Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellowlabourer,

Mindenkor hálát adok az én Istenemnek, amikor megemlékezem rólad imádságaimban –

Hálát adok az én Istenemnek mindenkor, emlegetvén téged az én imádságaimban,

I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers,

Mulţumesc totdeauna Dumnezeului meu ori de câte ori îmi aduc aminte de tine în rugăciunile mele,

I thank my God always when I remember you in my prayers,

mert hallok a te szeretetedről és hitedről, amely az Úr Jézus és minden szent iránt van benned –,

Mert hallom a te szeretetedet és ama te hitedet, mely van benned az Úr Jézushoz, és minden szentek irányában,

Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints;

pentru că am auzit despre credinţa pe care o ai în Domnul Isus şi dragostea faţă de toţi sfinţii.

because I hear of your love and of the faith that you have toward the Lord Jesus and for all the saints,

hogy hited közössége hatékony legyen mindannak a jónak a megismerésében, ami Krisztusért van bennünk.

Hogy a te hitedben való közösség hathatós legyen, a Krisztus ügyében, minden bennetek levő jónak megismerése által.

That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

Îl rog ca această părtăşie a ta la credinţă să se arate prin fapte, care să dea la iveală tot binele ce se face între noi în Hristos.

and I pray that the sharing of your faith may become effective for the full knowledge of every good thing that is in us for the sake of Christ.

Mert sok örömünk és vigasztalásunk volt szeretetedben, mert a szentek szíve felüdült általad, testvérem.

Mert sok örömünk és vígasztalásunk van a te szeretetedben, hogy a szenteknek szíveik megvídámodtak te általad, atyámfia.

For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother.

În adevăr, am avut o mare bucurie şi mângâiere pentru dragostea ta, fiindcă, frate, inimile sfinţilor au fost înviorate prin tine.

For I have derived much joy and comfort from your love, my brother, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you.

Jóllehet Krisztusban volna bátorságom ahhoz, hogy megparancsoljam neked azt, ami illő,

Annakokáért jóllehet nagy bátorságom van a Krisztusban, megparancsolni néked azt, a mi illendő,

Wherefore, though I might be much bold in Christ to enjoin thee that which is convenient,

De aceea, măcar că am toată slobozenia în Hristos să-ţi poruncesc ce trebuie să faci,

Accordingly, though I am bold enough in Christ to command you to do what is required,

a szeretetért azonban inkább csak kérlek – ilyen vagyok én, az öreg Pál, most pedig még Krisztus Jézus foglya is.

A szeretetért inkább kérlek, ilyen lévén, mint Pál, a megvénhedett, most pedig foglya is a Jézus Krisztusnak;

Yet for love's sake I rather beseech thee, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.

vreau mai degrabă să-ţi fac o rugăminte în numele dragostei, eu, aşa cum sunt, bătrânul Pavel; iar acum întemniţat pentru Hristos Isus.

yet for love’s sake I prefer to appeal to you—I, Paul, an old man and now a prisoner also for Christ Jesus—

Kérlek téged az én fiamért, akit fogságomban szültem, Onézimoszért,

I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds:

Te rog pentru copilul meu pe care l-am născut în lanţurile mele: pentru Onisim,

I appeal to you for my child, Onesimus, whose father I became in my imprisonment.

aki egykor neked haszontalan volt, most pedig neked is, nekem is nagyon hasznos,

A ki egykor tenéked haszontalan volt, most pedig mind néked, mind nékem nagyon hasznos,

Which in time past was to thee unprofitable, but now profitable to thee and to me:

care altădată ţi-a fost nefolositor, dar care acum îţi va fi folositor şi ţie şi mie.

(Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.)

akit visszaküldtem mint saját szívemet.

Kit visszaküldöttem; te pedig őt, azaz az én szívemet, fogadd magadhoz!

Whom I have sent again: thou therefore receive him, that is, mine own bowels:

Ţi-l trimit înapoi, pe el, inima mea.

I am sending him back to you, sending my very heart.

Magamnál akartam tartani, hogy helyetted szolgáljon nekem az evangéliumért szenvedett fogságomban,

Őt én magamnál akartam tartani, hogy te helyetted szolgáljon nékem az evangyéliomért [szenvedett] fogságomban;

Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered unto me in the bonds of the gospel:

Aş fi dorit să-l ţin la mine ca să-mi slujească în locul tău cât sunt în lanţuri pentru Evanghelie.

I would have been glad to keep him with me, in order that he might serve me on your behalf during my imprisonment for the gospel,

de hozzájárulásod nélkül semmit sem akartam tenni, hogy jótéteményed ne kényszerű, hanem önkéntes legyen.

De a te megkérdezésed nélkül semmit sem akartam cselekedni, hogy jótéteményed ne kényszerítésből, hanem szabad akaratból való legyen.

But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.

Dar n-am vrut să fac nimic fără învoirea ta, pentru ca binele pe care mi-l faci să nu fie silit, ci de bunăvoie.

but I preferred to do nothing without your consent in order that your goodness might not be by compulsion but of your own accord.

Mert talán azért vált meg tőled ideig-óráig, hogy őt mint örökkévalót kapd vissza.

For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receive him for ever;

Poate că el a fost despărţit de tine, pentru o vreme, tocmai ca să-l ai pentru veşnicie,

For this perhaps is why he was parted from you for a while, that you might have him back forever,

Most már nem úgy, mint rabszolgát, hanem rabszolgánál nagyobbat, mint szeretett testvért, különösen nekem, de mennyivel inkább neked, mind testben, mind az Úrban.

Nem úgy immár mint szolgát, hanem szolgánál nagyobbat, [mint] szeretett atyafit, kiváltképen nékem, mennyivel inkább pedig néked, mind testben, mind az Úrban.

Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?

dar nu ca pe un rob, ci mult mai presus decât pe un rob: ca pe un frate preaiubit, mai ales de mine, şi cu atât mai mult de tine, fie în chip firesc, fie în Domnul!

no longer as a bondservant but more than a bondservant, as a beloved brother—especially to me, but how much more to you, both in the flesh and in the Lord.

Azért ha engem társadnak tartasz, úgy fogadd őt magadhoz, mint engem.

Azért, ha engem részestársadnak tartasz, úgy fogadd őt magadhoz, mint engemet.

If thou count me therefore a partner, receive him as myself.

Dacă mă socoteşti, dar, ca prieten al tău, primeşte-l ca pe mine însumi.

So if you consider me your partner, receive him as you would receive me.

Ha pedig valamit vétett ellened, vagy adós, azt nekem számítsd be.

Ha pedig valamit vétett ellened, avagy adós, ezt nekem róvd fel.

If he hath wronged thee, or oweth thee ought, put that on mine account;

Şi, dacă ţi-a adus vreo vătămare sau îţi este dator cu ceva, pune aceasta în socoteala mea.

If he has wronged you at all, or owes you anything, charge that to my account.

Én, Pál írtam ezt saját kezemmel, én megfizetem azt, noha azt is mondhatnám, hogy önmagaddal is tartozol nekem.

Én Pál írtam az én kezemmel, én megfizetem: hogy [azt] ne mondjam néked, hogy te magaddal is adós vagy ezen felül nékem.

I Paul have written it with mine own hand, I will repay it: albeit I do not say to thee how thou owest unto me even thine own self besides.

Eu, Pavel „voi plăti” – scriu cu mâna mea – ca să nu-ţi zic că tu însuţi te datorezi mie.

I, Paul, write this with my own hand: I will repay it—to say nothing of your owing me even your own self.

Bizony, testvérem, bárcsak hasznodat vehetném az Úrban! Üdítsd fel azért a szívemet Krisztusban!

Bizonyára, atyámfia, jótéteményt várnék tőled az Úrban: vídámítsd meg az én szívemet az Úrban!

Yea, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord: refresh my bowels in the Lord.

Da, frate, fă-mi binele acesta în Domnul şi înviorează-mi inima în Hristos!

Yes, brother, I want some benefit from you in the Lord. Refresh my heart in Christ.

Engedelmességedben bízva írtam neked. Tudom, hogy többet is teszel annál, mint amit mondok.

Bízván a te engedelmességedben, [így] írtam néked, tudván, hogy annál, a mit mondok, többet is fogsz cselekedni.

Having confidence in thy obedience I wrote unto thee, knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say.

Ţi-am scris bizuit pe ascultarea ta, şi ştiu că vei face chiar mai mult decât îţi zic.

Confident of your obedience, I write to you, knowing that you will do even more than I say.

Egyúttal készíts szállást is nekem, mert remélem, hogy imádságaitokért ajándékba kaptok engem.

Egyúttal pedig készíts nékem szállást; mert reménylem, hogy a ti imádságaitokért néktek ajándékoztatom.

But withal prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given unto you.

Totodată, pregăteşte-mi un loc de găzduire, căci trag nădejde să vă fiu dăruit, datorită rugăciunilor voastre.

At the same time, prepare a guest room for me, for I am hoping that through your prayers I will be graciously given to you.
