Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Hálát adok az én Istenemnek, valahányszor megemlékezem rólatok,

I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,

Mulţumesc Dumnezeului meu pentru toată aducerea aminte pe care o păstrez despre voi.

I thank my God in all my remembrance of you,

és mindenkor minden könyörgésemben örömmel imádkozom mindnyájatokért,

Mindenkor minden én könyörgésemben mindenitekért nagy örömmel könyörögvén,

Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,

În toate rugăciunile mele mă rog pentru voi toţi, cu bucurie,

always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy,

mivel az első naptól fogva mind ez ideig közösséget vállaltatok az evangéliummal.

Mivelhogy résztvettetek az evangyéliom ügyében az első naptól fogva mind ez ideig;

For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;

pentru partea pe care o luaţi la Evanghelie, din cea dintâi zi până acum.

because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.

Ezért meg vagyok győződve arról, hogy aki elkezdte bennetek a jó munkát, elvégezi a Krisztus Jézus napjáig.

Meg lévén győződve arról, hogy a ki elkezdette bennetek a jó dolgot, elvégezi a Krisztus Jézusnak napjáig:

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Sunt încredinţat că Acela care a început în voi această bună lucrare o va isprăvi până în ziua lui Isus Hristos.

And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

Méltó dolog így gondolkoznom mindnyájatokról, mert szívemben hordozlak titeket, mint akik mind az én fogságomban, mind az evangélium védelmében és megerősítésében mindnyájan részestársaim vagytok a nekem adott kegyelemben.

A mint hogy méltó, hogy én ilyen értelemben legyek mindenitek felől, azért, mert én szívemben hordalak titeket, mint a kik mind az én fogságomban, mind az evangyéliomnak oltalmazásában és megbizonyításában mindnyájan részestársaim vagytok a nékem adott kegyelemben.

Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.

Este drept să gândesc astfel despre voi toţi, fiindcă vă port în inima mea, întrucât, atât în lanţurile mele cât şi în apărarea şi întărirea Evangheliei, voi sunteţi toţi părtaşi aceluiaşi har.

It is right for me to feel this way about you all, because I hold you in my heart, for you are all partakers with me of grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel.

For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.

Căci martor îmi este Dumnezeu că vă iubesc pe toţi cu o dragoste nespusă, în Isus Hristos.

For God is my witness, how I yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus.

Azért imádkozom, hogy a ti szeretetetek egyre jobban bővölködjék ismeretben és teljes megértésben,

És azért imádkozom, hogy a ti szeretetetek még jobban-jobban bővölködjék ismeretben és minden értelmességben;

And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;

Şi mă rog ca dragostea voastră să crească tot mai mult în cunoştinţă şi orice pricepere,

And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment,

hogy megítélhessétek, hogy mi a becsesebb, és így tiszták és feddhetetlenek legyetek a Krisztus napjára,

Hogy megítélhessétek, hogy mi a rossz és mi a jó; hogy legyetek tiszták és botlás nélkül valók a Krisztusnak napjára;

That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ.

ca să deosebiţi lucrurile alese, pentru ca să fiţi curaţi şi să nu vă poticniţi până în ziua venirii lui Hristos,

so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,

teljesek az igazság gyümölcsével, amelyet Jézus Krisztus terem Isten dicsőségére és magasztalására.

Teljesek lévén az igazságnak gyümölcsével, melyet Jézus Krisztus [teremt] az Isten dicsőségére és magasztalására.

Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

plini de roada neprihănirii, prin Isus Hristos, spre slava şi lauda lui Dumnezeu.

filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

Szeretném, ha tudnátok, testvéreim, hogy amik velem történtek, inkább előmenetelére lettek az evangéliumnak,

Tudtotokra akarom pedig adni, atyámfiai, hogy az én dolgaim inkább előmenetelére lőnek az evangyéliomnak;

But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel;

Vreau să ştiţi, fraţilor, că împrejurările în care mă găsesc, mai degrabă au lucrat la înaintarea Evangheliei.

I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel,

mert az egész testőrség előtt és mindenki más előtt is nyilvánvaló lett, hogy Krisztusért viselem a bilincseket,

Annyira, hogy a Krisztusban híressé lett az én fogságom a testőrség egész házában és minden mások előtt;

So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places;

În adevăr, în toată curtea împărătească şi pretutindeni aiurea, toţi ştiu că sunt pus în lanţuri din pricina lui Isus Hristos.

so that it has become known throughout the whole imperial guard and to all the rest that my imprisonment is for Christ.

és így az Úrban való testvérek közül legtöbben fogságomban bízva, egyre nagyobb bátorsággal merik szólni Isten igéjét.

És többen az Úrban való atyafiak közül bízván az én fogságomban, nagyobb bátorsággal merik szólani az ígét.

And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.

Şi cei mai mulţi din fraţi, îmbărbătaţi de lanţurile mele, au şi mai multă îndrăzneală să vestească fără teamă Cuvântul lui Dumnezeu.

And most of the brothers, having become confident in the Lord by my imprisonment, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.

Némelyek ugyan irigységből és versengésből is, de mások jó szándékból hirdetik Krisztust.

Némelyek ugyan irígységből és versengésből is, de mások jóakaratból is hirdetik a Krisztust.

Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:

Unii, este adevărat, propovăduiesc pe Hristos din pizmă şi din duh de ceartă; dar alţii, din bunăvoinţă.

Some indeed preach Christ from envy and rivalry, but others from good will.

Ezek szeretetből, mert tudják, hogy az evangélium védelmére rendeltettem,

Némelyek versengésből prédikálják a Krisztust, nem tiszta lélekkel, azt hivén, hogy fogságom nyomorúságait [így] megnevelik;

The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:

Aceştia din urmă lucrează din dragoste, ca unii care ştiu că eu sunt însărcinat cu apărarea Evangheliei;

The latter do it out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel.

mások pedig önérdekből, nem tiszta lélekkel hirdetik Krisztust, mert úgy vélik, hogy fogságom nyomorúságait ezzel növelik.

De mások szeretetből, tudván, hogy én az evangyéliomnak oltalmazására rendeltettem.

But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.

cei dintâi, din duh de ceartă vestesc pe Hristos nu cu gând curat, ci ca să mai adauge un necaz la lanţurile mele.

The former proclaim Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely but thinking to afflict me in my imprisonment.

De mit mondjak? Csak az számít, hogy bármi módon, akár színből, akár szívből, Krisztust hirdetik, és én ennek örülök, sőt örülni is fogok.

Mert mit [mondjak?] csakhogy minden módon, akár színből, akár szívből, a Krisztus prédikáltatik: és én ennek örülök, sőt örülni is fogok.

What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.

Ce ne pasă? Oricum, fie de ochii lumii, fie din toată inima, Hristos este propovăduit. Eu mă bucur de lucrul acesta şi mă voi bucura.

What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed, and in that I rejoice. Yes, and I will rejoice,

Mert tudom, hogy ez nekem üdvösségemre lesz a ti könyörgésetek és Jézus Krisztus Lelkének segítsége által,

Mert tudom, hogy ez nékem idvességemre lesz a ti könyörgéstek által és a Jézus Krisztus Lelkének segedelme által,

For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

Căci ştiu că lucrul acesta se va întoarce spre mântuirea mea prin rugăciunile voastre şi prin ajutorul Duhului lui Isus Hristos.

for I know that through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will turn out for my deliverance,

az én esengő várakozásom és reménységem szerint, hogy semmiben nem vallok szégyent, hanem mint mindenkor, úgy most is nagy bátorsággal fog magasztaltatni Krisztus az én testemben akár az életem, akár a halálom által.

Amaz én esengő várásom és reménységem szerint, hogy semmiben meg nem szégyenülök, hanem mint mindenkor, úgy most is nagy bátorsággal fog magasztaltatni Krisztus az én testemben, akár életem, akár halálom által.

According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.

Mă aştept şi nădăjduiesc cu tărie că nu voi fi dat de ruşine cu nimic; ci că acum, ca totdeauna, Hristos va fi proslăvit cu îndrăzneală în trupul meu, fie prin viaţa mea, fie prin moartea mea.

as it is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or by death.

De ha e testben való élet gyümölcsöző munkát jelent számomra, hogy melyiket válasszam, meg sem mondhatom.

But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not.

Dar, dacă trebuie să mai trăiesc în trup, face să trăiesc; şi nu ştiu ce trebuie să aleg.

If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell.

Mert ez a kettő szorongat: kívánok elköltözni és Krisztussal lenni, mert ez sokkal jobb,

Mert szorongattatom e kettő között, kívánván elköltözni és a Krisztussal lenni; mert ez sokkal inkább jobb;

For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:

Sunt strâns din două părţi: aş dori să mă mut şi să fiu împreună cu Hristos, căci ar fi cu mult mai bine;

I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better.

de miattatok szükségesebb e testben megmaradnom.

Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.

dar, pentru voi, este mai de trebuinţă să rămân în trup.

But to remain in the flesh is more necessary on your account.

És ebben bízva tudom, hogy megmaradok, és együtt maradok mindnyájatokkal, a hitben való gyarapodásotokra és örömötökre,

És ebben bízva, tudom, hogy megmaradok és együtt maradok mindnyájatokkal a ti hitben való gyarapodástokra és örömötökre;

And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith;

Şi sunt încredinţat şi ştiu că voi rămâne şi voi trăi cu voi toţi, pentru înaintarea şi bucuria credinţei voastre;

Convinced of this, I know that I will remain and continue with you all, for your progress and joy in the faith,

That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again.

pentru ca, prin întoarcerea mea la voi, să aveţi în mine o mare pricină de laudă în Isus Hristos.

so that in me you may have ample cause to glory in Christ Jesus, because of my coming to you again.

A Krisztus evangéliumához méltóan viselkedjetek, hogy akár odamegyek, és látlak titeket, akár távol vagyok, azt halljam felőletek, hogy megálltok egy lélekben, egy szívvel küzdve az evangélium hitéért,

Csakhogy a Krisztus evangyéliomához méltóan viseljétek magatokat, hogy akár oda menvén és látván titeket, akár távol lévén, azt halljam dolgaitok felől, hogy megállotok egy lélekben, egy érzéssel viaskodván az evangyéliom hitéért;

Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

Numai, purtaţi-vă într-un chip vrednic de Evanghelia lui Hristos, pentru ca, fie că voi veni să vă văd, fie că voi rămâne departe de voi, să aud despre voi că rămâneţi tari în acelaşi duh şi că luptaţi cu un suflet pentru credinţa Evangheliei,

Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel,

és hogy nem rettentek meg semmiben az ellenfelektől, ami nekik a pusztulás jele, nektek az üdvösségé, és ez Istentől van.

És meg nem félemlvén semmiben az ellenségek előtt: a mi azoknak a veszedelem jele, néktek pedig az üdvösségé, és ez az Istentől [van;]

And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.

fără să vă lăsaţi înspăimântaţi de potrivnici; lucrul acesta este pentru ei o dovadă de pierzare, şi de mântuirea voastră, şi aceasta de la Dumnezeu.

and not frightened in anything by your opponents. This is a clear sign to them of their destruction, but of your salvation, and that from God.

Mert nektek nemcsak az adatott meg a Krisztusért, hogy higgyetek benne, hanem az is, hogy szenvedjetek is érte,

Mert néktek adatott az a kegyelem a Krisztusért, nemcsak hogy higyjetek Ő benne, hanem hogy szenvedjetek is Ő érette:

For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

Căci, cu privire la Hristos, vouă vi s-a dat harul nu numai să credeţi în El, ci să şi pătimiţi pentru El

For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake,

ugyanúgy tusakodva, ahogy azt nálam láttátok, és most felőlem halljátok.

Ugyanolyan tusakodástok lévén, a milyent láttatok én nálam, és most hallotok én felőlem.

Having the same conflict which ye saw in me, and now hear to be in me.

şi să şi duceţi, cum şi faceţi, aceeaşi luptă pe care aţi văzut-o la mine şi pe care auziţi că o duc şi acum.

engaged in the same conflict that you saw I had and now hear that I still have.
