How hath the LORD covered the daughter of Zion with a cloud in his anger, and cast down from heaven unto the earth the beauty of Israel, and remembered not his footstool in the day of his anger!

How the Lord in his anger has set the daughter of Zion under a cloud! He has cast down from heaven to earth the splendor of Israel; he has not remembered his footstool in the day of his anger.

Elnyelte az Úr, nem kímélte Jákób összes hajlékát, ledöntötte haragjában Júda leányának erődítményeit. Földre terítette, megszégyenítette az országot és fejedelmeit.

The LORD hath swallowed up all the habitations of Jacob, and hath not pitied: he hath thrown down in his wrath the strong holds of the daughter of Judah; he hath brought them down to the ground: he hath polluted the kingdom and the princes thereof.

Domnul a nimicit fără milă toate locuinţele lui Iacov. În urgia Lui a dărâmat întăriturile fiicei lui Iuda şi le-a prăvălit la pământ; a făcut de ocară împărăţia şi căpeteniile ei.

The Lord has swallowed up without mercy all the habitations of Jacob; in his wrath he has broken down the strongholds of the daughter of Judah; he has brought down to the ground in dishonor the kingdom and its rulers.

Fölgerjedt haragjában letörte Izráel minden szarvát. Visszavonta jobbját az ellenség előtt, mint lángoló tűz égette Jákóbot, emésztette körös-körül.

He hath cut off in his fierce anger all the horn of Israel: he hath drawn back his right hand from before the enemy, and he burned against Jacob like a flaming fire, which devoureth round about.

He has cut down in fierce anger all the might of Israel; he has withdrawn from them his right hand in the face of the enemy; he has burned like a flaming fire in Jacob, consuming all around.

Kifeszítette íját, mint az ellenség, kinyújtotta jobbját, mint egy támadó, és megölt vele mindent, ami a szemnek kívánatos. Sion leányának sátrára tűzként zúdította izzó haragját.

Olyan volt az Úr, mint az ellenség. Elnyelte Izráelt, elnyelte minden palotáját, lerombolta erődítményeit, és megsokasította Júda leányának bújátbaját.

The LORD was as an enemy: he hath swallowed up Israel, he hath swallowed up all her palaces: he hath destroyed his strong holds, and hath increased in the daughter of Judah mourning and lamentation.

Földúlta sátrát, mint egy kertet, lerombolta gyülekezési helyét. Elfelejtette az ÚR Sionnal ünnepeit és a szombatot, és haragja hevében megutált királyt és papot.

And he hath violently taken away his tabernacle, as if it were of a garden: he hath destroyed his places of the assembly: the LORD hath caused the solemn feasts and sabbaths to be forgotten in Zion, and hath despised in the indignation of his anger the king and the priest.

The LORD hath cast off his altar, he hath abhorred his sanctuary, he hath given up into the hand of the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have made a noise in the house of the LORD, as in the day of a solemn feast.

Domnul Şi-a dispreţuit altarul, Şi-a lepădat Locaşul Său cel Sfânt. A dat în mâinile vrăjmaşului zidurile palatelor Sionului; au răsunat strigătele în Casa Domnului ca într-o zi de sărbătoare.

The Lord has scorned his altar, disowned his sanctuary; he has delivered into the hand of the enemy the walls of her palaces; they raised a clamor in the house of the LORD as on the day of festival.

Az ÚR elhatározta, hogy lerontja Sion leányának kőfalát; mérőzsinórt feszített ki, nem vonta vissza kezét a pusztítástól, és gyászol a bástya és a kőfal, együtt roskadoznak!

The LORD hath purposed to destroy the wall of the daughter of Zion: he hath stretched out a line, he hath not withdrawn his hand from destroying: therefore he made the rampart and the wall to lament; they languished together.

The LORD determined to lay in ruins the wall of the daughter of Zion; he stretched out the measuring line; he did not restrain his hand from destroying; he caused rampart and wall to lament; they languished together.

Földbe süllyedtek kapui, elvesztette és összetörte annak zárait. Királya és fejedelmei a népek között vannak, nincs többé törvény, sőt prófétái sem nyernek kijelentést az ÚRtól.

Her gates are sunk into the ground; he hath destroyed and broken her bars: her king and her princes are among the Gentiles: the law is no more; her prophets also find no vision from the LORD.

Elsorvadt a szemem a könnyhullatástól, bensőm háborog, földre omlik népem leányának romlása miatt. Mert elalélnak a kisgyermekek és a csecsemők a város terein.

Mine eyes do fail with tears, my bowels are troubled, my liver is poured upon the earth, for the destruction of the daughter of my people; because the children and the sucklings swoon in the streets of the city.

My eyes are spent with weeping; my stomach churns; my bile is poured out to the ground because of the destruction of the daughter of my people, because infants and babies faint in the streets of the city.

They say to their mothers, Where is corn and wine? when they swooned as the wounded in the streets of the city, when their soul was poured out into their mothers' bosom.

They cry to their mothers, “Where is bread and wine?” as they faint like a wounded man in the streets of the city, as their life is poured out on their mothers’ bosom.

Tanúságul mit hozzak föl melletted, mihez hasonlítsalak, Jeruzsálem leánya? Kivel mérjelek össze, hogy megvigasztaljalak, Sion szűz leánya? Bizony, romlásod nagy, mint a tenger, kicsoda gyógyít meg téged?

What thing shall I take to witness for thee? what thing shall I liken to thee, O daughter of Jerusalem? what shall I equal to thee, that I may comfort thee, O virgin daughter of Zion? for thy breach is great like the sea: who can heal thee?

„Cu ce să te îmbărbătez şi cu ce să te asemăn, fiica Ierusalimului? Cu cine să te pun alături şi cu ce să te mângâi, fecioară, fiica Sionului? Căci rana ta este mare ca marea: cine va putea să te vindece?

What can I say for you, to what compare you, O daughter of Jerusalem? What can I liken to you, that I may comfort you, O virgin daughter of Zion? For your ruin is vast as the sea; who can heal you?

Prófétáid hamis és megtévesztő látomásokkal tévesztettek meg téged, és nem leplezték le álnokságodat, hogy jóra fordult volna sorsod, hanem hamis és félrevezető látomásokról prófétáltak neked.

A te prófétáid hazugságot és bolondságot hirdettek néked, és nem fedték fel a te álnokságodat, hogy elfordították volna fogságodat; hanem láttak tenéked hazug és megtévelyítő prófétálásokat.

Thy prophets have seen vain and foolish things for thee: and they have not discovered thine iniquity, to turn away thy captivity; but have seen for thee false burdens and causes of banishment.

Your prophets have seen for you false and deceptive visions; they have not exposed your iniquity to restore your fortunes, but have seen for you oracles that are false and misleading.

Összecsapja kezét miattad minden arra járó, fölszisszennek, és fejüket csóválják Jeruzsálem leánya fölött. Vajon ez az a város, amelyről azt mondták: „Tökéletes szépség, az egész föld öröme”?

All that pass by clap their hands at thee; they hiss and wag their head at the daughter of Jerusalem, saying, Is this the city that men call The perfection of beauty, The joy of the whole earth?

All who pass along the way clap their hands at you; they hiss and wag their heads at the daughter of Jerusalem: “Is this the city that was called the perfection of beauty, the joy of all the earth?”

Föltátotta száját ellened minden ellenséged, fölszisszennek, és fogukat csikorgatják. Azt mondják: Elnyeltük őt! Bizony ez az a nap, amelyet vártunk; megértük, megláttuk!

All thine enemies have opened their mouth against thee: they hiss and gnash the teeth: they say, We have swallowed her up: certainly this is the day that we looked for; we have found, we have seen it.

Toţi vrăjmaşii tăi deschid gura împotriva ta, fluieră, scrâşnesc din dinţi şi zic: „Am înghiţit-o! Da, aceasta este ziua pe care o aşteptam, am ajuns-o şi o vedem!”

All your enemies rail against you; they hiss, they gnash their teeth, they cry: “We have swallowed her! Ah, this is the day we longed for; now we have it; we see it!”

Megcselekedte az ÚR, amit kigondolt, beváltotta szavát, amelyet megmondott és kezdettől fogva elrendelt. Rombolt, és nem kímélt, megvidámította rajtad az ellenséget, fölemelte szorongatóid szarvát.

Megcselekedte az Úr, a miket gondolt; beváltotta szavát, a melyet szólt eleitől fogva; rombolt és nem kimélt, és megvidámította rajtad az ellenséget, felemelte szarvát a te szorongatóidnak.

The LORD hath done that which he had devised; he hath fulfilled his word that he had commanded in the days of old: he hath thrown down, and hath not pitied: and he hath caused thine enemy to rejoice over thee, he hath set up the horn of thine adversaries.

Domnul a înfăptuit ce hotărâse, a împlinit cuvântul pe care-l sorocise de multă vreme, a nimicit fără milă; a făcut din tine bucuria vrăjmaşului, a înălţat tăria asupritorilor tăi!

The LORD has done what he purposed; he has carried out his word, which he commanded long ago; he has thrown down without pity; he has made the enemy rejoice over you and exalted the might of your foes.

Szívük az Úrhoz kiáltott. Ó, Sion leányának kőfala! Folyjon alá könnyed, mint a patak, éjjel és nappal, ne engedj magadnak nyugalmat, síró szemed ne pihenjen!

Kiáltott az ő szívök az Úrhoz: Oh Sion leányának kőfala! Folyjon alá könnyed mint a patak, éjjel és nappal; ne szakadjon félbe, síró szemed meg se pihenjen.

Their heart cried unto the LORD, O wall of the daughter of Zion, let tears run down like a river day and night: give thyself no rest; let not the apple of thine eye cease.

Inima lor strigă către Domnul… Zid al fiicei Sionului, varsă zi şi noapte şiroaie de lacrimi! Nu-ţi da niciun răgaz, şi ochiul tău să n-aibă odihnă!

Their heart cried to the Lord. O wall of the daughter of Zion, let tears stream down like a torrent day and night! Give yourself no rest, your eyes no respite!

Kelj föl, jajgass éjjel, az őrjárások kezdetén! Öntsd ki szívedet, mint a vizet az Úr színe előtt! Emeld föl hozzá a kezedet kicsinyeidnek életéért, akik elaléltak az éhség miatt minden utcasarkon.

Kelj fel, riadj éjjel, az őrjárások kezdetén; öntsd ki, mint a vizet a te szívedet az Úr szine előtt; emeld fel hozzá kezeidet a te kisdedeidnek életéért, a kik elaléltak az éhség miatt minden utczának szegletén.

Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out thine heart like water before the face of the LORD: lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger in the top of every street.

Scoală-te şi gemi noaptea când încep străjile! Varsă-ţi inima ca nişte apă înaintea Domnului! Ridică-ţi mâinile spre El pentru viaţa copiilor tăi care mor de foame la toate colţurile uliţelor! –

“Arise, cry out in the night, at the beginning of the night watches! Pour out your heart like water before the presence of the Lord! Lift your hands to him for the lives of your children, who faint for hunger at the head of every street.”

Lásd meg, URam, és tekints arra, akivel így cselekedtél! Miért kellene megenniük az asszonyoknak méhük gyümölcsét, dédelgetett kisdedeiket? Miért ölnék meg az Úr szentélyében a papokat és a prófétákat?

Lásd meg Uram és tekintsd meg, kivel cselekedtél így! Avagy megegyék-é az asszonyok az ő méhöknek gyümölcsét, dédelgetett kisdedeiket; avagy megölettessék-é az Úrnak szent helyén pap és próféta?

Behold, O LORD, and consider to whom thou hast done this. Shall the women eat their fruit, and children of a span long? shall the priest and the prophet be slain in the sanctuary of the Lord?

Uită-Te, Doamne, şi priveşte: cui i-ai făcut Tu aşa? Să mănânce femeile rodul pântecelui lor, pruncii dezmierdaţi de mâinile lor? Să fie măcelăriţi preoţii şi prorocii în Locaşul cel Sfânt al Domnului?

Look, O LORD, and see! With whom have you dealt thus? Should women eat the fruit of their womb, the children of their tender care? Should priest and prophet be killed in the sanctuary of the Lord?

Az utcákon a földön fekszik gyermek és vén, hajadon leányaim és ifjaim fegyver miatt hullottak el. Öldököltél haragod napján, mészároltál, nem kíméltél senkit.

The young and the old lie on the ground in the streets: my virgins and my young men are fallen by the sword; thou hast slain them in the day of thine anger; thou hast killed, and not pitied.

Copiii şi bătrânii stau culcaţi pe pământ în uliţe; fecioarele şi tinerii mei au căzut ucişi de sabie; i-ai ucis în ziua mâniei Tale şi i-ai înjunghiat fără milă.

In the dust of the streets lie the young and the old; my young women and my young men have fallen by the sword; you have killed them in the day of your anger, slaughtering without pity.

Egybehívtad mindenfelől, mint valami ünnepnapra, azokat, akiktől rettegtem, és nem volt senki, aki az ÚR haragjának napján elmenekült és megszabadult volna. Ellenségem végzett azokkal, akiket dédelgettem és fölneveltem!

Egybehívtad mint valami ünnepnapra az én rettegtetőimet mindenfelől, és nem volt az Úr haragjának napján, a ki elmenekült és megszabadult volna. A kiket dédelgettem és felneveltem, ellenségem emésztette meg őket!

Thou hast called as in a solemn day my terrors round about, so that in the day of the LORD's anger none escaped nor remained: those that I have swaddled and brought up hath mine enemy consumed.

Ai chemat groaza din toate părţile peste mine, ca la o zi de sărbătoare. În ziua mâniei Domnului n-a scăpat unul şi n-a rămas cu viaţă. Pe cei îngrijiţi şi crescuţi de mine, mi i-a nimicit vrăjmaşul! –

You summoned as if to a festival day my terrors on every side, and on the day of the anger of the LORD no one escaped or survived; those whom I held and raised my enemy destroyed.
