Én vagyok az a férfi, aki nyomorúságot látott az Úr haragjának botja miatt.

Én vagyok az az ember, a ki nyomorúságot látott az ő haragjának vesszeje miatt.

I AM the man that hath seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.

Sötétségben vezérelt és járatott engem, nem világosságban.

He hath led me, and brought me into darkness, but not into light.

Surely against me is he turned; he turneth his hand against me all the day.

My flesh and my skin hath he made old; he hath broken my bones.

He has made my flesh and my skin waste away; he has broken my bones;

He hath builded against me, and compassed me with gall and travail.

He hath set me in dark places, as they that be dead of old.

He hath hedged me about, that I cannot get out: he hath made my chain heavy.

He has walled me about so that I cannot escape; he has made my chains heavy;

Ha kiáltok, és segítségül hívom is, elzárkózik imádságom elől.

Sőt ha kiáltok és segítségül hívom is, nem hallja meg imádságomat.

Also when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer.

Să tot strig şi să tot cer ajutor, căci El tot nu-mi primeşte rugăciunea.

though I call and cry for help, he shuts out my prayer;

Faragott kővel torlaszolta el útjaimat, görbévé tette ösvényeimet.

Elkerítette az én útaimat terméskővel, ösvényeimet elforgatta.

He hath inclosed my ways with hewn stone, he hath made my paths crooked.

Mi-a astupat calea cu pietre cioplite şi mi-a strâmbat cărările.

he has blocked my ways with blocks of stones; he has made my paths crooked.

Olyan hozzám, mint az ólálkodó medve és a lesben álló oroszlán.

Ólálkodó medve ő nékem [és] lesben álló oroszlán.

He was unto me as a bear lying in wait, and as a lion in secret places.

He is a bear lying in wait for me, a lion in hiding;

Letérített útjaimról, darabokra tépett és elpusztított engem!

Útaimat elterelte, és darabokra vagdalt és elpusztított engem!

He hath turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces: he hath made me desolate.

Mi-a abătut căile, şi apoi S-a aruncat pe mine şi m-a pustiit.

he turned aside my steps and tore me to pieces; he has made me desolate;

Kifeszítette íját, és nyilai elé céltáblául állított engem.

He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.

Şi-a încordat arcul şi m-a pus ţintă săgeţii Lui.

he bent his bow and set me as a target for his arrow.

Veséimbe bocsátotta tegzének nyilait.

He hath caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins.

În rinichi mi-a înfipt săgeţile din tolba Lui.

He drove into my kidneys the arrows of his quiver;

Egész népem csúfjává lettem, és gúnydalukká napestig.

I was a derision to all my people; and their song all the day.

Am ajuns de râsul poporului meu şi toată ziua sunt pus în cântece de batjocură de ei.

I have become the laughingstock of all my people, the object of their taunts all day long.

He hath filled me with bitterness, he hath made me drunken with wormwood.

Kaviccsal tördelte ki fogaimat, porba tiport engem.

És kova-kővel tördelte ki fogaimat; porba tiprott engem.

He hath also broken my teeth with gravel stones, he hath covered me with ashes.

Mi-a sfărâmat dinţii cu pietre, m-a acoperit cu cenuşă.

He has made my teeth grind on gravel, and made me cower in ashes;

Elvetted lelkem békességét, elfeledtem a jót.

És kizártad lelkem a békességből; elfeledkeztem a jóról.

And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace: I forgat prosperity.

Mi-ai luat pacea, şi nu mai cunosc fericirea.

my soul is bereft of peace; I have forgotten what happiness is;

Azt gondoltam: Elveszett az erőm és az ÚRba vetett reménységem.

És mondám: Elveszett az én erőm és az én reménységem az Úrban.

And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the LORD:

Şi am zis: „S-a dus puterea mea de viaţă şi nu mai am nicio nădejde în Domnul.” –

so I say, “My endurance has perished; so has my hope from the LORD.”

Emlékezzél nyomorúságomra és bujdosásomra; az ürömre és a méregre!

Emlékezzél meg az én nyomorúságomról és eltapodtatásomról, az ürömről és a méregről!

Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.

Gândeşte-Te la necazul şi suferinţa mea, la pelin şi la otravă!

Remember my affliction and my wanderings, the wormwood and the gall!

Mindig visszaemlékezik és megalázkodik bennem a lelkem.

Vissza-visszaemlékezik, és megalázódik bennem az én lelkem.

My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.

Când îşi aduce aminte sufletul meu de ele, este mâhnit în mine.

My soul continually remembers it and is bowed down within me.

De arra gondolok szívemben, és ezért mégis reménykedem:

Ezt veszem szívemre, azért bízom.

This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.

Iată ce mai gândesc în inima mea şi iată ce mă face să mai trag nădejde:

But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope:

az ÚR kegyelme, hogy még nincsen végünk, mert nem fogy el irgalmassága!

Az Úr kegyelmessége az, hogy még nincsen végünk; mivel nem fogyatkozik el az ő irgalmassága!

It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

bunătăţile Domnului nu s-au sfârşit, îndurările Lui nu sunt la capăt,

The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end;

They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Az ÚR az én örökségem, mondja a lelkem, ezért benne bízom.

Az Úr az én örökségem, mondja az én lelkem, azért benne bízom.

The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

„Domnul este partea mea de moştenire”, zice sufletul meu; de aceea nădăjduiesc în El.

“The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.”

Jó az ÚR azokhoz, akik benne remélnek, a lélekhez, amely keresi őt.

Jó az Úr azoknak, a kik várják őt; a léleknek, a mely keresi őt.

The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

Domnul este bun cu cine nădăjduieşte în El, cu sufletul care-L caută.

The LORD is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.

Jó csöndesen várni az ÚR szabadítására.

It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

Bine este să aştepţi în tăcere ajutorul Domnului.

It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD.

Jó a férfinak, ha igát hordoz ifjúságában.

Jó a férfiúnak, ha igát visel ifjúságában.

It is good for a man that he bear the yoke of his youth.

Este bine pentru om să poarte un jug în tinereţea lui.

Üljön hát egyedül és csöndben, mert az Úr tette rá!

Egyedül ül és hallgat, mert felvette magára.

He sitteth alone and keepeth silence, because he hath borne it upon him.

Să stea singur şi să tacă, pentru că Domnul i l-a pus pe grumaz;

Let him sit alone in silence when it is laid on him;

Hajtsa a porba száját, talán van még reménység!

Porba teszi száját, [mondván:] Talán van [még] reménység?

He putteth his mouth in the dust; if so be there may be hope.

să-şi umple gura cu ţărână şi să nu-şi piardă nădejdea;

let him put his mouth in the dust— there may yet be hope;

Arcát tartsa oda az őt verőnek, teljen be gyalázattal!

Orczáját tartja az őt verőnek, megelégszik gyalázattal.

He giveth his cheek to him that smiteth him: he is filled full with reproach.

să dea obrazul celui ce-l loveşte şi să se sature de ocări.

let him give his cheek to the one who strikes, and let him be filled with insults.

Mert nem vet el örökre az Úr.

Mert nem zár ki örökre az Úr.

For the LORD will not cast off for ever:

Căci Domnul nu leapădă pentru totdeauna.

For the Lord will not cast off forever,

Ha megszomorít is, de együtt is érez kegyelmének gazdagsága szerint.

Sőt, ha megszomorít, meg is vígasztal az ő kegyelmességének gazdagsága szerint.

But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.

Ci, când mâhneşte pe cineva, Se îndură iarăşi de el, după îndurarea Lui cea mare:

for, though he cause grief, he will have compassion according to the abundance of his steadfast love;

Mert nem szíve szerint alázza meg és szomorítja az embernek fiát.

For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.

căci El nu necăjeşte cu plăcere, nici nu mâhneşte bucuros pe copiii oamenilor.

for he does not afflict from his heart or grieve the children of men.

Amikor lábbal tiporják a föld minden foglyát;

Hogy lábai alá tiporja valaki a föld minden foglyát;

To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth.

Când se calcă în picioare toţi prinşii de război ai unei ţări,

To crush underfoot all the prisoners of the earth,

amikor az embert kiforgatják jogaiból a Magasságos színe előtt;

Hogy elfordíttassék az ember ítélete a Magasságosnak színe előtt;

To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High,

când se calcă dreptatea omenească în faţa Celui Preaînalt,

to deny a man justice in the presence of the Most High,

amikor elnyomják az embert peres ügyében: azt nem nézi el az Úr.

Hogy elnyomassék az ember az ő peres dolgában: ezt az Úr nem nézi el.

To subvert a man in his cause, the LORD approveth not.

când este nedreptăţit un om în pricina lui, nu vede Domnul?

to subvert a man in his lawsuit, the Lord does not approve.

Ki az, aki szól, és meglesz, hacsak nem az Úr parancsolja?

Kicsoda az, a ki szól és meglesz, ha nem parancsolja az Úr?

Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?

Cine a spus, şi s-a întâmplat ceva fără porunca Domnului?

Who has spoken and it came to pass, unless the Lord has commanded it?

Vajon nem a Magasságos szájából jön ki a rossz és a jó?

A Magasságosnak szájából nem jő ki a gonosz és a jó.

Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good?

Nu iese din gura Celui Preaînalt răul şi binele?

Is it not from the mouth of the Most High that good and bad come?

Mit panaszkodik az élő ember, a férfi a büntetés miatt?

Mit zúgolódik az élő ember? Ki-ki a maga bűneiért [bűnhődik.]

Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?

De ce să se plângă omul cât trăieşte? Fiecare să se plângă mai bine de păcatele lui!

Why should a living man complain, a man, about the punishment of his sins?

Gondoljuk át útjainkat, vizsgáljuk meg őket, és térjünk az ÚRhoz!

Tudakozzuk a mi útainkat és vizsgáljuk meg, és térjünk az Úrhoz.

Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.

Să luăm seama la umbletele noastre, să le cercetăm şi să ne întoarcem la Domnul.

Let us test and examine our ways, and return to the LORD!

Emeljük föl szívünket és kezünket Istenhez az égben!

Emeljük fel szíveinket kezeinkkel egyetemben Istenhez az égben.

Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.

Să ne înălţăm inimile cu mâinile spre Dumnezeu din cer, zicând:

Let us lift up our hearts and hands to God in heaven:

Mi voltunk gonoszok és pártütők, azért nem bocsátottál meg.

We have transgressed and have rebelled: thou hast not pardoned.

„Am păcătuit, am fost îndărătnici, şi nu ne-ai iertat!

“We have transgressed and rebelled, and you have not forgiven.

Haragba burkolóztál, és üldöztél minket, öldököltél, nem kíméltél.

Felöltötted a haragot és üldöztél minket, öldököltél, nem kiméltél.

Thou hast covered with anger, and persecuted us: thou hast slain, thou hast not pitied.

În mânia Ta, Te-ai ascuns şi ne-ai urmărit, ai ucis fără milă.

“You have wrapped yourself with anger and pursued us, killing without pity;

Felhőbe burkolóztál, hogy ne jusson hozzád az imádság.

Felöltötted a felhőt, hogy hozzád ne jusson az imádság.

Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that our prayer should not pass through.

Te-ai învăluit într-un nor, ca să nu străbată la Tine rugăciunea noastră.

you have wrapped yourself with a cloud so that no prayer can pass through.

Söpredékké és megvetetté tettél minket a népek között.

Sepredékké és útálattá tettél minket a népek között.

Thou hast made us as the offscouring and refuse in the midst of the people.

Ne-ai făcut de batjocură şi de ocară printre popoare.

You have made us scum and garbage among the peoples.

Föltátotta száját ellenünk minden ellenségünk.

Feltátotta száját ellenünk minden ellenségünk.

All our enemies have opened their mouths against us.

Toţi vrăjmaşii noştri deschid gura împotriva noastră.

“All our enemies open their mouths against us;

Rettegés és tőr van rajtunk, pusztulás és romlás.

Fear and a snare is come upon us, desolation and destruction.

De groază şi de groapă am avut parte, de prăpăd şi pustiire.”

panic and pitfall have come upon us, devastation and destruction;

Könny patakzik alá a szememből népem leányának romlása miatt.

Víz-patakok folynak alá az én szememből népem leányának romlása miatt.

Mine eye runneth down with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people.

Şuvoaie de apă îmi curg din ochi din pricina prăpădului fiicei poporului meu.

my eyes flow with rivers of tears because of the destruction of the daughter of my people.

Szemem szünet nélkül könnyezik, nincs pihenése,

Szemem csörgedez és nem szünik meg, nincs pihenése,

Mine eye trickleth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission.

Mi se topeşte ochiul în lacrimi, necurmat şi fără răgaz,

“My eyes will flow without ceasing, without respite,

Till the LORD look down, and behold from heaven.

Mine eye affecteth mine heart because of all the daughters of my city.

my eyes cause me grief at the fate of all the daughters of my city.

Ellenségeim úgy vadásztak rám, mint egy madárra, ok nélkül.

Mine enemies chased me sore, like a bird, without cause.

Cei ce mă urăsc fără temei m-au gonit ca pe o pasăre.

“I have been hunted like a bird by those who were my enemies without cause;

Élve a verembe taszítottak engem, és követ hánytak rám.

Veremben fojtották meg életemet, és követ hánytak rám.

They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and cast a stone upon me.

Voiau să-mi nimicească viaţa într-o groapă şi au aruncat cu pietre în mine.

they flung me alive into the pit and cast stones on me;

Túláradtak a vizek a fejem fölött, azt gondoltam, végem van.

Felüláradtak a vizek az én fejem felett; mondám: Kivágattam!

Waters flowed over mine head; then I said, I am cut off.

Mi-au năvălit apele peste cap, şi ziceam: „Sunt pierdut!”

water closed over my head; I said, ‘I am lost.’

Segítségül hívtam nevedet, URam, a verem legmélyéről.

Segítségül hívtam a te nevedet, oh Uram, a legalsó veremből.

I called upon thy name, O LORD, out of the low dungeon.

Dar am chemat Numele Tău, Doamne, din fundul gropii.

“I called on your name, O LORD, from the depths of the pit;

Hallottad szavamat, ne rejtsd el füledet sóhajtásom és kiáltásom elől!

Hallottad az én szómat; ne rejtsd el füledet sóhajtásom és kiáltásom elől.

Thou hast heard my voice: hide not thine ear at my breathing, at my cry.

Tu mi-ai auzit glasul: „Nu-Ţi astupa urechea la suspinele şi strigătele mele.”

you heard my plea, ‘Do not close your ear to my cry for help!’

Közeledtél hozzám, amikor segítségül hívtalak, azt mondtad: Ne félj!

Közelegj hozzám, mikor segítségül hívlak téged; mondd: Ne félj!

Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee: thou saidst, Fear not.

În ziua când Te-am chemat, Te-ai apropiat şi ai zis: „Nu te teme!”

You came near when I called on you; you said, ‘Do not fear!’

Te perelted, Uram, lelkem perét, és megszabadítottad életemet.

Pereld meg Uram lelkemnek perét; váltsd meg életemet.

O LORD, thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life.

Doamne, Tu ai apărat pricina sufletului meu, mi-ai răscumpărat viaţa!

“You have taken up my cause, O Lord; you have redeemed my life.

Láttad, URam, hogy bántalmaznak, ítéld meg ügyemet!

Láttad, oh Uram, az én bántalmaztatásomat; ítéld meg ügyemet.

O LORD, thou hast seen my wrong: judge thou my cause.

Doamne, ai văzut apăsarea mea: fă-mi dreptate.

You have seen the wrong done to me, O LORD; judge my cause.

Láttad minden bosszúállásukat, minden ellenem való gondolatukat.

Thou hast seen all their vengeance and all their imaginations against me.

Ai văzut toate răzbunările lor, toate uneltirile lor împotriva mea.

You have seen all their vengeance, all their plots against me.

Hallottad, URam, szidalmazásukat, minden ellenem való gondolatukat.

Hallottad Uram az ő szidalmazásukat, minden ellenem való gondolatjokat;

Thou hast heard their reproach, O LORD, and all their imaginations against me;

Doamne, le-ai auzit ocările, toate uneltirile împotriva mea,

“You have heard their taunts, O LORD, all their plots against me.

Támadóim ajka és gondolata egész nap ellenem irányul.

Az ellenem támadóknak ajkait, és ellenem való mindennapi szándékukat.

The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day.

cuvântările potrivnicilor mei şi planurile pe care le urzeau în fiecare zi împotriva mea.

The lips and thoughts of my assailants are against me all the day long.

Nézz rájuk: akár leülnek, akár fölkelnek, engem gúnyolnak!

Tekintsd meg leülésöket és felkelésöket; én vagyok az ő gúnydaluk.

Behold their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their musick.

Uită-Te când stau ei jos sau când se scoală. Eu sunt cântecul lor de batjocură.

Behold their sitting and their rising; I am the object of their taunts.

Fizess meg nekik, URam, kezük munkájáért!

Fizess meg nékik, Uram, az ő kezeiknek munkája szerint.

Render unto them a recompence, O LORD, according to the work of their hands.

Răsplăteşte-le, Doamne, după faptele mâinilor lor!

“You will repay them, O LORD, according to the work of their hands.

Adj nekik kemény szívet, ez legyen átkod rajtuk!

Adj nékik szívbeli konokságot; átkodul reájok.

Give them sorrow of heart, thy curse unto them.

Împietreşte-le inima şi aruncă blestemul Tău împotriva lor!

You will give them dullness of heart; your curse will be on them.

Üldözd haragodban és veszítsd el őket az ÚR ege alól!

Üldözd haragodban, és veszesd el őket az Úr ege alól!

Persecute and destroy them in anger from under the heavens of the LORD.

Urmăreşte-i în mânia Ta şi şterge-i de sub ceruri, Doamne!”

You will pursue them in anger and destroy them from under your heavens, O LORD.”
