Pál, Isten szolgája, Jézus Krisztusnak pedig apostola, az Isten választottainak hitéért és a kegyesség szerint való igazságnak megismeréséért,

Pál, Istennek szolgája, Jézus Krisztusnak pedig apostola, az Isten választottainak hite és a kegyesség szerint való igazságnak megismerése szerint,

Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;

Pavel, rob al lui Dumnezeu şi apostol al lui Isus Hristos, potrivit cu credinţa aleşilor lui Dumnezeu şi cunoştinţa adevărului care este potrivit cu evlavia,

Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, for the sake of the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth, which accords with godliness,

az örök élet reménységében, amelyet örök idők előtt megígért Isten, aki nem hazudik,

In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

a maga idejében pedig kijelentette az igehirdetés által, amelyet rám bízott a mi megtartó Istenünk parancsolata szerint. Titusznak, a közös hit szerint való igaz gyermekemnek:

But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;

ci Şi-a descoperit Cuvântul la vremea Lui, prin propovăduirea care mi-a fost încredinţată, după porunca lui Dumnezeu, Mântuitorul nostru; –

and at the proper time manifested in his word through the preaching with which I have been entrusted by the command of God our Savior;

Kegyelem és békesség Istentől, a mi Atyánktól és Krisztus Jézustól, a mi Üdvözítőnktől.

Kegyelem, irgalmasság és békesség az Atya Istentől és az Úr Jézus Krisztustól, a mi Megtartónktól.

To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.

către Tit, adevăratul meu copil în credinţa noastră a amândurora: Har şi pace de la Dumnezeu Tatăl şi de la Isus Hristos, Mântuitorul nostru!

To Titus, my true child in a common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.

Azért hagytalak téged Krétában, hogy az elintézetlen ügyeket hozd rendbe, és rendelj városonként presbitereket, amint meghagytam neked.

A végett hagytalak téged Krétában, hogy a hátramaradt dolgokat hozd rendbe, és rendelj városonként presbitereket, a miképen én néked meghagytam;

For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:

Te-am lăsat în Creta ca să pui în rânduială ce mai rămâne de rânduit şi să aşezi prezbiteri în fiecare cetate, după cum ţi-am poruncit:

This is why I left you in Crete, so that you might put what remained into order, and appoint elders in every town as I directed you—

Olyat, aki feddhetetlen, egyfeleségű férfi, akinek hívő gyermekei vannak, akik nem vádolhatók kicsapongással vagy engedetlenséggel.

Ha van feddhetetlen, egy feleségű férfiú, a kinek hívő, nem kicsapongással vádolt avagy engedetlen gyermekei vannak.

If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.

dacă este cineva fără prihană, bărbat al unei singure neveste, având copii credincioşi, care să nu fie învinuiţi de destrăbălare sau neascultare.

if anyone is above reproach, the husband of one wife, and his children are believers and not open to the charge of debauchery or insubordination.

Szükséges ugyanis, hogy a püspök feddhetetlen legyen, mint Isten sáfára, nem öntelt, nem indulatos, nem részeges, nem kötekedő, nem haszonleső,

Mert szükséges, hogy a püspök feddhetetlen legyen, mint Isten sáfára; nem akaratos, nem haragos, nem részeges, nem verekedő, nem rút nyerészkedő;

For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;

Căci episcopul, ca econom al lui Dumnezeu, trebuie să fie fără prihană; nu încăpăţânat, nici mânios, nici dedat la vin, nici bătăuş, nici lacom de câştig mârşav;

For an overseer, as God’s steward, must be above reproach. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain,

hanem vendégszerető, a jónak kedvelője, mértékletes, igaz, kegyes, önmegtartóztató,

Hanem vendégszerető, jónak kedvelője, mértékletes, igaz, tiszta, maga tűrtető;

But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;

ci să fie primitor de oaspeţi, iubitor de bine, cumpătat, drept, sfânt, înfrânat;

but hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined.

aki tartja magát a tanítás szerint való igaz beszédhez, hogy képes legyen bátorítani az egészséges tanítással és meggyőzni az ellenkezőket.

A ki a tudomány szerint való igaz beszédhez tartja magát, hogy inthessen az egészséges tudománnyal és meggyőzhesse az ellenkezőket.

Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

să se ţină de Cuvântul adevărat, care este potrivit cu învăţătura, pentru ca să fie în stare să sfătuiască în învăţătura sănătoasă şi să înfrunte pe potrivnici.

He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it.

Mert sokan engedetlenek, fecsegők és ámítók, főleg a körülmetéltek között.

Mert van sok engedetlen, hiába való beszédű és csaló, kiváltképen a körülmetélkedésből valók,

For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:

În adevăr, mai ales printre cei tăiaţi împrejur, sunt mulţi nesupuşi, flecari şi amăgitori,

For there are many who are insubordinate, empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision party.

Ezeket el kell hallgattatni, mert egész családokat felforgatnak azzal, hogy olyasmiket tanítanak aljas nyerészkedésből, amiket nem kellene.

A kiknek be kell dugni a szájokat; a kik egész házakat feldúlnak, tanítván rút nyereség okáért, a miket nem kellene.

Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.

cărora trebuie să li se astupe gura. Ei buimăcesc familii întregi, învăţând pe oameni, pentru un câştig urât, lucruri pe care nu trebuie să le înveţe.

They must be silenced, since they are upsetting whole families by teaching for shameful gain what they ought not to teach.

One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.

Unul dintre ei, chiar proroc al lor, a zis: „Cretanii sunt totdeauna nişte mincinoşi, nişte fiare rele, nişte pântece leneşe.”

One of the Cretans, a prophet of their own, said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.”

Ez a bizonyság igaz, azért kímélet nélkül intsd őket, hogy a hitben egészségesek legyenek.

This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;

Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.

not devoting themselves to Jewish myths and the commands of people who turn away from the truth.

Minden tiszta a tisztának, de a fertőzötteknek és hitetleneknek semmi sem tiszta, mert elméjük és lelkiismeretük beszennyeződött.

Minden tiszta a tisztáknak: de a megfertőztetetteknek és hitetleneknek semmi sem tiszta; hanem megfertőztetett azoknak mind elméjök, mind lelkiismeretök.

Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

Totul este curat pentru cei curaţi; dar pentru cei necuraţi şi necredincioşi, nimic nu este curat: până şi mintea şi cugetul le sunt spurcate.

To the pure, all things are pure, but to the defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their minds and their consciences are defiled.

Azt vallják, hogy ismerik Istent, de cselekedeteikkel tagadják, mert utálatosak, engedetlenek és minden jó cselekedetre alkalmatlanok.

Vallják, hogy Istent ismerik, de cselekedeteikkel tagadják, mivelhogy útálatosak és hitetlenek és minden jó cselekedetre méltatlanok.

They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

Ei se laudă că cunosc pe Dumnezeu, dar cu faptele Îl tăgăduiesc, căci sunt o scârbă: nesupuşi şi netrebnici pentru orice faptă bună.

They profess to know God, but they deny him by their works. They are detestable, disobedient, unfit for any good work.
