Mindezek végeztével eljöttek hozzám a főemberek, és azt mondták: Izráel népe, sőt a papok és a léviták sem különültek el e föld népeitől, a kánaániak, hettiták, perizziek, jebúsziak, ammóniak, móábiak, egyiptomiak és emóriak utálatosságaitól.

Minekutána ezek elvégeződének, jövének hozzám a főemberek, mondván: Izráel népe és a papok és a Léviták nem különíték el magokat e tartományok népeitől, a miképen pedig azoknak, a Kananeusoknak, Hitteusoknak, Perizeusoknak, Jebuzeusoknak, Ammonitáknak, Moábitáknak, Égyiptomiaknak és Emoreusoknak útálatos [vétke] szerint [el kellett volna,]

Now when these things were done, the princes came to me, saying, The people of Israel, and the priests, and the Levites, have not separated themselves from the people of the lands, doing according to their abominations, even of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites.

După ce s-a sfârşit lucrul acesta, căpeteniile s-au apropiat de mine şi au zis: „Poporul lui Israel, preoţii şi leviţii nu s-au despărţit de popoarele acestor ţări şi au făcut urâciunile lor, ale canaaniţilor, hetiţilor, fereziţilor, iebusiţilor, amoniţilor, moabiţilor, egiptenilor şi amoriţilor.

After these things had been done, the officials approached me and said, “The people of Israel and the priests and the Levites have not separated themselves from the peoples of the lands with their abominations, from the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites.

Mert az ő leányaik közül vettek feleséget maguknak és fiaiknak, és összekeveredett a szent mag e föld népeivel. Ráadásul a fejedelmek és a főemberek elsők voltak ebben a bűnben.

Mert [ezek] leányai közül vettek vala [feleséget] magoknak és fiaiknak, és megelegyedett a szent mag e tartományok népeivel; és pedig a fejedelmek és főemberek valának elsők e bűnben.

For they have taken of their daughters for themselves, and for their sons: so that the holy seed have mingled themselves with the people of those lands: yea, the hand of the princes and rulers hath been chief in this trespass.

Căci şi-au luat neveste din fetele lor pentru ei şi pentru fiii lor, şi au amestecat neamul sfânt cu popoarele ţărilor acestora. Şi căpeteniile şi dregătorii au fost cei dintâi care au săvârşit păcatul acesta.”

For they have taken some of their daughters to be wives for themselves and for their sons, so that the holy race has mixed itself with the peoples of the lands. And in this faithlessness the hand of the officials and chief men has been foremost.”

Mihelyt meghallottam ezt a dolgot, megszaggattam ruhámat és köntösömet, tépni kezdtem hajamat és szakállamat, és magamba roskadva ültem.

Mihelyt e dolgot meghallottam, megszaggatám alsó- és felső ruhámat, s téptem fejem hajszálait és szakállamat, és veszteg ültem.

And when I heard this thing, I rent my garment and my mantle, and plucked off the hair of my head and of my beard, and sat down astonied.

Când am auzit lucrul acesta, mi-am sfâşiat hainele şi mantaua, mi-am smuls părul din cap şi perii din barbă şi am stat jos mâhnit.

As soon as I heard this, I tore my garment and my cloak and pulled hair from my head and beard and sat appalled.

Akkor hozzám gyűltek mindazok, akik reszketve gondoltak Izráel Istenének szavaira azok vétke miatt, akik a fogságból megjöttek. Én pedig magamba roskadva ültem egészen az esti áldozatig.

És hozzám gyűlének mindnyájan, a kik reszketve [gondoltak] Izráel Istenének beszédeire azoknak vétke miatt, a kik a fogságból megjöttek vala; és én veszteg ülök vala mind az estvéli áldozatig.

Then were assembled unto me every one that trembled at the words of the God of Israel, because of the transgression of those that had been carried away; and I sat astonied until the evening sacrifice.

Atunci s-au strâns la mine toţi cei ce se temeau de cuvintele Dumnezeului lui Israel, din pricina păcatului fiilor robiei. Şi eu am stat jos, mâhnit, până la jertfa de seară.

Then all who trembled at the words of the God of Israel, because of the faithlessness of the returned exiles, gathered around me while I sat appalled until the evening sacrifice.

Az esti áldozatkor pedig fölkeltem lesújtottságomból megszaggatott ruhámban és köntösömben, térdre estem, és kiterjesztettem kezemet az ÚR, az én Istenem felé.

Az estvéli áldozatkor pedig felkeltem sanyargatásomból, megszaggatván alsó- és felső ruhámat; és térdeimre esvén, kiterjesztém kezeimet az Úrhoz, az én Istenemhez.

And at the evening sacrifice I arose up from my heaviness; and having rent my garment and my mantle, I fell upon my knees, and spread out my hands unto the LORD my God,

Apoi, în clipa jertfei de seară, m-am sculat din smerirea mea, cu hainele şi mantaua sfâşiate, am căzut în genunchi, am întins mâinile spre Domnul Dumnezeul meu şi am zis:

And at the evening sacrifice I rose from my fasting, with my garment and my cloak torn, and fell upon my knees and spread out my hands to the LORD my God,

Így szóltam: Én Istenem, szégyellem és pironkodom fölemelni arcomat tehozzád, mert álnokságaink átcsaptak fejünk fölött, és vétkünk egészen az égig növekedett!

És mondék: Én Istenem, szégyenlem és átallom felemelni, én Istenem, az én orczámat te hozzád, mert a mi álnokságaink felülhaladtak fejünk fölött és a mi vétkeink mind az égig nevekedtek!

And said, O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to thee, my God: for our iniquities are increased over our head, and our trespass is grown up unto the heavens.

„Dumnezeule, sunt uluit şi mi-e ruşine, Dumnezeule, să-mi ridic faţa spre Tine. Căci fărădelegile noastre s-au înmulţit deasupra capetelor noastre, şi greşelile noastre au ajuns până la ceruri.

saying: “O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift my face to you, my God, for our iniquities have risen higher than our heads, and our guilt has mounted up to the heavens.

Atyáink napjaitól fogva mind e mai napig nagy vétekben vagyunk, és álnokságainkért kerültünk mi, királyaink és papjaink más országok királyainak kezébe, fegyver által rabságra, prédára és arcunk pirulására, ahogy ma is van.

A mi atyáink napjaitól fogva nagy vétekben vagyunk mi mind e mai napig, és a mi álnokságainkért adattunk vala mi, a mi királyaink és a mi papjaink a földi királyok kezébe, fegyver által rabságra és ragadományra és orczapirulásra, a mint [ez ]a mai nap [is van.]

Since the days of our fathers have we been in a great trespass unto this day; and for our iniquities have we, our kings, and our priests, been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, and to a spoil, and to confusion of face, as it is this day.

Din zilele părinţilor noştri am fost foarte vinovaţi până în ziua de azi, şi din pricina fărădelegilor noastre am fost daţi, noi, împăraţii noştri şi preoţii noştri, în mâinile împăraţilor străini, pradă sabiei, robiei, jafului şi ruşinii care ne acoperă astăzi faţa.

From the days of our fathers to this day we have been in great guilt. And for our iniquities we, our kings, and our priests have been given into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, to plundering, and to utter shame, as it is today.

Éppen csak rövid ideje annak, hogy megkönyörült rajtunk az ÚR, a mi Istenünk, hogy maradékot hagyjon nekünk, és hogy adjon nekünk egy szegletet szent helyén, és így megvilágosította tekintetünket a mi Istenünk, és megelevenített bennünket egy kissé szolgaságunkban.

És most nem sok ideje, hogy az Úr, a mi Istenünk rajtunk könyörült, hogy hagyjon minékünk maradékot, és hogy adjon nékünk egy szeget az ő szent helyén, hogy így megvilágosítsa szemeinket a mi Istenünk, s hogy megelevenítsen bennünket egy kissé a mi szolgaságunkban.

And now for a little space grace hath been shewed from the LORD our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a nail in his holy place, that our God may lighten our eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage.

Şi totuşi Domnul Dumnezeul nostru S-a îndurat de noi, lăsându-ne câţiva oameni scăpaţi şi dându-ne un adăpost în locul Lui cel sfânt, ca să ne lumineze ochii şi să ne dea puţină răsuflare în mijlocul robiei noastre.

But now for a brief moment favor has been shown by the LORD our God, to leave us a remnant and to give us a secure hold within his holy place, that our God may brighten our eyes and grant us a little reviving in our slavery.

Mert szolgák vagyunk, de Istenünk szolgaságunkban nem hagyott el minket, hanem felénk fordította irgalmasságát Perzsia királyai által, hogy megelevenítsen bennünket, és fölépíthessük Istenünk házát, helyreállíthassuk romjait, és védőfallal vett körül minket Júdában és Jeruzsálemben.

Mert szolgák vagyunk mi, de szolgaságunkban nem hagyott el minket a mi Istenünk, hanem hozzánk fordítá irgalmasságát Persiának királyai előtt, hogy megelevenítene bennünket, hogy felemelhessük a mi Istenünk házát s megépíthessük annak romjait, és hogy adjon nékünk bátorságos lakást Júdában és Jeruzsálemben.

For we were bondmen; yet our God hath not forsaken us in our bondage, but hath extended mercy unto us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, to set up the house of our God, and to repair the desolations thereof, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem.

Căci suntem robi, dar Dumnezeu nu ne-a părăsit în robia noastră. A îndreptat spre noi bunăvoinţa împăraţilor perşilor, şi ei ne-au dat o nouă putere de viaţă, ca să putem zidi Casa Dumnezeului nostru şi să-i dregem dărâmăturile, făcându-ne astfel rost de un loc de adăpost în Iuda şi la Ierusalim.

For we are slaves. Yet our God has not forsaken us in our slavery, but has extended to us his steadfast love before the kings of Persia, to grant us some reviving to set up the house of our God, to repair its ruins, and to give us protection in Judea and Jerusalem.

És most mit mondjunk ezek után, ó, Istenünk? Hiszen mi mégis elhagytuk parancsolataidat,

És most mit mondjunk, óh mi Istenünk, [mindezek] után? [Azt, ]hogy mi [mégis] elhagytuk parancsolataidat,

And now, O our God, what shall we say after this? for we have forsaken thy commandments,

Acum, ce să mai zicem noi după aceste lucruri, Dumnezeule? Căci am părăsit poruncile Tale,

“And now, O our God, what shall we say after this? For we have forsaken your commandments,

amelyeket szolgáid, a próféták által parancsoltál, e szavakkal: A föld, amelyre bementek, hogy birtokba vegyétek, tisztátalan föld, a föld népeinek tisztátalansága és utálatosságai miatt, amelyekkel betöltötték azt egyik végétől a másikig tisztátalanságukkal.

A melyeket parancsoltál szolgáid, a próféták által, mondván: A föld, melyre bementek, hogy bírjátok azt, tisztátalan föld, a tartományok népeinek tisztátalansága miatt, útálatosságaik miatt, melyekkel betölték azt egyik végétől a másikig tisztátalanságukban;

Which thou hast commanded by thy servants the prophets, saying, The land, unto which ye go to possess it, is an unclean land with the filthiness of the people of the lands, with their abominations, which have filled it from one end to another with their uncleanness.

pe care ni le porunciseşi prin robii Tăi prorocii, zicând: „Ţara în care intraţi s-o stăpâniţi este o ţară întinată de necurăţiile popoarelor din aceste ţinuturi, de urâciunile cu care au umplut-o de la un capăt la altul cu necurăţiile lor.

which you commanded by your servants the prophets, saying, ‘The land that you are entering, to take possession of it, is a land impure with the impurity of the peoples of the lands, with their abominations that have filled it from end to end with their uncleanness.

Azért leányaitokat ne adjátok fiaikhoz, és leányaikat ne vegyétek feleségül fiaitok számára, és ne keressétek soha békességüket, sem javukat. Akkor megerősödhettek, és élhettek e föld javaival, és örökségképpen adhatjátok azt fiaitoknak mindörökre.

Annakokáért leányaitokat ne adjátok az ő fiaiknak és az ő leányaikat ne vegyétek fiaitoknak, és ne keressétek barátságukat, sem javokat soha, hogy megerősödjetek és éljetek e föld javaival, és örökségképen adhassátok azt fiaitoknak mindörökké.

Now therefore give not your daughters unto their sons, neither take their daughters unto your sons, nor seek their peace or their wealth for ever: that ye may be strong, and eat the good of the land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children for ever.

Să nu daţi deci pe fetele voastre după fiii lor, nici să nu luaţi pe fetele lor de neveste pentru fiii voştri, şi să nu vă pese niciodată nici de propăşirea lor, nici de bunăstarea lor. În chipul acesta veţi ajunge tari, veţi mânca cele mai bune roade ale ţării şi o veţi lăsa pe veci moştenire fiilor voştri.”

Therefore do not give your daughters to their sons, neither take their daughters for your sons, and never seek their peace or prosperity, that you may be strong and eat the good of the land and leave it for an inheritance to your children forever.’

Mindazok után pedig, amik elértek minket gonosz cselekedeteink és nagy vétkünk miatt, te, Istenünk, jobban bántál velünk, semmint bűneink miatt érdemeltük volna, sőt meghagytad ezt a megmenekült maradékot.

Mindazok után pedig, a mik reánk jövének gonosz cselekedeteinkért és nagy vétkünkért, hiszen te, mi Istenünk, jobban kedveztél nékünk, sem mint bűneink miatt érdemeltünk volna, s adád nékünk e maradékot,

And after all that is come upon us for our evil deeds, and for our great trespass, seeing that thou our God hast punished us less than our iniquities deserve, and hast given us such deliverance as this;

După tot ce mi s-a întâmplat din pricina faptelor rele şi marilor greşeli pe care le-am făcut, măcar că Tu, Dumnezeule, nu ne-ai pedepsit după fărădelegile noastre, se cuvine ca acum, când ne-ai păstrat pe aceşti oameni scăpaţi,

And after all that has come upon us for our evil deeds and for our great guilt, seeing that you, our God, have punished us less than our iniquities deserved and have given us such a remnant as this,

Hát megszeghetjük-e ismét parancsaidat, és összeházasodhatunk-e ezekkel az utálatos népekkel? Nem haragudnál-e ránk mindaddig, míg csak el nem pusztulnánk, hogy se maradékunk, se hírmondónk ne legyen?

Hát megrontjuk-é ismét parancsolataidat s összeházasodunk-é ez útálatos népekkel? Nem fogsz-é haragudni reánk mindaddig, míg megemésztetünk, hogy sem maradékunk, sem hírmondónk ne legyen?

Should we again break thy commandments, and join in affinity with the people of these abominations? wouldest not thou be angry with us till thou hadst consumed us, so that there should be no remnant nor escaping?

să începem iarăşi să încălcăm poruncile Tale şi să ne încuscrim cu aceste popoare urâcioase? N-ar izbucni atunci iarăşi mânia Ta împotriva noastră, până acolo încât ne-ar nimici, fără să lase nici rămăşiţă, nici robi izbăviţi?

shall we break your commandments again and intermarry with the peoples who practice these abominations? Would you not be angry with us until you consumed us, so that there should be no remnant, nor any to escape?

Ó, URam, Izráel Istene! Igaz vagy te, mert megmaradhattunk menekültként, ahogy ez a mai nap bizonyítja. Íme, vétkesek vagyunk előtted, nem állhatunk meg színed előtt!

Oh Uram, Izráel Istene! igaz vagy te, mert meghagytál minket, maradék gyanánt, mint e mai nap [bizonyítja.] Ímé előtted vagyunk vétkünkben, és nem állhatunk meg előtted e miatt!

O LORD God of Israel, thou art righteous: for we remain yet escaped, as it is this day: behold, we are before thee in our trespasses: for we cannot stand before thee because of this.

Doamne Dumnezeul lui Israel, Tu eşti drept; căci astăzi noi suntem o rămăşiţă de robi izbăviţi. Iată-ne înaintea Ta ca nişte vinovaţi, şi din această pricină nu putem sta înaintea Ta.”

O LORD, the God of Israel, you are just, for we are left a remnant that has escaped, as it is today. Behold, we are before you in our guilt, for none can stand before you because of this.”
