Testvéreim, a mi dicsőséges Urunkba, a Jézus Krisztusba vetett hitetek ne legyen személyválogató.

Atyámfiai ne legyen személyválogatás a ti hitetekben, a mely van a dicsőség Urában, a mi Jézus Krisztusunkban.

My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.

Fraţii mei, să nu ţineţi credinţa Domnului nostru Isus Hristos, Domnul slavei, căutând la faţa omului.

My brothers, show no partiality as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory.

Mert ha bemegy hozzátok a gyülekezetbe egy aranygyűrűs férfi fényes öltözékben, és bemegy egy szegény is piszkos ruhában,

Mert ha a ti gyülekezetetekbe bemegy egy aranygyűrűs férfiú fényes ruhában, bemegy pedig egy szegény is szennyes ruhában;

For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;

Căci, de pildă, dacă intră în adunarea voastră un om cu un inel de aur şi cu o haină strălucitoare, şi intră şi un sărac îmbrăcat prost;

For if a man wearing a gold ring and fine clothing comes into your assembly, and a poor man in shabby clothing also comes in,

rátekintetek arra, aki fényes öltözéket visel, és azt mondjátok neki: „Te ülj ide szépen”, és a szegénynek ezt mondjátok: „Te állj ott, vagy ülj ide a zsámolyom mellé”,

És rátekinttek arra, a kin a fényes ruha van, és azt mondjátok néki: Te ülj ide szépen; és a szegénynek ezt mondjátok: Te állj ott, vagy ülj ide az én zsámolyom mellé:

And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:

şi voi puneţi ochii pe cel ce poartă haina strălucitoare şi-i ziceţi: „Tu şezi în locul acesta bun!”, şi apoi ziceţi săracului: „Tu stai acolo în picioare!” sau: „Şezi jos la picioarele mele!”

and if you pay attention to the one who wears the fine clothing and say, “You sit here in a good place,” while you say to the poor man, “You stand over there,” or, “Sit down at my feet,”

nem kerültetek-e ellentmondásba magatokkal, és nem lettetek-e gonosz gondolkozású bírákká?

Nem mondtatok-é ellent magatoknak, és nem lettetek-é gonosz gondolkozású birákká?

Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?

Nu faceţi voi oare o deosebire în voi înşivă şi nu vă faceţi voi judecători cu gânduri rele?

have you not then made distinctions among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?

Halljátok meg, szeretett testvéreim: nemde Isten választotta ki a világ szegényeit, hogy gazdagok legyenek a hitben, és örökösei az országnak, amelyet azoknak ígért, akik őt szeretik?

Halljátok meg szeretett atyámfiai, avagy nem az Isten választotta-é ki e világ szegényeit, hogy gazdagok legyenek hitben, és örökösei az országnak, a melyet azoknak ígért, a kik őt szeretik?

Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?

Ascultaţi, preaiubiţii mei fraţi: n-a ales Dumnezeu pe cei ce sunt săraci în ochii lumii acesteia, ca să-i facă bogaţi în credinţă şi moştenitori ai Împărăţiei pe care a făgăduit-o celor ce-L iubesc?

Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which he has promised to those who love him?

Ti pedig megszégyenítettétek a szegényt. Nemde a gazdagok hatalmaskodnak rajtatok, és nem ők hurcolnak-e titeket a törvény elé?

Ti pedig meggyaláztátok a szegényt. Avagy nem a gazdagok hatalmaskodnak- é rajtatok, és nem ők hurczolnak-é titeket a törvény elé?

But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?

Şi voi înjosiţi pe cel sărac! Oare nu bogaţii vă asupresc şi vă târăsc înaintea judecătoriilor?

But you have dishonored the poor man. Are not the rich the ones who oppress you, and the ones who drag you into court?

Nemde ők káromolják azt a szép nevet, amelyről neveztettek?

Nem ők káromolják-é azt a szép nevet, a melyről neveztettek?

Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?

Nu batjocoresc ei frumosul nume pe care-l purtaţi?

Are they not the ones who blaspheme the honorable name by which you were called?

Ha ellenben megtartjátok a királyi törvényt az Írás szerint: „Szeresd felebarátodat, mint önmagadat”, helyesen cselekedtek.

Ha ellenben megtartjátok a királyi törvényt az Írás szerint: Szeressed felebarátodat, mint tenmagadat, jól cselekesztek.

If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:

Dacă împliniţi Legea împărătească, potrivit Scripturii: „Să iubeşti pe aproapele tău ca pe tine însuţi”, bine faceţi.

If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well.

De ha személyválogatók vagytok, vétkeztek, és a törvény elmarasztal titeket mint törvényszegőket.

De ha személyválogatók vagytok, vétkeztek, elmarasztaltatva a törvény által, mint annak megrontói.

But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.

Dar, dacă aveţi în vedere faţa omului, faceţi un păcat şi sunteţi osândiţi de Lege ca nişte călcători de Lege.

But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors.

Mert ha valaki az egész törvényt megtartja is, de vét egy ellen, az egészre nézve vétkessé lesz.

Mert ha valaki az egész törvényt megtartja is, de vét egy ellen, az egésznek megrontásában bűnös.

For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

Căci, cine păzeşte toată Legea, şi greşeşte într-o singură poruncă, se face vinovat de toate.

For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become guilty of all of it.

Mert aki ezt mondta: „Ne paráználkodj!”, ezt is mondta: „Ne ölj!” És ha nem paráználkodsz, de ölsz, törvényszegővé lettél.

Mert a ki ezt mondotta: Ne paráználkodjál, ezt is mondotta: Ne ölj. És ha nem paráználkodol, de ölsz, törvényszegővé lettél.

For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.

Căci, Cel ce a zis: „Să nu preacurveşti”, a zis şi: „Să nu ucizi”. Acum, dacă nu preacurveşti, dar ucizi, te faci călcător al Legii.

For he who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” If you do not commit adultery but do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.

Úgy szóljatok, és úgy cselekedjetek, mint akiket a szabadság törvénye fog megítélni.

Úgy szóljatok és úgy cselekedjetek, mint a kiket a szabadság törvénye fog megítélni.

So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

Să vorbiţi şi să lucraţi ca nişte oameni care au să fie judecaţi de o lege a slobozeniei,

So speak and so act as those who are to be judged under the law of liberty.

Mert az ítélet irgalmatlan az iránt, aki nem cselekszik irgalmasságot, az irgalmasság viszont diadalmaskodik az ítélet fölött.

Mert az ítélet irgalmatlan az iránt, a ki nem cselekszik irgalmasságot; és dicsekedik az irgalmasság az ítélet ellen.

For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.

căci judecata este fără milă pentru cel ce n-a avut milă, dar mila biruie judecata.

For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

Testvéreim, mit használ, ha valaki azt mondja, hogy van hite, cselekedetei pedig nincsenek? Vajon megtarthatja-e őt a hite?

Mi a haszna, atyámfiai, ha valaki azt mondja, hogy hite van, cselekedetei pedig nincsenek? Avagy megtarthatja-é őt a hit?

What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

Fraţii mei, ce-i foloseşte cuiva să spună că are credinţă, dacă n-are fapte? Poate oare credinţa aceasta să-l mântuiască?

What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him?

Ha pedig egy férfi- vagy nőtestvérnek nincs rendes ruhája, és nincs meg a mindennapi eledele,

Ha pedig az atyafiak, férfiak vagy nők, mezítelenek, és szűkölködnek mindennapi eledel nélkül,

If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,

Dacă un frate sau o soră sunt goi şi lipsiţi de hrana de toate zilele,

If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food,

és közületek valaki ezt mondja nekik: „Menjetek el békességgel, melegedjetek meg, és lakjatok jól”, de nem adjátok meg nekik, amire szüksége van a testnek, mit használ az?

És azt mondja nékik valaki ti közületek: Menjetek el békességgel, melegedjetek meg és lakjatok jól; de nem adjátok meg nékik, a mikre szüksége van a testnek; mi annak a haszna?

And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?

şi unul dintre voi le zice: „Duceţi-vă în pace, încălziţi-vă şi săturaţi-vă!”, fără să le dea cele trebuincioase trupului, la ce i-ar folosi?

and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that?

Így a hit is, ha nincsenek cselekedetei, halott önmagában.

Azonképen a hit is, ha cselekedetei nincsenek, megholt ő magában.

Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

Tot aşa şi credinţa: dacă n-are fapte, este moartă în ea însăşi.

So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

De mondhatja valaki: Neked hited van, nekem pedig cselekedeteim vannak. Mutasd meg nekem a te cselekedetek nélküli hitedet, én pedig megmutatom neked az én cselekedeteimből a hitemet.

De mondhatja valaki: Néked hited van, nékem pedig cselekedeteim vannak. Mutasd meg nékem a te hitedet a te cselekedeteidből, és én meg fogom néked mutatni az én cselekedeteimből az én hitemet.

Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

Dar va zice cineva: „Tu ai credinţa, şi eu am faptele. Arată-mi credinţa ta fără fapte, şi eu îţi voi arăta credinţa mea din faptele mele.”

But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.

Te hiszed, hogy egy az Isten. Jól teszed. Az ördögök is hiszik, és rettegnek.

Te hiszed, hogy az Isten egy. Jól teszed. Az ördögök is hiszik, és rettegnek.

Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

Tu crezi că Dumnezeu este unul şi bine faci; dar şi dracii cred… şi se înfioară!

You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!

Akarod-e pedig tudni, te hiábavaló ember, hogy a hit cselekedetek nélkül hasznavehetetlen?

Akarod-é pedig tudni, te hiábavaló ember, hogy a hit cselekedetek nélkül megholt?

But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

Vrei, dar, să înţelegi, om nesocotit, că credinţa fără fapte este zadarnică?

Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless?

Ábrahám, a mi atyánk, nem cselekedetekből igazult meg, amikor fiát, Izsákot felvitte az oltárra?

[Avagy] Ábrahám, a mi atyánk, nem cselekedetekből igazíttatott-é meg, felvivén Izsákot, az ő fiát az oltárra?

Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?

Avraam, părintele nostru, n-a fost el socotit neprihănit prin fapte, când a adus pe fiul său Isaac jertfă pe altar?

Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar?

Látod, hogy hite együtt munkálkodott a cselekedeteivel, és a cselekedetekből lett teljessé a hit.

Látod, hogy a hit együtt munkálkodott az ő cselekedeteivel, és a cselekedetekből lett teljessé a hit;

Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?

Vezi că credinţa lucra împreună cu faptele lui, şi, prin fapte, credinţa a ajuns desăvârşită.

You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by his works;

És beteljesedett az Írás, amely ezt mondja: Hitt pedig Ábrahám Istennek, és tulajdoníttatott az neki igazságul, és Isten barátjának neveztetett.

És beteljesedett az Írás, a mely ezt mondja: Hitt pedig Ábrahám az Istennek, és tulajdoníttatott néki igazságul, és Isten barátjának neveztetett.

And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.

Astfel s-a împlinit Scriptura care zice: „Avraam a crezut pe Dumnezeu, şi i s-a socotit ca neprihănire”; şi el a fost numit „prietenul lui Dumnezeu.”

and the Scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”—and he was called a friend of God.

Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

Vedeţi, dar, că omul este socotit neprihănit prin fapte, şi nu numai prin credinţă.

You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.

Ugyanígy a parázna Ráháb is vajon nem cselekedetekből igazíttatott-e meg, amikor a követeket a házába fogadta, és más úton bocsátotta el őket?

Hasonlatosképen pedig a tisztátalan Ráháb is, avagy nem cselekedetekből igazíttatott é meg, a mikor a követeket házába fogadta, és más úton bocsátotta ki?

Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?

Tot aşa, curva Rahav: n-a fost socotită şi ea neprihănită prin fapte, când a găzduit pe soli şi i-a scos afară pe altă cale?

And in the same way was not also Rahab the prostitute justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way?

Mert amint halott a test lélek nélkül, úgy halott a hit is cselekedetek nélkül.

Mert a miképen holt a test lélek nélkül, akképen holt a hit is cselekedetek nélkül.

For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

După cum trupul fără duh este mort, tot aşa şi credinţa fără fapte este moartă.

For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.
