Hasonlóképpen, ti, asszonyok, engedelmeskedjetek férjeteknek, hogy ha némelyek nem engedelmeskednének is az igének, feleségük magaviselete ige nélkül is megnyerje őket,

Hasonlóképen az asszonyok engedelmeskedjenek az ő férjöknek, hogy ha némelyek nem engedelmeskednének is az ígének, feleségük magaviselete által íge nélkül is megnyeressenek;

Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;

Tot astfel, nevestelor, fiţi supuse şi voi bărbaţilor voştri; pentru ca, dacă unii nu ascultă Cuvântul, să fie câştigaţi fără cuvânt, prin purtarea nevestelor lor,

Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives,

figyelve istenfélő, tiszta életeteket.

Szemlélvén a ti félelemben való feddhetetlen életeteket.

While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.

când vă vor vedea felul vostru de trai: curat şi în temere.

when they see your respectful and pure conduct.

Ékességük ne külsőséges legyen: hajuk fonogatása és arany felrakása vagy drága ruhák felöltése,

A kiknek ékessége ne legyen külső, hajuknak fonogatásából és aranynak felrakásából vagy öltözékek felvevéséből való;

Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;

Podoaba voastră să nu fie podoaba de afară, care stă în împletitura părului, în purtarea de scule de aur sau în îmbrăcarea hainelor,

Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear—

hanem a szívnek elrejtett embere a szelíd és csendes lélek romolhatatlanságával, amely igen becses Isten előtt.

Hanem a szívnek elrejtett embere, a szelíd és csendes lélek romolhatatlanságával, a mi igen becses az Isten előtt.

But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

ci să fie omul ascuns al inimii, în curăţia nepieritoare a unui duh blând şi liniştit, care este de mare preţ înaintea lui Dumnezeu.

but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.

Mert így ékesítették magukat egykor a szent asszonyok is, akik Istenben reménykedtek, és engedelmeskedtek férjüknek,

Mert így ékesítették magokat hajdan ama szent asszonyok is, a kik Istenben reménykedtek, engedelmeskedvén az ő férjöknek.

For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:

Astfel se împodobeau odinioară sfintele femei, care nădăjduiau în Dumnezeu şi erau supuse bărbaţilor lor;

For this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their own husbands,

amint Sára is engedelmeskedett Ábrahámnak, és urának nevezte őt, akinek leányai lettetek, ha jót cselekedtek, és nem riadtok vissza semmiféle fenyegetéstől.

Miként Sára engedelmeskedett Ábrahámnak, urának nevezvén őt, a kinek gyermekei lettetek, ha jót cselekesztek, és semmi félelemtől nem rettegtek.

Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.

ca Sara, care asculta pe Avraam şi-l numea „domnul ei”. Fiicele ei v-aţi făcut voi, dacă faceţi binele fără să vă temeţi de ceva.

as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. And you are her children, if you do good and do not fear anything that is frightening.

Hasonlóképpen, ti férfiak, megértően éljetek együtt feleségetekkel, a gyengébb nemet részesítsétek tiszteletben, mint örököstársakat az élet kegyelmében, hogy imádságaitoknak ne legyen akadálya.

A férfiak hasonlóképen, együtt lakjanak értelmes módon [feleségükkel,]az asszonyi nemnek, mint gyöngébb edénynek, tisztességet tévén, mint a kik örökös társaik az élet kegyelmében; hogy a ti imádságaitok meg ne hiúsuljanak.

Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

Bărbaţilor, purtaţi-vă şi voi, la rândul vostru, cu înţelepciune cu nevestele voastre, dând cinste femeii ca unui vas mai slab, ca unele care vor moşteni împreună cu voi harul vieţii, ca să nu fie împiedicate rugăciunile voastre.

Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.

Végezetül mindnyájan legyetek egyetértők, együtt érzők, testvérszeretők, irgalmasok, alázatos szívűek.

Végezetre mindnyájan [legyetek] egyértelműek, rokonérzelműek, atyafiszeretők, irgalmasak, kegyesek:

Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:

Încolo, toţi să fiţi cu aceleaşi gânduri, simţind cu alţii, iubind ca fraţii, miloşi, smeriţi.

Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind.

Ne fizessetek gonosszal a gonoszért vagy szidalommal a szidalomért, hanem ellenkezőleg: mondjatok áldást, hiszen arra hívattatok el, hogy áldást örököljetek.

Nem fizetvén gonoszszal a gonoszért, avagy szidalommal a szidalomért; sőt ellenkezőleg áldást mondván, tudva, hogy arra hivattatok el, hogy áldást örököljetek,

Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

Nu întoarceţi rău pentru rău, nici ocară pentru ocară; dimpotrivă, binecuvântaţi, căci la aceasta aţi fost chemaţi: să moşteniţi binecuvântarea.

Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing.

Mert aki szereti az életet, és szeretne jó napokat látni, tartóztassa meg a nyelvét a gonosztól, és ajka ne szóljon álnokságot;

Mert a ki akarja az életet szeretni, jó napokat látni, tiltsa meg nyelvét a gonosztól, és ajkait, hogy ne szóljanak álnokságot:

For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:

„Căci cine iubeşte viaţa şi vrea să vadă zile bune să-şi înfrâneze limba de la rău şi buzele de la cuvinte înşelătoare,

For “Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit;

forduljon el a gonosztól, és cselekedjék jót; keresse a békességet és kövesse.

Forduljon el a gonosztól, és cselekedjék jót; keresse a békességet, és kövesse azt.

Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.

să se depărteze de rău şi să facă binele, să caute pacea şi s-o urmărească.

let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it.

Mert az Úr szeme az igazakon van, és füle az ő könyörgésükre figyel, az Úr arca pedig a gonosztevők ellen fordul.

Mert az Úr szemei az igazakon [vannak], és az ő fülei azoknak könyörgésein; az Úr orczája pedig a gonoszt cselekvőkön.

For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

Căci ochii Domnului sunt peste cei neprihăniţi, şi urechile Lui iau aminte la rugăciunile lor. Dar faţa Domnului este împotriva celor ce fac răul.”

For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

És ki az, aki bántalmaz titeket, ha a jóra igyekeztek?

És kicsoda az, a ki bántalmaz titeket, ha a jónak követői lesztek?

And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?

Şi cine vă va face rău, dacă sunteţi plini de râvnă pentru bine?

Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good?

De ha szenvedtek is az igazságért, boldogok vagytok; fenyegetésüktől ne ijedjetek meg, ne nyugtalankodjatok.

De ha szenvedtek is az igazságért, boldogok [vagytok, ]azoktól való félelemből pedig ne féljetek, se zavarba ne essetek;

But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;

Chiar dacă aveţi de suferit pentru neprihănire, ferice de voi! „N-aveţi nicio teamă de ei şi nu vă tulburaţi!

But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled,

Az Úr Krisztust pedig szenteljétek meg a szívetekben. Mindig legyetek készek megfelelni mindenkinek, aki számon kéri tőletek a bennetek levő reménységet. De szelídséggel, félelemmel

Az Úr Istent pedig szenteljétek meg a ti szívetekben. Mindig készek [legyetek] megfelelni mindenkinek, a ki számot kér tőletek a bennetek levő reménységről, szelídséggel és félelemmel:

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

Ci sfinţiţi în inimile voastre pe Hristos ca Domn.” Fiţi totdeauna gata să răspundeţi oricui vă cere socoteală de nădejdea care este în voi; dar cu blândeţe şi teamă,

but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,

és jó lelkiismerettel tegyétek, hogy amiben rágalmaznak titeket, szégyenüljenek meg azok, akik gyalázzák a ti Krisztusban való példás magatartásotokat.

Jó lelkiismeretetek lévén; hogy a miben rágalmaznak titeket, mint gonosztevőket, megszégyenüljenek a kik gyalázzák a ti Krisztusban való jó élteteket.

Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

având un cuget curat; pentru ca cei ce bârfesc purtarea voastră bună în Hristos să rămână de ruşine tocmai în lucrurile în care vă vorbesc de rău.

having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.

Mert jobb, ha jót cselekedve szenvedtek, ha ez az Isten akarata, mint gonoszt cselekedve.

Mert jobb ha jót cselekedve szenvedtek, ha így akarja az Isten akarata, hogynem gonoszt cselekedve.

For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.

Căci este mai bine, dacă aşa este voia lui Dumnezeu, să suferiţi pentru că faceţi binele decât pentru că faceţi răul!

For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God’s will, than for doing evil.

Mert Krisztus is szenvedett egyszer a bűnökért, az igaz a nem igazakért, hogy minket Istenhez vezéreljen. Halálra adatott ugyan test szerint, de megeleveníttetett Lélek szerint,

Mert Krisztus is szenvedett egyszer a bűnökért, mint igaz a nem igazakért, hogy minket Istenhez vezéreljen; megölettetvén ugyan test szerint, de megeleveníttetvén lélek szerint;

For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

Hristos, de asemenea, a suferit o dată pentru păcate, El, Cel Neprihănit, pentru cei nelegiuiţi, ca să ne aducă la Dumnezeu. El a fost omorât în trup, dar a fost înviat în duh,

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit,

By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;

în care S-a dus să propovăduiască duhurilor din închisoare,

in which he went and proclaimed to the spirits in prison,

akik egykor engedetlenek voltak, amikor Isten türelemmel várt Nóé napjaiban, a bárka készítésekor, amelyben kevés, azaz nyolc lélek menekült meg víz által.

A melyek engedetlenek voltak egykor, mikor egyszer várt az Isten béketűrése a Noé napjaiban, a bárka készítésekor, a melyben kevés, azaz nyolcz lélek tartatott meg víz által;

Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

care fuseseră răzvrătite odinioară, când îndelunga răbdare a lui Dumnezeu era în aşteptare, în zilele lui Noe, când se făcea corabia în care au fost scăpate prin apă un mic număr de suflete, şi anume opt.

because they formerly did not obey, when God’s patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water.

Most pedig titeket is megment ennek képmása, a keresztség, amely nem a test szennyének lemosása, hanem a jó lelkiismeret keresése Isten iránt, Jézus Krisztus feltámadása által,

A mi minket is megtart most képmás gyanánt, mint keresztség, a mi nem a test szenyjének lemosása, hanem jó lelkiismeret keresése Isten iránt, a Jézus Krisztus feltámadása által;

The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

Icoana aceasta închipuitoare vă mântuieşte acum pe voi, şi anume botezul, care nu este o curăţare de întinăciunile trupeşti, ci mărturia unui cuget curat înaintea lui Dumnezeu, prin învierea lui Isus Hristos,

Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.

care stă la dreapta lui Dumnezeu, după ce S-a înălţat la cer şi Şi-a supus îngerii, stăpânirile şi puterile.

who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers having been subjected to him.
