalt do.

Şi când se va duce să se culce, însemnează-ţi locul unde se culcă. Apoi du-te, descoperă-i picioarele şi culcă-te. Şi el însuşi îţi va spune ce să faci.”

But when he lies down, observe the place where he lies. Then go and uncover his feet and lie down, and he will tell you what to do.”

Ruth ezt mondta neki: Mindazt, amit tanácsolsz, megteszem.

És ő monda néki: Mindazt, a mit mondasz, megcselekszem.

And she said unto her, All that thou sayest unto me I will do.

Ea i-a răspuns: „Voi face tot ce ai spus.”

And she replied, “All that you say I will do.”

Lement hát a szérűre, és mindent úgy tett, ahogy anyósa tanácsolta.

És lement a szérűre, és mindent úgy cselekedett, a mint napaasszonya parancsolta.

And she went down unto the floor, and did according to all that her mother in law bade her.

Rut s-a coborât la arie şi a făcut tot ce poruncise soacra sa.

So she went down to the threshing floor and did just as her mother-in-law had commanded her.

Boáz evett, ivott, és vidám kedve támadt. Majd elment, hogy lefeküdjék az asztag mellett. Ruth erre titkon odament, felhajtotta lábánál a takarót, és oda lefeküdt.

És Boáz evett és ivott, és felvidámult az ő szíve. És elment, hogy lefeküdjék a garmada szélén; és az eljött titkon, és felhajtá lába felől a leplet, és lefeküvék.

And when Boaz had eaten and drunk, and his heart was merry, he went to lie down at the end of the heap of corn: and she came softly, and uncovered his feet, and laid her down.

Boaz a mâncat şi a băut, şi inima-i era veselă. S-a dus şi s-a culcat la marginea unui stog. Rut a venit atunci încet de tot, i-a descoperit picioarele şi s-a culcat.

And when Boaz had eaten and drunk, and his heart was merry, he went to lie down at the end of the heap of grain. Then she came softly and uncovered his feet and lay down.

Éjféltájban történt, hogy fölriadt a férfi, és megfordult. S íme: egy asszony fekszik a lábánál!

Történt pedig éjfél tájon, hogy felrettent a férfiú, és odafordult. És ímé: asszony fekszik az ő lábainál.

And it came to pass at midnight, that the man was afraid, and turned himself: and, behold, a woman lay at his feet.

La miezul nopţii, omul s-a speriat; s-a plecat şi iată că o femeie era culcată la picioarele lui.

At midnight the man was startled and turned over, and behold, a woman lay at his feet!

Megkérdezte: Ki vagy te? Ő azt mondta: Ruth vagyok, a te szolgálód. Terítsd hát takaródat a te szolgálódra, mert te vagy a legközelebbi rokon.

És monda: Kicsoda vagy te? És az monda: Én Ruth vagyok, a te szolgálód; terjeszszed ki hát takaródat a te szolgálódra, mert te vagy a legközelebbi rokon.

And he said, Who art thou? And she answered, I am Ruth thine handmaid: spread therefore thy skirt over thine handmaid; for thou art a near kinsman.

El a zis: „Cine eşti tu?” Ea a răspuns: „Eu sunt Rut, slujnica ta; întinde-ţi poala hainei peste slujnica ta, căci ai drept de răscumpărare.”

He said, “Who are you?” And she answered, “I am Ruth, your servant. Spread your wings over your servant, for you are a redeemer.”

Ő így válaszolt: Áldjon meg az ÚR téged, édes leányom! Szeretetedet most még jobban megmutattad, mint előbb, mivel nem jártál az ifjak után, sem szegény, sem gazdag után.

És ő monda: Az Úrnak áldotta vagy te, édes leányom! Utóbbi szereteteddel jobbat cselekedtél, mint az elsővel: hogy nem jártál az ifjak után, sem szegény, sem gazdag után.

And he said, Blessed be thou of the LORD, my daughter: for thou hast shewed more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning, inasmuch as thou followedst not young men, whether poor or rich.

Şi el a zis: „Fii binecuvântată de Domnul, fiică! Această faptă de pe urmă mărturiseşte şi mai mult pentru tine decât cea dintâi, că n-ai umblat după tineri, săraci sau bogaţi.

And he said, “May you be blessed by the LORD, my daughter. You have made this last kindness greater than the first in that you have not gone after young men, whether poor or rich.

Ne félj hát, édes leányom! Mindent megteszek neked, amit mondasz. Mert mindenki tudja népem kapujában, hogy derék asszony vagy.

Most hát, édes leányom, ne félj! Mindent, a mit mondasz, megteszek néked; mert tudja az én népemnek egész kapuja, hogy derék asszony vagy.

And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou requirest: for all the city of my people doth know that thou art a virtuous woman.

Acum, fiică, nu te teme, îţi voi face tot ce vei zice, căci toată cetatea ştie că eşti o femeie cinstită.

And now, my daughter, do not fear. I will do for you all that you ask, for all my fellow townsmen know that you are a worthy woman.

Való igaz, hogy közeli rokon vagyok, de van nálam még közelebbi rokon is.

És most: bizony igaz, hogy közel rokon vagyok: de van nálamnál még közelebbi rokon is.

And now it is true that I am thy near kinsman: howbeit there is a kinsman nearer than I.

Este adevărat că am drept de răscumpărare, dar este o altă rudă mai aproape decât mine.

And now it is true that I am a redeemer. Yet there is a redeemer nearer than I.

Ma éjjel aludj itt, s majd reggel, ha ő vállalja a rokoni kötelezettségét, jó, váltson meg téged. Ha pedig nem akar téged megváltani, akkor én váltalak meg. Él az ÚR! Aludj azért itt reggelig.

Ez éjszakán hálj [itt]; s majd reggel, ha az megvált téged, jó: váltson meg; ha pedig nem akar téged megváltani, akkor én váltalak meg. Él az Úr! Feküdj [itt] reggelig.

Tarry this night, and it shall be in the morning, that if he will perform unto thee the part of a kinsman, well; let him do the kinsman's part: but if he will not do the part of a kinsman to thee, then will I do the part of a kinsman to thee, as the LORD liveth: lie down until the morning.

Rămâi în noaptea aceasta aici. Şi mâine, dacă vrea să te răscumpere, bine, să te răscumpere; dar dacă nu-i place să te răscumpere, te voi răscumpăra eu, viu este Domnul! Culcă-te aici până dimineaţă.”

Remain tonight, and in the morning, if he will redeem you, good; let him do it. But if he is not willing to redeem you, then, as the LORD lives, I will redeem you. Lie down until the morning.”

Így hát ott nyugodott az ő lábánál reggelig, és fölkelt oly korán, mielőtt az ember fölismerhetné a másik embert. Boáz ugyanis megparancsolta: Meg ne tudja senki, hogy ez az asszony a szérűn járt.

És feküvék az ő lábainál reggelig, és felkele, mielőtt valaki az ő felebarátját megismerheté, mert mondá: Meg ne tudja senki, hogy ez az asszony a szérűre jött.

And she lay at his feet until the morning: and she rose up before one could know another. And he said, Let it not be known that a woman came into the floor.

Ea a rămas culcată la picioarele lui până dimineaţa şi s-a sculat mai înainte de a se putea cunoaşte unul pe altul. Boaz a zis: „Să nu ştie nimeni că a intrat o femeie în arie!”

So she lay at his feet until the morning, but arose before one could recognize another. And he said, “Let it not be known that the woman came to the threshing floor.”

Majd ezt mondta: Add ide a nagy kendődet, amely rajtad van, és tartsd ide. Ő odatartotta. Boáz pedig hat mérő árpát mért bele, és föladta a hátára, ő pedig bement vele a városba.

És monda: Add ide a nagy kendődet, a mely rajtad van, és tartsd. És ő oda tartotta azt. Boáz pedig mért hat [mérték] árpát, és feladta néki, maga pedig bement a városba.

Also he said, Bring the vail that thou hast upon thee, and hold it. And when she held it, he measured six measures of barley, and laid it on her: and she went into the city.

Şi a adăugat: „Adu mantaua de pe tine şi ţine-o.” Ea a ţinut-o, şi el a măsurat şase măsuri de orz şi le-a pus pe ea. Apoi a intrat în cetate.

And he said, “Bring the garment you are wearing and hold it out.” So she held it, and he measured out six measures of barley and put it on her. Then she went into the city.

Elment az anyósához, aki megkérdezte: Hogy vagy, édes leányom? Erre elbeszélt neki mindent, amit az a férfi cselekedett vele.

És elméne az ő napaasszonyához, és az monda: Hogy vagy édes leányom? És ő elbeszélt néki mindent, a mit cselekedett vele az a férfi.

And when she came to her mother in law, she said, Who art thou, my daughter? And she told her all that the man had done to her.

Rut s-a întors la soacra sa, şi Naomi a zis: „Tu eşti, fiica mea?” Rut i-a istorisit tot ce-i făcuse omul acela.

And when she came to her mother-in-law, she said, “How did you fare, my daughter?” Then she told her all that the man had done for her,

És azt mondta: Ezt a hat mérő árpát adta nekem, így szólván: Ne menj üres kézzel anyósodhoz!

És monda: Ezt a hat [mérték] árpát adá nékem, mert monda: Ne menj üresen a te napadhoz.

And she said, These six measures of barley gave he me; for he said to me, Go not empty unto thy mother in law.

Ea a zis: „Mi-a dat aceste şase măsuri de orz, zicând: „Să nu te întorci cu mâinile goale la soacra ta.”

saying, “These six measures of barley he gave to me, for he said to me, ‘You must not go back empty-handed to your mother-in-law.’”

Naomi így válaszolt: Légy veszteg, leányom, míg megtudod, hogyan dől el a dolog. Mert nem nyugszik az a férfi, amíg véghez nem viszi a dolgot még ma.

És monda [Naómi:] Légy veszteg leányom, míg megtudod, hova dől el a dolog; mert nem nyugszik az a férfiú, míg véghez nem viszi a dolgot még ma.

Then said she, Sit still, my daughter, until thou know how the matter will fall: for the man will not be in rest, until he have finished the thing this day.

Şi Naomi a zis: „Fii liniştită, fiica mea, până vei şti cum se va isprăvi lucrul acesta, căci omul acesta nu va avea odihnă până nu va sfârşi lucrul chiar astăzi.”

She replied, “Wait, my daughter, until you learn how the matter turns out, for the man will not rest but will settle the matter today.”
