He that dasheth in pieces is come up before thy face: keep the munition, watch the way, make thy loins strong, fortify thy power mightily.

Nimicitorul porneşte împotriva ta, Ninive; păzeşte cetăţuia! Ia seama la drum! Întăreşte-ţi coapsele! Adună-ţi toată puterea!…

The scatterer has come up against you. Man the ramparts; watch the road; dress for battle; collect all your strength.

Helyreállítja az ÚR Jákób tekintélyét, csakúgy, mint Izráel tekintélyét, noha rablók rabolták ki őket, hajtásaikat pedig elpusztították.

Mert helyreállítja az Úr Jákób büszkeségét, mint Izráel büszkeségét; mert rablók rabolták ki őket, csemetéiket pedig kivágták.

For the LORD hath turned away the excellency of Jacob, as the excellency of Israel: for the emptiers have emptied them out, and marred their vine branches.

Căci Domnul aşază iarăşi slava lui Iacov şi o face iarăşi ca slava de odinioară a lui Israel, pentru că i-au jefuit jefuitorii şi le-au stricat butucii de vie…

For the LORD is restoring the majesty of Jacob as the majesty of Israel, for plunderers have plundered them and ruined their branches.

Vitézeinek pajzsa vörös, a katonák ruházata bíborszínű, harci szekere acélosan ragyog harcba készülése napján, és dárdáikat rengetik.

Vitézeinek pajzsa veres, katonáinak [ruházata] bíborszínű, [hadi]szekere aczéltűzben [ragyog] fegyverkezése napján, és a dárdákat rengetik.

The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men are in scarlet: the chariots shall be with flaming torches in the day of his preparation, and the fir trees shall be terribly shaken.

Scuturile vitejilor săi sunt roşii, războinicii sunt îmbrăcaţi cu purpură; fulgeră carele de focul oţelului în ziua sorocită pregătirii de luptă, şi suliţele se învârtesc.

The shield of his mighty men is red; his soldiers are clothed in scarlet. The chariots come with flashing metal on the day he musters them; the cypress spears are brandished.

Harci szekerek robognak az utcákon, összevissza száguldoznak a tereken. Csillogásuk olyan, mint a fáklyáké, gyorsak, mint a villámok.

Az utczákon robognak a szekerek, összeütköznek a piaczokon; tekintetök mint a fáklyák, futkosnak mint a villámok.

The chariots shall rage in the streets, they shall justle one against another in the broad ways: they shall seem like torches, they shall run like the lightnings.

Duruiesc carele pe uliţe, se năpustesc unele peste altele în pieţe; parcă sunt nişte făclii la vedere şi aleargă ca fulgerele…

The chariots race madly through the streets; they rush to and fro through the squares; they gleam like torches; they dart like lightning.

Előszólítja vitézeit, jártukban botladoznak, sietnek a kőfalra, és felállítják a védelmet.

Emlegeti [vitézlő] hőseit; ingadoznak lépéseikben, sietnek a kőfalra, és felállíttatik a védősáncz.

He shall recount his worthies: they shall stumble in their walk; they shall make haste to the wall thereof, and the defence shall be prepared.

El, împăratul Ninivei, cheamă pe oamenii lui cei viteji, dar ei se poticnesc în mersul lor; aleargă spre ziduri şi se gătesc de apărare…

He remembers his officers; they stumble as they go, they hasten to the wall; the siege tower is set up.

A folyam felőli kapuk megnyílnak, és a palota megrendül.

The gates of the rivers shall be opened, and the palace shall be dissolved.

Porţile de la râuri sunt deschise, şi palatul se prăbuşeşte!…

The river gates are opened; the palace melts away;

De elvégeztetett: a királynőt levetkőztetik, elviszik, szolgálói keseregnek, mint a nyögő galambok, és mellüket verik.

And Huzzab shall be led away captive, she shall be brought up, and her maids shall lead her as with the voice of doves, tabering upon their breasts.

S-a isprăvit cu ea: este dezgolită, este luată; slujnicele ei se vaită ca nişte turturele şi se bat în piept.

its mistress is stripped; she is carried off, her slave girls lamenting, moaning like doves and beating their breasts.

Ninive pedig olyan lesz, mint egy víztároló, amelynek elfolyt a vize. Álljatok meg, álljatok meg! – kiáltják, de senki sem tekint vissza.

Pedig Ninive olyan, mint a [bő]vizű tó, eleitől fogva: mégis futnak ők. Álljatok meg, álljatok meg! De vissza se tekint senki.

But Nineveh is of old like a pool of water: yet they shall flee away. Stand, stand, shall they cry; but none shall look back.

Ninive era odinioară ca un iaz plin de apă… Dar, iată-i că fug!… „Staţi! Staţi! Opriţi-vă!…” Dar niciunul nu se întoarce…

Nineveh is like a pool whose waters run away. “Halt! Halt!” they cry, but none turns back.

Raboljatok ezüstöt, raboljatok aranyat! Se szeri, se száma a sok kincsnek, a rengeteg, sokféle drágaságnak.

Raboljatok ezüstöt, raboljatok aranyat; száma sincs a rejtett kincseknek, gazdag minden drága edényben.

Take ye the spoil of silver, take the spoil of gold: for there is none end of the store and glory out of all the pleasant furniture.

Jefuiţi argintul! Jefuiţi aurul! Acolo sunt comori nesfârşite, tot felul de bogăţii de lucruri scumpe!

Plunder the silver, plunder the gold! There is no end of the treasure or of the wealth of all precious things.

Dúlás, pusztítás, fosztogatás! Megolvad a szív, reszketnek a térdek, a derekakba fájdalom hasít, és mindnyájuk arca elveszti pirosságát.

Feldúlva, széthányva, kifosztatva! Szíve megolvadt, a térdek reszketnek, fájdalom van egész derekában, és mindnyájok arcza elvesztette pirosságát.

She is empty, and void, and waste: and the heart melteth, and the knees smite together, and much pain is in all loins, and the faces of them all gather blackness.

Este jefuită, pustiită şi stoarsă de tot! Inima îi e mâhnită, îi tremură genunchii, toate coapsele suferă şi toate feţele au îngălbenit.

Desolate! Desolation and ruin! Hearts melt and knees tremble; anguish is in all loins; all faces grow pale!

Hol van az oroszlánok tanyája és az oroszlánkölykök helye, ahová járni szokott a nőstény és hím oroszlán, az oroszlánkölyök, és nem volt, aki elriassza onnan?

Hol van az oroszlánok tanyája, és az oroszlán-kölyköknek ama legelője, a hová járt a nőstény- és hímoroszlán, az oroszlán-kölyök, és nem volt a ki elriaszsza?

Where is the dwelling of the lions, and the feedingplace of the young lions, where the lion, even the old lion, walked, and the lion's whelp, and none made them afraid?

Unde este acum culcuşul acela de lei, păşunea aceea pentru puii de lei, pe unde umbla leul, leoaica şi puiul de leu fără să-i tulbure nimeni?

Where is the lions’ den, the feeding place of the young lions, where the lion and lioness went, where his cubs were, with none to disturb?

Az oroszlán annyit zsákmányolt kölykeinek, hogy beteljenek, és fojtogatott nőstényeinek: megtöltötte barlangjait zsákmánnyal, tanyáit pedig prédával.

Az oroszlán torkig valót ragadozott kölykeinek, és fojtogatott nőstényeinek, és megtöltötte barlangjait zsákmánynyal, tanyáit pedig prédával.

The lion did tear in pieces enough for his whelps, and strangled for his lionesses, and filled his holes with prey, and his dens with ravin.

Leul sfâşia cât îi trebuia pentru puii săi, sugruma pentru leoaicele sale; îşi umplea vizuinile de pradă, şi culcuşurile, cu ce răpise.

The lion tore enough for his cubs and strangled prey for his lionesses; he filled his caves with prey and his dens with torn flesh.

Íme, én rád török – ezt mondja a Seregek URa –, és porig égetem harci szekeredet! Oroszlánkölykeidet kard emészti meg, és megszüntetem e földön zsákmányolásodat, és nem hallható többé követeid szava.

Ímé rád [török,] azt mondja a Seregek Ura, és füstté égetem szekereit. Oroszlán-kölykeidet kard emészti meg, és kiirtom e földről zsákmányodat, és nem hallatszik többé követeidnek szava.

Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions: and I will cut off thy prey from the earth, and the voice of thy messengers shall no more be heard.

„Iată că am necaz pe tine, zice Domnul oştirilor; în fum îţi voi preface carele de război, sabia va mistui pe puii tăi de lei, îţi voi nimici prada din ţară, şi nu se va mai auzi glasul solilor tăi.”

Behold, I am against you, declares the LORD of hosts, and I will burn your chariots in smoke, and the sword shall devour your young lions. I will cut off your prey from the earth, and the voice of your messengers shall no longer be heard.
