Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.

Our necks are under persecution: we labour, and have no rest.

They ravished the women in Zion, and the maids in the cities of Judah.

Au necinstit pe femei în Sion, pe fecioare, în cetăţile lui Iuda.

Women are raped in Zion, young women in the towns of Judah.

Fejedelmeket akasztottak, a vének személyét nem becsülték.

Princes are hanged up by their hand: the faces of elders were not honoured.

Princes are hung up by their hands; no respect is shown to the elders.

They took the young men to grind, and the children fell under the wood.

Young men are compelled to grind at the mill, and boys stagger under loads of wood.

The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.

S-a dus bucuria din inimile noastre, şi jalea a luat locul jocurilor noastre.

The joy of our hearts has ceased; our dancing has been turned to mourning.

Leesett fejünk koszorúja, jaj nékünk, mert vétkeztünk!

Elesett a mi fejünknek koronája, jaj most nékünk mert vétkeztünk!

The crown is fallen from our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!

A căzut cununa de pe capul nostru! Vai de noi, căci am păcătuit!

The crown has fallen from our head; woe to us, for we have sinned!

Ezért lett beteg a szívünk, ezért homályosodott meg a szemünk.

For this our heart is faint; for these things our eyes are dim.

Dacă ne doare inima, dacă ni s-au întunecat ochii,

A Sion hegyéért, mert elpusztult, rókák futkosnak rajta!

Because of the mountain of Zion, which is desolate, the foxes walk upon it.

este din pricină că muntele Sionului este pustiit, din pricină că se plimbă şacalii prin el.

for Mount Zion which lies desolate; jackals prowl over it.

De te, URam, örökké megmaradsz, királyi trónod is nemzedékről nemzedékre!

Te Uram örökké megmaradsz; a te királyi széked nemzedékről nemzedékre!

Thou, O LORD, remainest for ever; thy throne from generation to generation.

Dar Tu, Doamne, împărăţeşti pe vecie; scaunul Tău de domnie dăinuie din neam în neam!

But you, O LORD, reign forever; your throne endures to all generations.

Miért feledkezel el rólunk ilyen soká? Miért hagysz el minket ilyen hosszú időre?

Miért feledkezel el örökre mi rólunk? [miért] hagysz el minket hosszú időre?

Wherefore dost thou forget us for ever, and forsake us so long time?

Pentru ce să ne uiţi pe vecie şi să ne părăseşti pentru multă vreme?

Why do you forget us forever, why do you forsake us for so many days?

Téríts vissza, URam, magadhoz, és visszatérünk, újítsd meg napjainkat, hogy olyanok legyenek, mint régen!

Téríts vissza Uram magadhoz és visszatérünk; újítsd meg a mi napjainkat, mint régen.

Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.

Întoarce-ne la Tine, Doamne, şi ne vom întoarce! Dă-ne iarăşi zile ca cele de odinioară!

Restore us to yourself, O LORD, that we may be restored! Renew our days as of old—

Hacsak nem haragszol oly súlyosan ránk, hogy végképp elvetettél minket.

Mert bizony-bizony megvetettél minket; megharagudtál ránk felettébb!

But thou hast utterly rejected us; thou art very wroth against us.

Să ne fi lepădat Tu de tot oare şi să Te fi mâniat Tu pe noi peste măsură de mult?

unless you have utterly rejected us, and you remain exceedingly angry with us.
